I’ve seen some mental health talk that like is icky and some that is like acknowledging an unfortunate reality if that makes sense? Idk. Maybe it’s impacted by working in mental health but I see both sides and it sucks. Like when someone’s partner leaves them and they are trying to get better but it’s too slow that sucks for them. But I also work with people who have partners who aren’t choosing ti get help that is accessible to them and instead make choices that make things worse. The most exhausting part of the narratives personally are seeing bad takes about things I am like actually informed about but it is what it is! I’m having a good time with the music and blorbos
Oh for sure!! There's so many complexities and every relationship is unique in that there's never equanimity at least in how each partner perceives the other's contribution to the relationship, and it definitely isn't easy to manage a relationship when one or both partners are struggling with mental health issues but people do make it!! The hope is so crucial! But God yeah in terms of this album the conversations generated around mental health overall are wild. I'm happy correlating the songs to my blorbos/my own life

idk why people see it like she called him a bad partner cause he couldn't get better... why doesn't it mean that your partner maybe refused to work on themselves to help you make this relationship work... i'm someone who has attachment issues and while i needed my partner to understand them and like do things to calm me i also made him struggle with me cause i couldn't work on myself. same for him he also had attachment problems that he refused to work on and made my life hell... almost pushed me to su*cide. he would refuse to leave but he also would never lift a finger to do this for us and never gave me the chance to help him either. i was mad at him cause he knew what's up yet he dragged me along and left me to deal with it alone... what if it just means "why didn't you let me help you? why didn't you even try to help yourself? why did you drag me into it knowing full well that This Is It?
idk but like as a person with mental illness i'm extremely aware of how this affects my relationships and could even hurt my partners and that doesn't mean I'm bad or that if they can't handle some of it if they're also bad.. but the worst feeling is to be dragged along with a person who promised you so much yet they knew they can't work on themselves when it comes to this and isn't even giving you the chance to help them.. then you end up stuck.. just can't leave but also you can't stay.
just sharing my thoughts please tell me how you see the situation
I don't think she's called him a bad person at all, in fact if you look at all songs on ttpd hinting at her relationship with joe, there's just sadness and dismay at things not working out. It's only swifties who still feel compelled to villainize him. And I agree, sometimes things get so suffocating you have to leave and it doesn't make the person who walked out inherently bad! It's just a sad, really heartbreaking situation

Swifites and making the worst most tasteless jokes meme's and never letting them go even when their not longer relevent (look at YB jokes after Taylor found Travis et al et cetera) is just how it apperently is on here. Sucks.
during the red/1989 era i used to get so protective of taylor + swifties whenever someone irl called us out for being too obsessive and look how far we've come.

I still see people twisting shit so hard to fit their predetermined narratives they invented out of thin air between when the break up was announced and today. Like, come on people, we just got new music, don't you have blorbo's to make it about, or real life situations to relate it to or or or or or a dozen others which aren't related to Taylor. Did you not hear The Manuscript?
Literally this like WHY are fans so hung up on One Man who has stayed in his lane and done nothing to provoke them except maybe exist lol???

yeah. I'm the person who said they feel uncomfortable in swiftie communities at the moment, and I think that:
nobody is morally obligated to stay with a partner who is bad for them for ANY reason, but also
being mentally ill isn't a moral failing, and it's really shit that people seem so quick to jump to that, AND
people always seem to forget that mental illness is often chronic and complicated and can fluctuate over time. someone can have their symptoms get worse while they're in a relationship and that sucks, but it is just a thing that happens sometimes
people just aren't ready to deal with the reality of mental illness because they've been too busy turning it all into relatable memes (see: "grippy sock vacation" (which is gross!))

THIS! or creating an aesthetic around the romanticizable (if that's even a word lol) aspects of it.
