Launchpad asks Della to teach him to pilot according to actual rules and such so he can impress Drake, Della says no because like hell is she going to do anything that, in her eyes, might help Launchpad to replace her, but then the kids and/or Scrooge ask why she won't help and she can't think of an excuse, so she agrees in order to not upset her family, but seeing how much they all like LP only makes her angrier. Meanwhile, he's still convinced that they'll be friends by the end of the lesson.

So, when I was first thinking about who could be the one forcing Della to teach Launchpad, my first conclusion was that it have to be a character that is especially attached to both of them, this raises obviously two specific characters: Scrooge, who is for both a paternal figure, and Dewey, who thinks his mother is the coolest person ever and who considers LP his bestest of friends (dare I say, sort in a big bro fashion).

Now, with these new theories I feel that in the end it could Dewey, Della's whole journey is about being a mother and accepting change and as much as she doesn't like LP, he is still Dewey's BFF and sort of big brother, and she has to accept that.

Probably the whole Pilot License stuff it is raised by Drake himself, and LP, whose whole thing is DW and being able to help, wants to show him he can be a proper partner by attaining the license and prove he is competent enough at flying for him and, as always as something important happens, LP confides in his best friend about this. And who is the other competent pilot Dewey knows?

"Hey, maybe you could ask my mom to teach you properly!" LP is excited with the idea! (Or maybe, if they let us see a little more, he's actually hesitant). LP asks her, but when she is about to reject it (or while she rejects him) Dewey appaers and it is just like "oh cool, mom, I see you met my best friend, you gonna teach him to fly, right?" And is she going to let her son down? The one that accepted her completely, no questions asked? Damn. No. But that doesn't make her less suspicious that he could be doing this to replace her, and what's worse, Dewey seems to adore him. Anxiety, anxiety....

Fast enough, it turns into a competition. It's one-sided at first and LP truly thinks she is trying to teach him properly, but she keeps pushing and pulling and, slowly but surely, getting under LP's skin.

Maybe everything explodes because Della accuses him of being the Bad Guy and purposelly trying to replace her, but this time more specifically with Dewey as proof?, LP explodes at her too, he explodes for the first time ever, and this could be emphasized if Dewey is there and it's surprised at LP's reaction. Maybe all this happens while the plane is falling down and at the end they have to work together to stop it? Maybe the plane malfunctions and Della tries to gain control and as LP tries to help she snaps at him? Maybe LP is the one that regains control of the plane, proving himself as being just as competent as Della? Maybe they accept they will never get along, but Della will teach him and he will get that license because nothing can't stop Della Duck and maybe she doesn't like him, but her son does and that's enough for her to accept he is family? Maybe Launchpad is confronted with the strange realization that he's probably never going to be friends with Del, but that these competitions, this rivalry, has actually made him a better pilot, and ultimately that what he needs now, for the license, to prove to Drake that he can be his partner?

Whatever happens, it sure is gonna be interesting and bring these two to confront their issues and accept some truths about themselves!!

People’s reactions when a woman says she isn’t interested in a man that is interested in her are absolutely terrifying and disgusting. They honestly think the man’s right to have her is more important than her lack of interest. Like, because he is interested in her he deserves to have exactly what he wants and she is supposed to just ignore her lack of connection and put her feelings aside and cave to his desires. ‘Give him a chance’ and ‘you might grow to like him’ and every other excuse in the book is just a dressed up version of ‘he wants you and your opinion and feelings don’t matter at all because your life is secondary to his’

DON’T SCROLL PAST THIS

for the last 2+ weeks, the Amazon has been catching fire. Yes, it’s the season where that’s normal but because of the sayings (aka incentive) of our new president, some farmers are taking advantage of that and intentionally setting the trees on fire. Yesterday, because of this, the sky of São Paulo looked like this. AT THREE IN THE AFTERNOON.

Hospitals of the northern states are filling up with people (especially children and seniors) claiming they can’t breathe properly. ALREADY ENDANGERED ANIMALS ARE DYING. THIS IS SERIOUS.

Germany and Norway, huge donators to the Amazon cause will stop sending money because they don’t see results (that can also be credited to our president, who has been tweeting angrily ever since - not because he cares about the environment, btw). That money gives this guy and his team equipment to save little guys like these:

THIS AFFECTS EVERYONE, NOT JUST BRAZILIANS. The Amazon is the largest rainforest in the world, and it’s being destroyed. WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING.

If your country is holding elections, vote for someone who cares about this. Don’t let another Bolsonaro or another Trump have the power to do something and then do nothing. This is going to shape our future — if we have one.
