HALLOW’S EVE DRAWS NEAR…

The creaking of haunted houses and the spine-chilling tingle of the whispering winds can only mean one thing for this time of year! Halloween is at our doorstep, and what’s a good way to celebrate it than to contribute ‘tricks’ and ‘treats’ to appease the spirits that seek to spread mischief! How can we satisfy the ghosts and demons from snatching our rare candies and berries?! 

By contributing our own tricks and treats of our own through the power of writing! Welcome, everyone to Writober! 

Each day during the month of Writober (October) a prompt will be displayed for all to write and drabble from! From simple headcanons, to interactions, to drabbles stretching as far as the eyes can see! This Month, let us all celebrate the creativity and imagination by bending and twisting our skills as writers by creating pieces of our muses! 

No one is required to finish every single prompt! Go at your own pace! Have fun with this and enjoy writing with friends, too!

Sorry I haven’t been around as much. Work is still a thing and I got a new semester is coming up soon. Between that, getting a puppy (not until next week but I had to do some prep), and friends dragging me to a new fandom, I guess things have been a little hectic and I haven’t had a chance to get back on here in a bit.

Anyways, I think I’ll wait things out until Pokemon Masters come around unless one of my muses shoves me back on here sooner.

“Hey, I wanted to get ya somethin special! After all, it’s been a while since I’ve seen ya.” He was honestly just happy to see her happy, though her hand did feel really soft. “I couldn’t help but think of ya when I saw it, so of course I had to get it.” Taking his now free hand, Nate took advantage of her nuzzling into his shoulder by wrapping an arm around her.

“Looker? Honestly he’s a dweeb but he’s also sort of a living legend?  When I was first starting out at interpol I was kinda hoping I’d be working under his team. He was the main guy we had during the Galactic incident, and with how that shitshow went it was good Interpol had at least someone there. Then from what I heard he worked with Unova’s previous hero to arrest a lot of the Sages, which isn’t a small feat that’s for sure. Imagine if Ghetsis had more sages than just Zinzolin on his side.” Arceus, that already sent shivers down his spine just thinking about it.

“But yea, back to Looker. He’s a dweeb but sort of a cool dweeb, and he cares a lot about a lot of people. Being an agent isn’t always a job where ya can be nice, especially when you’re gettin orders from someone higher up and those orders aren’t nice. So it’s cool to see someone trying to do the most good within the constraints they had... besides me I guess.”

Nate honestly wasn’t that familiar with Elesa’s volunteer work, being wrapped up with interpol as of late, and a lot of the volunteer work he was familiar with were things related to pokemon, not people. So coming to a youth correction facility (one for people who got caught up in Team Plasma no less) was a new experience for him. Nate never really got to see the old Plasma, with Aspertia being so out of the way, and most of his encounters were with the more malicious Neo-Plasma. Still, he met a few reformed members of the old Plasma, including the former sage Rood, Anthea and Concordia, and of course, N himself. All of them seemed to hold regret for their past actions, a nice change from fighting off Ghetsis’ Neo Plasma back in the day. Part of him was glad that there were others who regretted what they did, and wanted to change and separate themselves from that old legacy.

Unfortunately, it was a hard legacy to get rid of. After getting to know how great those kids were (some of them not much younger than him), it was heartbreaking to see some of them being accused of a crime, especially since Nate knew that interrogators aren’t always going to play nice. Thankfully the facility had a lawyer they could contact, but that was only going to go so far.

“Yea... they didn’t seem like they were the kind to cause trouble...” After all, Nate didn’t get any of his weird hunches when being around them, like they were trying to hide something. “They already regretted their actions in Team Plasma, right? It doesn’t make sense why they’d just... do something as bad as that again.” The pressure of trying to hide what they did wrong would only be amplified in a place like that, not due to the facility being bad, but instead because they wouldn’t want to let their peers down. Given that his hunches were based on Aura, it’d make sense he would feel... something off.

Nate sat himself on a nearby chair, watching in concern as Elesa paced back an forth. All the meanwhile Nate’s mind was going through everything he had seen. Part of him wanted to do more, but as a secret Interpol agent, he had to stay out of these smaller crimes, especially in Unova where people knew who he was. Still, he was trying his best to figure out what was going on, nearly lost in thought until something Elesa said triggered an idea in his mind.

“Wait... hold up. This wasn’t the first time it happened?”

That idea seemed to give a glint in Nate’s eyes, a bit of excitement as if he had found a lead. “Maybe we should compare these incidents! Were the kids friends with other people who were accused? What were the other accused crimes? Did either the same witness or same officer show up?” It seems that it was time for some detective work, and that first involved compiling information they already knew.

“This just doesn’t sit right.” Elesa paced back and fourth, brows knitted together as she strode from one side of the room to the other. Her mind going a mile a minute as she thought about what had just occurred. 

It had been a good day starting off, Nate was in town so she���d decided the best way to celebrate that was to drag him along with her to the Nimbasa Youth Correction Centre that she would volunteer in. The centre was dedicated to helping youth who had been wrapped up in team Plasma and were looking to turn their lives around. A lot of those who had gotten wrapped up in the trouble had done so because they had no other means or wanted somewhere to belong. They weren’t bad people, just people making bad decisions, and Elesa firmly believed this which is why she volunteered at the centre as often as she could. She would go in to help the youth with their resumes’s, offer advice, give tips on pokemon and battling, Whatever was needed she would offer her assistance. And sometimes that assistance was to bring in friends like today. It had been a good day, hanging out with teens and young adults and friends. Some mock pokemon battles had occurred which Elesa has happily reffed and offered advice for while Nate seemed to be the one everyone wanted to challenge. 

Though things had taken a turn when the local police service showed up with a very angry citizen who was demanding they line up all those who attended the facility so they could identify the culprit of some horrendous crime they were claiming the youth had done. It ended with two of the youth, in tears and pleading that they didn’t do anything, being taken away in handcuffs as Elesa could simply watch on helplessly. 

“I know those kids, they’re good kids. They’ve been coming here since it was opened. Checking in to all their court appointments. I just… this doesn’t feel right. I don’t think they did it.” she stopped her pacing, hands coming to rest on her hips. “And this isn’t the first this has happened either. Somethings not right, but I wish I knew what.”
