hey uh psa because there have been some issues with this in the pokémon irl community

times it is okay to use the term "egg" in the present tense:

you are talking about your own oc, or someone else's oc when that person has consented to the use of the term.

you are otherwise talking about a fictional character that's appropriate for you to make gender headcanons for.

you are talking extremely generally about trans people who haven't realized it yet as a group.

you are speaking with a friend in a private place.

times it is not okay to use the term "egg" in the present tense:

you're talking about someone else's oc when that person hasn't consented to the use of the term.

you are talking about a real person in public or where it has a chance of getting back to that person.

that gotcha scenario you're imagining.
