THIS IS US: Wendy, Kellye and I put together one last show filled with thoughts, memories, and what we are doing now.  This is us.  And as I always say “Get ready, get set, Listen!!!!!”

Podcasting in a Truck, why not we have done shows from a car too.

We started with 5, and closed out with a reunion show of 3.

Wendy talks first.

Wendy left to go back into law enforcement then she joined her husband in “Serve and Protect Financial” which is a very successful financial co.

Wendy moved to Pinellas County (St. Pete and Clearwater area).

We all have stories from our pasts that propelled us into the future.

I shamelessly plug my FB Live on Tuesdays at 730EDT

The first episode we did was at my kitchen counter on my iPhone 6+ and my Brando mic.  Still sounds good.

We were in Wendy’s truck for this recording.

Kellye is now in IT and loving it.  She was an entrepreneur but family comes first and she went back to work.

I talked about the interview that stands out as a dud sorry Tampa Bay Lightning.

I am heading to a new podcast “They Dig Deeper”

It is about heroes in a sense, it is really about people who do things basically without thinking.

I will start with interviewing people in religion, philosophy, psychology, and science before heading into guest interviews with those who do great things.

What makes these people who do wonderful things different.

Now I have to edit again.

This podcast slowed when Larry had open heart surgery.

I talk about Johnny Gwin – love you Johnny.

Kellye talks about what podcasts she listens to.

We disagree with people speeding up the podcasts – the hurry up generation.

I talk about some future guests.

We talk about entrepreneurship starting with Kellye

The rewards can be found outside your comfort zone.

We talk about what you should not do as an entrepreneur – take our advice.

Pick a niche.

Why I switched out my career from social media management to writing for people for the most part.

Know your worth – figure it out.

This is us, you get us as we are – crazy marketing ladies.

I admit I cried.

My editor cried.

It’s hard to say goodbye.

Possible Trends on Social Media 2018 - TCMLS: Episode 00266

Yes, today I am sharing my ideas of possible trends on social media for 2018.

By the way HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Let’s get rocking on 2018.

  We had a terrible beginning to the new year here in Florida, a hard freeze.

Yeah, yeah, yeah people up north are tired of hearing us complain about cold weather

My healing garden looks like it was nuked.

The annuals are gone of course, the Florida friendly plants hopefully will come back but for 2 more months we will have a dead looking yard.

Facebook is going to have more issues.

In fact other networks are not making us happy.

Who else is tired of ads.

Cat videos – gone.

Remember “Charlie bit my finger?” on YouTube?

Video is changing on YouTube

Snapchat is making changes (and I don’t care).

AI will grow

FB dumped the idea

It will come back

CES is all about AI

Robots are all over the place

Hopefully social media algorithms will become more ethical

Fake and biased news needs to be addressed using human filters

Then there is the news – the depressing news

I admit I am tired of FB

Shopping is going to show up more on social media.

Sites need to improve their buy buttons.

I have gone back to holding classes

I put out a questionairre people want LinkedIn

They eclipsed the 500 Million people mark in 2017

Microsoft has certainly improved the platform

LinkedIn did not have fake news or not a lot of it

Today I worked on Map

For the first time ever I have had to put client work into specific time slots.

If they don’t send me what I need I have to move them and I don’t have a lot of time slots.

Clients will lose a week if they don’t do what they are asked to do.

I am writing more.

I am applying to write for companies.

I have a client who has never used social media – can you imagine?

Yes, I am sharing my 7 free tips to grow your business and do it off Facebook or any social media.  I am serious we all know social media is wonky and Facebook makes it harder and harder to be found so I am giving YOU my free tips for growth.  Ready?

FREE TIPS FOR BUSINESS GROWTH

This IS my last show of the year and I wanted to share my 7 free tips to grow your business.

Engagement is down, reach is down, FB wants you to pay to play and we do have other means to grow.

FB is a great place to be social, but how much business have any of you ever gotten?

I have been growing with face-to-face, one-to-one meetings.  It builds trust.

Here we go:  Tip 1 get on Google and Google yourself, look at what is there, then choose images and see what comes up.

Tip  -.  Make your profile pictures the same everywhere.  Get a photographer get a good head shot.

I explain why I need one.

Tip 3 make sure your name is the same everywhere and in your email signature use color, mine is orange

Tip 4 – ask people you know if you can write an article for them or a guest blog post.  Get your name out there.

Tip 5 – make a list of people that you know and make a date to meet them face-to-face.  You will get business this way.

Tip 6 – what is your niche – is it complete can you add more, can you niche what you do down?

Tip 7 – this is the most important.  You have to work this advice 30 minutes a day.  People ask me all the time how to grow, you have to nurture things, you cannot grow unless you are consistent 30 minutes a day

We all know I do it for people, people who don’t want to do it, don’t have time to do it, I do have time.

I segue into resolutions – you can set goals I don’t set resolutions.

I also liked what a friend suggested about thinking about a specific word and using that.

I go into my word or thoughts that lead to that word (sorry you need to spend less than 15 minutes to hear my word).

Then the 3 of us will talk as a group about stories and how these stories turned our lives around.

New Podcast Show Name Reveal - TCMLS: Episode 00262

Today is a big day, today is the new podcast show name reveal and it is so exciting.  It is also exciting that this is ep 262.  I love sitting down in front of the microphone, makes me feel like I have a different career.  I love podcasting so why not have another show.

Emphasis is placed on why I am really doing this

We have no borders and yes we like men to be here too.

I have spoken about this and yeah it is a place for stories

It is a story podcast

We all have stories

They differ but they are our stories

Networking for me was a problem I live 50 miles north of the best opportunities

I spell out the expenses

I was geographical undesirable in many eyes as someone to do business with

I stopped

That is how WWW started

Many women can’t network, can’t share ideas, can’t help each other

Naturally that also needs a podcast audio and video eventually

The name is Stories from the Hearts (of Many).

I wanted to take this podcast and rename it but it wouldn’t work

I will still be here maybe only a couple times a month

I am done adulting I am going to be a mermaid talk

Adulting is tough

Take naps and I explain why you should

Naps are refreshing and your brain will like you for it.

Another thing that has helped me is to escape into a fiction book for a while

I talk about Dan Brown and his new novel “Origin”

His research is so good

I love art history, religious history and his making me feel like I am there

I wish I could write like Mr. Brown

I had a wonderful compliment the other day telling me I don’t write to a certain age group I keep it simple and easy to understand

I was at a conference where Chris Ducker spoke about people who steal website ideas right down to color and design

I know Chris, I have seen him in a bathing suit.  We were on the Podcast cruise and we had a lovely time and actually talked about life

If you borrow from a winner you will be a loser

Small world people you will get caught

I talk about an idea that stimulated my brain and I changed it out and made it mine – borrowing an idea is not a bad thing as long as you make it yours but don’t copy.  This is what I designed:

It's Not What You Know, It's Who You Know - TCMLS: Episode 00259

It is not what you know, it’s who you know.  How many times have you heard this?

I talk about Podcast Movement and how I miss not being in Anaheim this year, but there’s always next year – Philadelphia.

When you are starting something new it helps to know people who can help you.

How many business cards do you have?

I take notes and then I toss the cards.

The notes tell me if I really want to connect or if I can help them or they can help me.

You can start doing this now.

You have to be memorable in a good way.

You should be reaching out when you are fresh in their minds.

I call this memorable magic.

I am all about butterflies. (I got a picture of a butterfly ring last night on FB).

I have all kinds of butterfly things

If someone talks about a butterfly it is a segue into talking about what I do.

It works and I give an example of how this recently worked for me.

You can use stickers and put them all over the place.\

Make people laugh, they will remember you.

I re-wrote the lyrics to a Christmas song everyone knows when I was selling antibiotics.

I like to connect people and this works too.  You help someone and they reward you.

You do need to be sincere, you will be remembered.

If you make a promise, keep it, if you say you are going to do something, do it.

Give, give give again.

Find the sweet spot it is usually in the middle and be your sincere self.

Watch that #HumbleBragging

We all brag some people just do it a lot.

It is not sincere to brag.

Over-posting of selfies doesn’t make you that sincere.

There are better photos you can post.

Now let’s think again about those business cards, if you still have them, toss them.

Marketing – your life or your business? Both is the right answer and today I dig into how I define this, why it is necessary and more.  Ready to get crazy?

How can it be August already?

I am launching a new segment to my Butterfly Boom Productions that takes all my time these days, but I needed to get back to podcasting.

This new launch will be #WOWSOME – a combo of “awesome” and “WOW”

I attribute this hashtag to Jenn Page who produced and directed a full length feature film that comes out August 22nd called “Love or War”  watch for it, Jenn is amazing.

Someone said “Your life is a business.” I thought about that and said absolutely it is.

I am still keeping my shows short.

If the word crazy is in the title of my podcast why not be crazy enough to include marketing everything not just your business.

Someone asked me if I take time off.

Where was I when I changed the name of my business from social butterfly media marketing to butterfly boom productions?

Your just never know when an idea will pop into your head.

If you have an idea and you think it is fab act on it fast.  Someone else probably possibly has the same idea.  Run.

Less Than 5 - Hurricane Watch - Episode 00144

In business or for real you have to hunker down.

In today’s Less Than 5 it is all about being on hurricane watch literally and figuratively.  Whether it is a true hurricane or a storm of sh*t coming your way in business, you have to hunker down, use the eye of the storm to your advantage, hunker down again waiting for the rest to pass and knock it dead out of the water.

We are under a hurricane watch – Hermine is heading north of us and we are not that close but we are still in the cone.

Poor Apalachicola – I lived in that area

Apalach was a known port – New Orleans Mobile and Apalach (we drop the icola)

I worry about the wind it could kick up

We had a microburst several weeks ago it took trees down

I discuss the eye of the storm in a real hurricane and in business

I got caught drinking a beer on TV at a hurricane party when Opal roared through

Hunkering down is important in life, in business and in a hurricane.

Ride that storm out people – you might be very happy you did.

The Eye, The Heart, The Breast - TCMLS Episode 00257

The eye, the heart and the breast all came to us this year (plus a few other things) to mess with our lives and our finances for certain.

Back with a new format

No more intro and outro clips unless I interview someone then I might have an intro

I think everyone who listens knows Willie (our dog had eye issues since Jan) and Larry had his heart issues including open heart surgery

On May 14th Willie had a visit to the ER at Univ of FL Vet Med

She is now “Willie the One-eyed Wonder Dog” on Facebook.

Expensive visit

We have ordered Doggles for her to wear picture coming soon

Hopefully she will get accustomed to them

Then we had Larry with his heart and heart surgeries (plural)

Then I went for my annual mammogram only to find out I had a “suspicious” lesion

This was hardly a great day and then in the middle of all this I had to have a 2nd biopsy and BAM I freaked out.

It has been 23 1/2 years since I was first diagnosed

People started asking me when I was ever going to catch a break

I found out in two days I was cancer free thank God.

All of these things put a big hold on this podcast.

I was healing when on a Thursday Larry called me out of the bedroom to say “Something is terribly wrong with Willie’s eye”.

She was in pain.  She paced, she panted, she wouldn’t eat.  Off I go to Univ of FL Vet Med 1 hour and 45 minutes later I got her there and everyone was in tears.  This little dog was in excruciating pain yet so brave.

She was diagnosed with another ulcer and a horrible glaucoma flare.

They compared her having glaucoma to a migraine in a human.

i wept.

Then they told me she had to be admitted and observed.

2 options

One surgery could strengthen her cornea, the other was to do an e-nucleation

Do not google that word, an e-nucleation is the surgical removal of an eye.

We had many phone consults, we knew it was the best decision but it was heartbreaking.

I have eyeball issues I faint

Larry and I cried when we had to tell them our decision.

She doesn’t look bad, in fact she looks adorable.

It was tough.

Willie is the mascot of the Opth Dept at U of Fl.

She had surgery and came home that same day.

We went to pick her up so cheerfully.

Vet med has been an education

1 hr and 45 minutes again

She does look good

She is back to normal and doing fine

She gets her sutures out soon

We kept her doped up for a couple days on Tramadol yes people meds

Get pet insurance – we are thousands of dollars into her eye

Her e-nucleation was $1100

I am so excited to be back I have a new product in the social media hopper

A budget friendly way of marketing your business.

I don’t do social media management any more

I had $2500 a month clients they are not clients they are your boss

I want to work with newbies, small businesses, entrepreneurs

This product will get your marketing done in several hours a month

It will be fun

And no I am not crazy to be doing this for such a low monthly fee

There will be so many things to choose from

It is all getting better

Stepped on a bee – not me my dog did and screwed up my podcast. Seriously I started this episode 3 times.  I wanted to talk podcasting why I started it and why you should do it to grow your business.

I really did record 3 times today

Sh*t happens

It happened today.

I scrapped the first try

I was 6 minutes into the second one and I heard a dog screaming in pain.

My precious little angel had stepped on a bee.

Her screams could shatter glass.

I was a nut case.

It was horrible.

The stinger was 3/8’s of an inch long big ass stinger

This will happen when you podcast too

I do get clients from podcasting

Bigger thought leaders than me podcast and admit they make money from people wanting to do business with them

I am a consultant/coach on social media

My second podcast is The Nearness of You with my dad’s love letters home from WWII

New one coming is “Nailed It” about buying new construction instead of a second hand home in FL we are out of houses

New community on FB @WorkingWomenWorld will be an interview podcast and a web tv show

I am not the only person with more than one podcast show.

Definitely podcast and there are sites on Google that will help you start one for FREE

Do not pay for podcast coaching

It takes time and practice

I started on an iPhone with a shotgun microphone I have gone bigger.

Let’s talk editing

You should edit – don’t leave the crap in there.

I laugh and have fun I have leeway but a professional show should be edited

Seriously

I tell how I tried to sell door to door and it just did not work

I would get sick to my stomach

The word no kills me

I can’t make cold calls either thank goodness for the “do not call list”

I was great as a pharmaceutical rep but I was an RN I could talk to doctors no problem

Plus I sold 2 of the top selling drugs in the world made my job easy

It is so important to be comfortable

I made two sales today

Sales I am comfortable with

I am well-branded – go ahead google my name

Don’t ever tell anyone you can do something when you can’t

I can relate.

I admit what I can’t or don’t do

Don’t ever lie

Don’t ever fake it till you make it

And if someone asks you something you do not know tell them you will find out and get back to them

Never trash your competition

She's Back, Sassy and Telling it Like it Is - Episode 00253

Yes, she is back and at times sassy about telling it like it is/was and the reasons this show was put on hold for 3 months.  However things will be slightly different now, and I am not holding back although I did not name names, except for Jared Easley.  I called him out in this episode of She’s Back.

New shows will be about 15-20 mins long on Wednesdays only

I will bring people back in for interviews but now it is just Carole

My husband had a heart issue in February and we knew things would have to slow down

I am an RN and thought things would be easy – boy was I wrong’

If you ever are going to have a loved one in the hospital freeze meals for yourself

Does #Bear run around naked?

I explain why I was on a downer

Someone let me down

Partnerships have to be a win/win not a win/lose

Giving needs to be equal as does taking and it wasn’t so I was really not sure where I would take this.

This person did not get this.

Back to the beginning when there were 5 of us.

Then someone complains.

Another person complains.

This did not work.

I took it to Jared Easley.

He told me my show name could fit with one lady.

I highly recommend attending Podcast Movement this August in Anaheim.

Johnny and Barbara are still around and I have some older shows still recorded might be bringing those on soon.

Wednesdays only I will talk marketing out the wazoo.

So what happened?

Larry’s Cardiologist dumped the bad news on us that he only put a bandaid on Larry’s arteries and he would need bypass.

I am from Cleveland and considered Cleveland Clinic when we found a highly skilled Cardiovascular surgeon at Tampa General who was Cleveland Clinic trained.

We met with him and decided to have the surgery.

Larry was scared I was sure it was all going to be fine

I was told to freeze some meals I did not listen.

I had all these great plans I was going to work at the hospital no way.

Surgery went well.

But as he was doing pressure testing on his heart he had to put Larry on the pump and there was a hole in Larry’s heart from birth.  Tetrology of Fallot.

It is a miracle that we chose this surgeon who found this hole because no one else ever had in all his heart testing.

Everything was going well until he started to bleed.

It was very scary.

We went back to the hotel to try to rest…they called and I basically flew back to the hospital as he was going back into surgery to get the bleeder.

At 330AM his surgeon came and held me in his arms, kissed me on top of my head and told me “I fixed him.”

5-7 days of normal heart surgery recovery turned into 11

I ate popcorn one night for dinner.

I was in survival mode which is a real thing.

I cannot believe he ever had this surgery, ever almost died he looks so good, does everything he did before surgery.  He is a brave man.

Bravest Man I know.

Yes She’s Back but she will freeze dinners now just in case.

She’s Back will be back next Wednesday.

We will laugh.

This is Larry at 4 weeks finally allowed to drive.
