I just found out that Katherine Johnson passed away a few days ago. I'm heartbroken that I'm just now finding out about this. I mentioned it to some friends of mine and realized that they knew nothing about the late, great Katherine Johnson. In the midst of Black History Month, I feel it's more important than ever to share some information about this wonderful woman.
- Katherine Johnson graduated from West Virginia State College at the age of eighteen. In fact, one of her mentors was famed black mathematician Dr. William W. Schiefflin Claytor and he designed a course on the geometry of space especially for her. Johnson graduated summa cum laude with degrees in both mathematics and French.
- Katherine Johnson was one of the first black students integrated into West Virginia's Graduate Schools. She was the first black woman to attend the program. She later went on to receive her doctorate.
- Katherine Johnson was initially rejected by NASA when she first applied.
- Katherine Johnson co-authored one of the first textbooks on space while while working in NASA’s Flight Dynamics Branch at the Langley Research Center.
- In 2015, Katherine Johnson was awarded the Presidental Medal of Freedom.
- In 2019, Katherine Johnson was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal.
- Katherine Johnson was a mathematician whose calculations of orbital mechanics as a NASA employee were critical to the success of the first and subsequent U.S. crewed spaceflights. You might be familiar with her story from the movie Hidden Figures.

Let's discuss Strangers Things season 4 for a moment. I haven't talked much about it with my friends (yet), but the fact that Billy was the main bad guy in this season really entertained me purely because it followed the, "careless slut" archetype that typically happens in the horror genre. Usually, if a character is sexually active in horror they are killed off because they are, "reckless" and therefore, easy for the killer to prey on. Regardless of if it was intentional or not (although find it pretty hard to believe that it WASN'T intentional), I find it hysterical that Billy was on his way to participate in fornication when the Mind Flayer caught him. Is it just me who feels this way?

Learning about the Ides of March in middle school was so surreal for me because it’s my birthday, so when the teacher started talking about March 15th and Caesar’s murder, everyone who knew my birthday gave me the side eye like I was the one who stabbed him, so I was sitting there like

Hello everyone, it has come to my attention that many people have an odd hair color like mine. A mix of brunette and ginger hues that leave you incapable of being called a true brunette or redhead. After all, we fall some odd place in the middle. I would just like, if I may, to propose that we make a name for this interesting hair color. By combining the word, "brown, and the word, "red" I've come up with a new way to identify these people: bredheads. There have been weirder names assigned to hair colors throughout history. For example, calling a person with really fair hair a, "toe head". So, if anyone has a better idea, I'd love to hear it. But, until then, I would like to be known a bredhead. Please and thank you.
