hey did you guys know i had died the tiniest death, i spied the catch in your breath, out, out, out, out, out, out, northbound i got carried away, as you boarded your train south, south, south, south, south, south, a feather taken by the wind blowing, i'm afflicted by the not knowing, so i look in people's windows, transfixed by rose-golden glows, they have their friends over to drink nice wine, i look in people's windows in case you're at their table, what if your eyes looked up and met mine one more time? you had stopped and tilted your head, i still ponder what it meant, now, now, now, now, now, now, i tried searching faces on streets, what are the chances you'd be downtown, downtown, downtown? does it feel alright to not know me? i'm addicted to the 'if only.' so i look in people's windows like i'm some deranged weirdo, i attend christmas parties from outside, i look in people's windows, in case you're at their table, what if your eyes looked up and met mine one more time?

#this being so short is so criminal agh #at least i also adore the longest song on the album but this deserved much more as well

At some point in your life, you were taught that being slightly annoying is an unforgivable sin. Maybe it was by your parents or a teacher or a friend or a bully or an older sibling. But someone taught you that being slightly annoying is a crime punishable by death.

You must unlearn this.

You must accept that all people will be annoying at some point or another in their lives, maybe all of their lives, and that this is okay. It is okay for strangers on the bus, it is okay for children in the grocery store, it is okay for people on social media, and it is okay for you.

If you ever want to truly love your fellow humans, if you ever want to truly love yourself, you must have forgiveness for being annoying.

"we learned the right steps to different dances" is such a beautiful way to explain that nobody did anything wrong but it does not work out if you have different goals or different ideals of life, maybe sometimes things don't work out and it is nobodys fault

it really showcases how quickly young people develop and change when just two years ago, billie eilish did her infamous happier than ever album cycle, which was highly sexualised, blonde Marilyn Monroe style, and she swore up and down that that was her, she was confident about herself, and that she knew what she was doing.

Now for this new album cycle, when talking about her previous era, she says that that wasn't her, she lost who she was and felt like a different person, that everything got to her, she couldn't see herself objectively, and that her first album was so much more of who she is and she wants to return to that girl again.

It took just three years. Which I and anyone can heavily relate to, feeling like you know who you are in the moment, but every single year you look back and feel like that you a year ago was too young to understand, but then the you now will be in the same position in a year.

That's why though I have criticized her, I still feel a ton of empathy for her and her position, and try to support her. She's having to go through that societal grooming we all go through on a much bigger scale and on the public stage.

#dont really get what there would have been to criticize her for but overall yeah.....
