I started crying today at the museum because they had reconstructed the shoes of Otzi the iceman.

Either he or someone he knew who cared about him made these shoes out of grass and bear skin and twine and he was wearing them when he died over five thousand years ago.

And a Czech researcher and his students did reconstructions of these shoes and wore them to the same place where he died to test them out and they were like yep! These shoes are really cozy and comfy and didn’t give us blisters while hiking!

Is that not just the coolest shit ever????

my 2022 highlight was when a guy was driving me home after a date and his phone was playing songs on youtube thru the aux on autoplay BUT he was also using it as a satnav so we had to just cope with whatever song came on. anyway we listened to the isolated vocals for "eye of the tiger" in silence because neither of us acknowledged it and it got to a certain point where it would be even weirder if one of us did say something

And as you can guess, the video is absolutely awful, and the speaker uses a study with bisexual women to claim that “SeXuAliTy iS FlUiD” and not innate.

A lot of the comments that praised this video were of course bisexuals, and religious nuts.

This is what feminists mean when we talk about pedophile culture. Why does the filter make her look like a max. 12 years old? Why does she use it? Why is the rest of her body clearly of an adult woman? Is it because she simply likes it? Or because this kind of look generates the most traffic? really tired of women’s clothes (or rather, “feminine clothes”) being described as “flirty”. like, “a fun, flirty dress for the summer” and it’s a midi length dress with ruffles or some shit. what about clothing is flirty? like i know it’s intended to be a style and not an actual invitation, but it still bothers me & feeds into the whole “what was she wearing” thing
