I feel a big gap between me and other people when they ask what I studied at university or what i have worked as in the past. I tried going to uni and I just couldn't do it. The expectations, sensory overload, the deadlines... I was severely burnt out from high school and needed to sleep a lot. Uni reminded me of high school too which was not good. There was like a recreational room or something like that at uni that I could access via stairs and I would spend time between classes there by myself. There was a big window and I would stare at the clouds and the sky until it was time to go back to class. I spent most of my time alone just like I did in high school because I couldn't relate to anyone and my attempts at socializing failed.
I find it overwhelming you are expected to have found work or have graduated uni by a certain age and people act surprised when you mention that has not been the case for you. There are so many reasons and factors that could be behind why someone can't do certain things and I have noticed some people take those things lightly in a way (going to uni, school, graduating, working) when it is a struggle to many of us to the point of affecting our daily lives.
