Green Bank Pastoral - A fragment from MIEL on Vimeo.
Since the 1950's wireless signals have been banned in Green Bank to protect its radio telescope from interference. With no cell phones and no wifi, the small Appalachian town has attracted a number of people that claim to suffer from Electro Hypersensitivity seeking respite from the modern world. This is the story of the peculiar relationship between some of these people, the small town folk, and the massive radio telescope in the middle of it all, aimed at the sky above.
This film is a fragment from the feature documentary of the same name. The full length film is currently playing in festivals around the world and being sold by ORF AUSTRIA: contentsales.orf.at/
Directed by Federico Urdaneta Produced by Denise Moreno Colour by Karol Cybulski @ Cheat Sound by Jonathan Darch Music by JS Bach (courtesy of BIS), Federico Urdaneta and featuring a live performance by Silas Powell.
