Who wants to hear the tale of my sister and her ‘Jo Jo’s Circus’ Inferi army?

I’ll tell you guys anyway.

So, I used to live in Oregon. It rained nine months out of the year, but it would get hot as heck and drier than salt in the summer. So we had this little kiddie pool that looked like a turtle.

One of these things.

At this time in my family’s life, my younger sister was obsessed with the show ‘Jo Jo’s circus’.

This is JoJo.

Creepy, stop-motion clowns. My sister had their whole playset. Every character and side character had a little plastic minifigure to go inside this giant circus-tent type thing my sister would play in.

Well, one day it got hot. Really, really hot. So naturally we went out to go play in the kiddie pool. We had all sorts of little pool tools and plastic figures to play with in there and it was a fond childhood memory of mine.

Then mom called us in for lunch and the plethora of JoJo’s Circus characters were left to Davy Jones’ locker as we stuffed our faces with grilled cheese and animal crackers.

There they lay forgotten for pretty much the entire summer.

My Dad covered the kiddie pool with it’s shell-lid the next day, and being small children we were too stupid to check in the pool to see if we’d left anything in there.

So, for the entire summer, the entire cast of JoJo’s Circus lay at the bottom of a boiling kiddie pool along with the remains of millions of mosquito larva who made the pool their home and a bouquet of algae.

When summer ended and things began to cool down, my Dad decided to empty the kiddie pool and put it in the garage. When he opened the lid he was surprised to see a veritable soup of algae and mosquitos, that when dumped out revealed the bleached-white corpses of the cast of JoJo’s circus.

Their cheap paint had soaked off in the water, revealing nothing more than pasty-white vaguely clown-shaped plastic forms on the bottom of the kiddie pool.

My sister was somewhat horrified but we continued to play with the Inferi Clowns until we grew out of them, but they were still as horrifying to look at and somewhat disturbing as they had been when my Dad pulled the lid off the pool.
