Ok, hear me out: The first time Andrew saw Neil wouldn’t have been when he hit him with the Exy racket in the Milport locker rooms. 

It doesn’t make sense to me that Wymack, Kevin, and Andrew would have come all the way out to Millport to sign Neil on a game day, and not watched Neil play. They would have been there to watch the game.

The first time Andrew saw Neil would have been when Neil was playing his very last high school Exy game—the game Neil thought would be his last one ever.

Just—Imagine Andrew watching Neil anxiously buzzing on the sidelines until he gets put in the game, watching Neil play with the canonical desperation of a boy who knows that this is his last chance, watching him pull his helmet off at the end of the game, first, noticing how attractive he is, and second, watching the expression of grief that washes over his face when he realizes that it’s over. Now, imagine all of this happening through the terrible, euphoric haze of Andrew’s medication.

No wonder this man was so convinced that Neil wasn’t real.

Neil was struggling to breathe after a particularly hard check from the other team’s backliner. In his haste to get his neck guard off he forgot to make sure his necklace stayed hidden. Well, it was less of a necklace and more of an efficiency thing— a way for him to actually wear the ring Andrew bought him when they got married. The camera for the Jumbotron had started following him the same time as the backliner and was still on him when his ring was exposed to everyone.

Press duty after the game was what everyone expected from Neil Josten being in front of cameras— absolutely anarchy. There were so many questions about him being married and who his wife was, he just had to correct them.

“My Husband and I actually prefer to keep our private lives private, you know. I understand it’s such a wild concept to you vultures that not everything is just a grab for the next big news story, but just let us keep a little of our peace.” Neil walked right out of the room after that, tired after all the inane questioning and not willing to put up with anymore.

For the next couple months Neil was bombarded with questions about his husband. Most went ignored but every once in a while if someone asked how the husband was Neil would be inclined to answer them.

Neil thought nothing of this habit until press after his game against Andrew’s team. The only reason he didn’t think of it prior to the game was because all rational thought was overshadowed by his excitement to see Andrew in person again.

“So, Neil, how's your husband? Did he enjoy the game?” One of the most tolerable reporters asked at the end of the meeting.

Neil smiled to himself— and a little at Andrew— before saying “oh he’s great. Always has a ton of fun at games as well.”

Everyone was so focused on Neil that no one noticed Andrew leaning towards his mic until he spoke, “now that is an absolute lie. I never have fun at these things.”

With that the two looked at each other, Neil grinning like a fool and Andrew slightly amused, and together they decided to stand up and walk out of the mess they just made.

when neil stopped referring to himself as ‘neil’ and switched to ‘nathaniel’ i genuinely fell to my knees like it’s actually so poignant how a simple switch in name shows how hopeless neil felt during that time, how he really believed that he was going to die after finally having a chance to truly live

This sport needs to sort out the B teams. Alpha Tauri should never be able to pull the stunt they did today again.

And this isn’t Yuki’s fault he’s just listening to his team but they shouldn’t be allowed to put a car with a clear issue back on track to cause a VSC.

Call me a conspiracy theoriest but steppie boy needing a pitstop and Yuki's car suddenly not working. Hmmmm. Like *puts on tinfoil hat* Yuki was in the pits, something was clearly wrong with his car and yet they sent him out again just so he could park by the road....fishy. The alpha tauri's not only are being swindled out of their money by rbr but also their race

Red Bull actually is just terrified of Lewis not Mercedes

redbull is straight up not following the cost cap. u can't bring upgrades every weekend AND test a lighter chassis plus have ur drivers make silly mistakes and crash/dnf and still follow the cost cap while mercedes doesn't have the money to do the same thing even tho they had way fewer upgrades and less crashes at the same time. this doesn't make sense at all but nobody that matters wants to talk about it
