The author of We Hunt The Flame, Hafsah Faizal, has been getting this kind of horrible treatment since she has debuted (of course, in her personal life as well). As she gained popularity, the scum got more and more obvious. All because she is a muslim, veiled woman . She deserves to be recognized for her talent, for her amazing writing, for the amazing world she created.

                                     Welcome to the Sarasin district.

In the sprawling city of Arawiya, the population is a melting pot of cultures. Demenhunes, Zaramese, Pelusians, Alderaminians--and, of course, Sarasins--all congregate in their respective districts, the only place not under one being the city square; Sharr.

Arawiya has its secrets, however. Deep in the heart of the wealthy Sarasin district runs a mafia gang under the leadership of Nasir Ghameq, though everyone knows that it is his father--Saheim Ghameq--who really holds the reins. By Nasir's side is Altair al-Badawi, a close friend and confident who's brimming with secrets to tell. Together, they disguise their group as a corperation built on the basis of trade and human advancement, and it fools most people.

Most, but not all.

Zafira Iskandar is a city cop who's never lost a criminal yet. Despite that, however, she harbors regrets of all kinds, the greatest being the death of her father--indirectly caused by the Sarasin mafia. When she recieves a mysterious letter asking her to become an undercover agent, infiltrate the group and find the lost Jawarat--apparently something of importance--Zafira doesn't hesitate. With her friend, Deen Ra'ad, she makes her way into their headquarters, determined to put an end to the mafia and its lies.

But all is not what it seems. Dangers lurk around every corner, and true loyalty is few and far between. With her heart betraying her mission, can Zafira do what's right before the darkness shakes the city to its core? Or is it too late to stop its progress?
