one of the things i really enjoy seeing explored with ed in fic is that thing where you emerge from a long-term high-stress situation and as soon as your brain registers that its finally safe for you to process things it starts taking itself apart for deep-cleaning and now youre spending half your time as an unprotected pile of goo

which obviously is a situation that lends itself to a lot of delicious hurt/comfort and thats what i usually like it for. however

today i am thinking abt ed suffering from interrupted sleep when he’s stressed, which is Ever, so he’s consistently tired but doesn’t really have any success in fixing it

until he gets out of the life that was stressing him out. and acquires a cuddle partner. and gradually stops feeling like he has to watch his own back all the time. so now stede’s got this boyfriend who makes a habit of napping on him in the middle of the day because he gets sleepy when he feels safe and he feels safe when stede’s around

Someone said yes to the double sandwich slap that broke Nathan.

It’s no wonder the fans of this show are running around yes-and-ing each other with art and memes and fics and muppets.

Con is right - we all need to reach out for that yes, in every aspect of our creative lives. That’s when the cool shit happens.

just thinking about how someone actually sat down and wrote the nose jar into existence. like…someone came up with the character Spanish Jackie, and then they were like hmmm what if she had a jar where she kept the severed noses of her enemies, and then they were like hell yeah that rules—we should devote multiple minutes of our extremely limited screen time to said jar, which will then become a relevant device in more than one plot beat across both seasons.

With utter sincerity, I just fucking love these writers so much

Okay but shoutout to David though. We all knew that he would indeed tell us if and when we reached the end, and he didn’t betray that trust. Our hope was not unfounded, and he was right there with us until he finally waved the white flag for us.

I’m so so fortunate that he’s our show runner, and my respect and appreciation for him know no bounds.

I'm glad this happened in the first place because jfc look at the world and look at the tv landscape right now, it's so surprising it was allowed to take off in the first place. it got a happy ending and yeah they never got to finish the story but they still told some of it and it changed so many lives and people even with the little it was offered. Through bloodied knuckles and clenched teeth, they still managed to tell a godsdamned good story because - good art endures. Fandoms older than us, older than the creators even have lasted and will outlast everyone.
