im noticing that for a lot of americans “free palestine” has been an ideological motto and symbol rather than them actually believing in their heart that freedom is attainable and necessary

#as someone who grew up half jewish in a very (but not conpletely) zionist community #the lightbulb moment for me was an article about a joint israeli/palestinian org #that's sole mission was just taking women & kids from the west bank on day trips to the beach #it took months of wrangling w/ passes and checkpoints to get a busful of kids to the beach #this was around when i was in middle or high school i think so maybe around 2007-2009

Jeny’s interlock cast off exactly mirrors the long-tail (and the backward loop) cast on AND is a very good stretchy bind off.

This baby sweater is knit bottom up, but I made the sleeves top down, picking up stitches around the armhole, so to get the same edge on the ribbing, I did the long-tail cast on on the body and the interlock cast off on the sleeves.

There is so much amazing about this. It's an archeological museum in 530 BCE or so. Also, the exhibits are labeled in three languages. Also they apparently had replicas on display for some things, much like modern museums do.

Humanity has not really changed that much, and some of the ways in which we haven't changed are really good.

So much stuff gets left out on the curb. Wealthy college students tend to prioritize convenience over money, so instead of carefully reselling their perfectly good stuff, they frequently give it away or put it out with the trash because that's easier than moving, reselling, or donating. Take advantage of this.

I furnished pretty much my entire apartment from college giveaways and yardsales.
