“Donald Trump refused to pay the bill. He told the caterer, “I know you are new at this, and when you tell people you catered MY wedding, you will get more business than you could ever dream of. So I am doing you a favor. And when I do favors, I don’t pay. End of discussion.”
She couldn’t believe it — she sent numerous bills — ignored. She threatened to sue — he said “Go ahead. I don’t lose in court.” She explored suing, but came away knowing it would cost her high legal bills, and wouldn’t be worth it. After more than six months of his stonewalling she ended up paying her staff out of her own pocket, though couldn’t pay them fully or she’d be out of business. So Trump stiffed not only her, but her staff, her chefs, her busboys.”

Powerful
The feels. The chills. School girls threatened with arrest for protesting policies to have them straighten or cut their natural hair. And how they respond

Black Artists and Creative Individuals on Tumblr:
Black Tumblr has developed into a beautiful, supportive community for black individuals, and it’s also provided a platform for opinionated, talented people to share their thoughts and outlook on life. More and more often during my use of tumblr, I’ve noticed that a lot of these same people are artists - painters, musicians, writers, metal workers, composers, or otherwise creatively inclined - but they seem to get lost in the shuffle. My proposed solution is a blog that will be dedicated to the work of black artists and the people who want to have access to them.
The plan is simple: people can post on their own blogs and mention/tag BlackStorytellers in order to receive a reblog, or they can submit directly to the blog and we’ll post their work here. However it’s done, the goal is to make it easier to find the content our peers produce while also supporting them.
Anyone that is interested in participating in this, please let us know. For those who don’t intend on submitting but would like to help get the message out, please reblog this and let your friends know.

"What if white people say that shit about black people?"
Really? You guys ALREADY do that since slavery. It sure hasn’t gone away…
“Don’t call me Becky! What if I called you-” You already been doing that.
“Don’t call me mayo! What if I called you-” you already been doing that.
“Black history month?! Why not WHITE HISTORY-” you already do. On every other month than February.
“My feelings are hurt! I’ve been called out for ‘racism’-” maybe because you were being racist.
Quit trying to switch it up like its some opposite game. Society already favors you, cops favor you, media favors you, etc. You guys are basically worshipped for being white. You don’t have the fucking struggle of being black. It must be lovely being white and so privileged that you can’t see your privilege.
Just saying. Probably going to get a lot of hate and racist comments…okay then. What does that fix by trying to fight me?

Hi :) just scrolled through your blog and I love the content especially your #blackinasia posts. As a fellow Caribbean dweller about to study in Japan, while our experience will obviously be different, it's good reading nonetheless.
Thanks! Living in China was hard to be sure, but very rewarding. I often say that's where I learned to be black.
