==> get the gossip from flertom
But you have to know!!
"What do you mean?" you ask in a whisper.
Flertom looks to her left and right before leaning in.
"...I'm pregnant."

Ask what kind of news Flertom means
Should you...? It feels like sensitive information. Something kept to family.

Marcille: While they're tied up with the festivities, look for any attending family... maybe even an estranged wife you can butter up and encourage towards reconciliation.
You are now MARCILLE.
Yes!! This is what you came for! The whole reason for organizing this party! Well okay maybe not the whole reason. But a pretty big part of that whole!
Your eyes dart around the room, checking to see where Chilchuck's daughters are. Mayjack's quietly sipping beer in the corner, Puckpatti is dancing with her father, and... hey, where's the middle daughter?
You eventually find Flertom coming out of the bathroom. You gently approach her, making sure not to ACCOST her.
"Flertom!! Where's... you know..."
"—Oh! You mean... Mama?"
"Yes!" you say in a loud whisper. "I was hoping you'd bring her along!"
"Ah. The thing is..."
"Oh no, she doesn't want to come?"
"It's not that! It just. Might be a bit awkward? Given the whole. Situation."
"I know, but I think Chilchuck would really want to see her!! At least for his birthday. Don't you want to see your parents make amends?"
"I do, but... I kind of have something to tell Papa too. It might overwhelm him if he gets the news and sees Mama."

>Join a traditional half foot dance
Chilchuck's pretty buzzed from all the beer. He starts dancing a little jig, which from your travels you know to be a traditional half-foot dance.
Tumblr media
The other half-foots start clapping their hands and singing a song to accompany his dancing.
♫ Tim be nimble, Tim be quick, In the moonlight, he'll do a trick! Jumping over mushrooms, without a slip, With his half-foot grace, he'd never trip! ♫ ♫ Tom be sprightly, Tom be fleet, Among the flowers, his dance so sweet! Skipping over sea and foam, In Kahka Brud, he'll find his home! ♫
They eventually link arms with Chilchuck and start dancing as well. Even Mickbell joins in eventually.
"Come on!" Chilchuck says, gesturing for everyone to join.
You do your best to follow the steps, but obviously you're not as light on your feet as a half-foot. They seem to appreciate the gesture though.
((The picture of Chilchuck dancing is from Daydream Hour. I specifically sourced the image from here and edited it a bit!))

>Find the best spot to hide at for the surprise
You do so. Everyone gets into places, you see Chilchuck open the door, and...
"SURPRISE!"
Marcille conjures up a lightshow and big glowing letters that say Happy 30th Birthday, Chilchuck!
Senshi unveils his cake, and the festivities start.
>==>
You approach Chilchuck and personally hand him your gift.
"Happy birthday."
He opens it.
"Oh thanks, Kabru! I appreciate it."
"..."
"What is it?"
"You knew about the surprise beforehand, didn't you? Half-foots have sensitive hearing," you tease him.
Chilchuck gives an awkward smile.
"Well... Yeah. I did. But I wanted Marcille to be happy so I acted surprised."
"That's good at least."
"Was I convincing?" he asks you.
"I'd say you were."
"Hahaha. You really always watch people like a hawk, don't you?"
"Think of it as a survival tactic," you reply.
.
The party is now in full swing. What do you do?

>Kabru: try to hide from Falin that she reminded you about the CONSTANT THOUGHTS that you're not sure if you want to STRANGLE laios (metaphorically) for his many WEIRD MANNERISIMS, or have a SLOPPY MAKE-OUT SESSION with his stupid, beautiful face
You are once again KABRU.
What is happening what is happening what is happening
You are most certainly not constantly thinking about how great Laios is. I mean you are, but not in that way. No! What is this!! And being in a carriage ride with his sister is not helping!!! The more you learn about him, the more you realize what a great guy he is. No, Kabru. Stop. Bad Kabru. What would your teammates think. You're supposed to be the smoothtalker, the face of the group, the one whose thoughts are always a secret. And now some idiotic lunk is destroying all that?? Argh!!
Can't this thing go any faster??
"We're here," the coachman says. Oh. Well that was convenient.
You and Falin alight in front of Chilchuck's LOCKSMITH SHOP in the neighboring city of KAHKA BRUD. He also lives here - alone, it seems, but there are always people coming and going, especially half-foots who need his help with various endeavors.
The door opens just a bit.
"Pssst!" Marcille whispers. "Over here!"
She waves her wand and you feel a spell cast over you.
"It's a silence and invisibility spell. Walk quickly because he'll be here any minute!"

>Falin: tell a fun memory about laios to try to get kabru to open up more
"Y'know, when Laios and I were growing up we always wondered what we'd end up doing. I knew I wanted to study magic, but Laios was pretty stumped. 'I just want to see the world!' he said."
Kabru chuckles. "So he's always been like that."
"Maybe! Oh, did I ever tell you about this one time someone joined our adventuring party just because she had a crush on him? She wasn't even interested in exploring the dungeon!!"

Potental Phillpine monsters you could eat
Amomongo Described as ape or monkey like, and people eat bush meat, so their is that, plus angry apes are a standered in monster D&D like systems... Bakunawa Form my Galancings, it seems to be Sea serpent, but I can feel it is soppused to be something a bit more than that...
Busaw I bring them up,cause it grows Root Vegetables, So it might habe anything form Mandrake to Potatos. Plus it might try harvest the bodies of adventures who met an unfortunate fate...
Sigbin I mean it might be a spirit, Demon, or something else, but it could also be a very weird goat. Berberoka Probably rubbery due to hunting tencinic, but hey, lotta of fish. Might need to add a reason why they are so afraid of crabs...
Tigmamanukan I dont think a eating a Omen bird is a good idea, but probably has a lot of Mana and Vit D
Ooh, thanks for sending this over! These are really cool. To address these:
Amomongo sounds like a really aggressive ape. Good lower-middle level monster.
The Bakunawa is more of a singular being, plus it's said to be big enough to swallow the moon. This makes it more of a cosmic entity. Maybe, in Dungeon Meshi terms, it's a demon? Rather than The Pig or The Winged Lion, it's The Eel. (I also ramble about the Bakunawa's role in my OCverse here.)
I'm thinking the gang could eat specifically the vegetables grown by the busaw rather than the busaw itself (hopefully). I imagine there's something unique about the vegetables - a magical quality such as granting invisibility, maybe?
Sigbin could be your standard shapeshifting monster, alternating between a dog, pig, chicken, or fish to escape/pursue enemies.
Berberoka's interesting. It's described as an ogre, but we can just make it a bit less humanoid for the purpose of a Dungeon Meshi-type story.
As you said, the tigmamanukan is an omen bird; maybe its gimmick is that it causes misfortune within the area. Additionally, since in Tagalog mythology it's specifically a ward of the god Bathala, here maybe it's like the "eyes" of the dungeon lord?

Character sheet for Mikulia for Loop Breakers, my Evillious TTRPG where you journey into the OSS era to save the members of the Court End. She's there specifically for Eve!
Mikulia was fun to make a character sheet for because despite being a supporting character, she was pretty fleshed out - she's a Held devotee, she grew up in a village, etc. It was also interesting to translate her skill in floral arrangements to something mechanically useful as an ability.
Transcript under the cut.
Mikulia Greeonio
Main Trait: Florist Beloved By All Weakness: Dimwitted Bonus Traits: Staunch Held Devotee, Cheerfully In Denial
Stats
Agility 2 Heart 4 Might 0+1 Poise 3 Wits -1
Abilities
Raised on a Farm: You gain +1 Might, and tasks involving physical labor such as planting seeds or building things are so easy for you that you can do them twice as fast as a normal person.
See Through You: Your charisma is so strong that once a scene you can ask someone a single question and compel them to answer truthfully no matter what.
Flower of the Plateau: You’ve got a knack for floral arrangements and decoration, and can make something breathtakingly beautiful using only the barest of materials.
Dance of Roses: You can perform a dance so captivating that anyone present must roll Poise against your Heart to break free from the distraction.
Herbalist: Once a scene you can brew a potion out of flowers and other ingredients found in nature. It grants either +1 on a chosen stat to whoever drinks it or another effect you agree upon with the GM. The effect lasts until the end of the scene.

>Falin: Contemplate diplomatic relationship with the elven kingdom
Kabru tries to change the subject.
"...A letter from Queen Pyria came the other day. She's inviting Laios to the Midsummer Ball."
You pause. You know elves, especially the western ones, mean business.
"Did you tell him?"
"No. It's a trap - he'll attend, have some social bungle, and make Melini look bad."
"Grrr..."
The elves you attended school with (aside from Marcille of course) were snooty show-offs who always thought they were the superior magic users.
You're no diplomat yourself, but you know that Queen Pyria and her subordinates are keeping an eye on the Golden Kingdom. They're buddy-buddy on the surface, but they're obviously trying to keep tabs on what Melini will look like. If it's advantageous for them, they'll try to ally with you. If not, they'll bleed you dry, or worse, take you out. Elves are long-term schemers.
"I won't tell him if you don't want him to go. Or maybe we can tell him together and convince him not to? I trust your decision..." you tell Kabru.
"Thanks."

what monster would you have wanted to have the dungeon meshi crew try to cook up
Hey there! I'm assuming this is an ask and not a command for the story.
I would have loved to see a monster from Philippine mythology. Ryoko Kui seems to be aware of Philippine culture (one of the dishes is balut) so it'd have been nice to see one. Granted, Dungeon Meshi's monsters are mostly from western fantasy, so it's understandable. Plus, most of Philippine mythology's monsters would be demihumans by that standard so no dice anyway.
Speaking of which, have you checked out my Dungeon Meshi ttrpg? :))

>Talk about how the carriage is going to get to the surface. Possibly via the new ELEVATOR powered by WHIRRING GEARS and/or MAGICAL MECHANISMS?
The carriage journey started from the front gates, which were already on the surface!
However, the part of the dungeon that didn't cave in hosts your Magic Field School (name pending!). To get to and from there, you go by elevator. There was an old dwarven one, but it was long in disrepair. Thankfully Namari fixed it up before resuming her work as a TRAVELING MECHANIST! You heard she's making a decent living out of it - she already paid off her father's debt a while back. Good for her!
Going back to your project, it's a field school in the sense that very little time is spent in a classroom. You're always exploring the caves or out in the wilderness!! Magic is a part of nature, and the best way to learn about nature is to experience it. Marcille contributes her knowledge of the ELVEN MAGIC SYSTEM, while you train students in the GNOMISH MAGIC SYSTEM. But you're developing your own - a fusion of both systems, plus a few methods and theories you came up with yourself. It's gonna be so cool.
Kabru's reply to you brings you out of your daydreaming.
"That's nice to hear."
He just smiles awkwardly and looks out the window.

Tumblr media
You activate your KEEN DRACONIAN SENSES. Just kidding, you just have a really strong sense of intuition.
Could Kabru have feelings for your brother?? Romantic feelings???? That's great and all - fantastic really! - but he'll need your help. From how you know Kabru, he's not very upfront when it comes to how he feels, not even to himself.
You want to help him understand his feelings. You know better than anyone how unrequited love can hurt people (poor Shuro).
"When Marcille and I were studying together, we didn't get along at first," you start to explain. "But then she helped me with the things I wasn't really good at, and our bond deepened. I hope you and Laios get to be like that."

Once upon a time, there was a kingdom of love blossoming under the waters of a river.
People who lived above cried out: ”We are hungry! We are cold!”
The muse of the kingdom felt pity for these poor wretches. In her mercy, she turned them all into crocodiles, making them part of her kingdom. They lived underwater, and never knew suffering again.
Now, every time you see a crocodile weep, know that it is crying tears of joy.
—"Ang Alamat ng Buwaya" by Huseng Paksiw

WHEN THE CROCODILES WEEP is a ttrpg inspired by the various myths surrounding the Pasig River. It tells the story of the Obispo family and their dealings with the Riverine Saint, Doña Jeronima. Parallel to this, the higher-existence saints debate with that same Jeronima in a metaphysical world known as the Retablo.
Follow the stories of:
Cesar, a political heir struggling to fill his father's shoes. His patron is Bernardo Carpio, Saint of Toil.
Malaya, an activist journalism student uncovering her family's dark secrets. Her patron is Flerida, Saint of Truth.
Kulas, a slacker musician challenged by Doña Jeronima to solve her riddles in the Retablo. His patron is Pilandok, Saint of Trickery.
Fely, a young but macabre bookworm regaining her memories as her patron Asuang, Saint of Damnation.
Hope you can check it out!
