Bi women are not rehab centres for lesbians who are struggling with the patriarchy
Girl in Red just did an interview where she delved into a song she wrote about feeling gender and sexuality insecurity in her relationship with a bi woman.
The central idea is that it took (and continues to take) multiple deeply emotional conversations with her partner to begin to work through her insecurity that her partner will eventually prefer men, leave her for a man, and the fact she will never be a man. (and no, she's not struggling with gender issues or dysphoria personally, this is solely in reaction to her partner being attracted to males)
Combined with the comments under the clip, my little bi heart was shattered.
Biphobia is excused every single day and this comment section was filled with lesbians being really overtly biphobic and then cackling about the fact they were waiting for "the wave of screaming bis" to show up to 'claim biphobia'
Only.....can someone explain to me how it isn't fucking biphobia to make your partner walk you through a mental breakdown about THEIR SEXUALITY??
Genuinely explain to me how that isn't biphobic
I wouldn't date someone who hyperventilates over the thought that my hair is brown so why tf would I accept multiple deep-relationship convos about a basic fact my partner knew when they chose to date me?
Now, Girl in Red at the very least acknowledged that it wasn't cool, was 100% her problem etc, and in my opinion she has every right to explore that kind of thing in her art. But the way the comment section reacted was essentially "shut the fuck up bi women, you'll never know how insecure we are because of how you lot fuck dick and a lesbian writing a song about this is something you just can't comprehend"
There's a difference between exploring complex uncomfortable themes in a song, and deciding that it is logical and normal to treat your partner like this.

Where tf did OP say any if that?
The OP didn't even say there should be less folksy soft music, just more horny music. You decided that meant it would squeeze out folk music and took it as an attack in your preferred genre.
"What if we lived in a world where the lesbian music was all feral punk about fucking in abandoned buildings?"
What if the world was made of pudding?
Why are you making up a guy to get mad at, why are you wholesale putting up words no one said to box against?
I remember the backlash against 'Girls' for being about drinking and fucking for being "male pandering" because God forbid songs be about girls drinking and fucking for fun.
If you want to be in music, get a thicker skin. Taking someone saying 'we need more horny music' and making it 'calling femme-aesthetic folk music lovers coperate shills' is both insane and it's not going to serve you well the first time you get a critique on any song you put out.
