i just know grrm was giggling like a school girl as he threw blonde haired purple eyed edric in between arya looking like lil lyanna and gendry with his baratheon af genes. a single glimpse of this scene wouldve sent ned stark off the deep end.
also
Ned was trying to apologize for upsetting her, but she did not want to hear it. She pressed her heels into her horse and left them both.
arya choosing to ride off from them both is def a reference to the lyanna, rhaegar, bobby b situation. tbh i really cant see arya risking it all for some nerd with a harp.....

Why is it always people who don't even like Arya trying to police how we speak about her? They clearly don't read her chapters and couldn't come up with five things they like about her to save their lives, yet they're always worrying about what we have to say. They really can't stand that we don't view her as a one-dimensional prop for another character 🥴

Arya, in the North, where she belongs.
I feel that Arya is the most Northern of Stark children and that Bran has the strongest connection to the Winterfell. They’re my favorite Starks. Also Ned and Jon.

i don't ship jonrya (gendrya it's the one for me tbh) but i swear it bothers me so much that people in this fandom like to discard jonrya like something absurd, that really has no foundation in the books (i can only think of one jon's ships that is like this and it's not jonrya let me tell you) when we have time and time again in both of arya and jon's chapters actually shown how they are so devoted to eachother, making one of the strongest bonds in the entire series, even if you don't take the og outline (jonrya endgame) in consideration:
in agot:
"And Arya…he missed her even more than Robb, skinny little thing that she was, all scraped knees and tangled hair and torn clothes, so fierce and willful. Arya never seemed to fit, no more than he had…yet she could always make Jon smile. He would give anything to be with her now, to muss up her hair once more and watch her make a face, to hear her finish a sentence with him."
and:
"She would have given anything if Jon had been here to call her “little sister” and muss her hair."
in acok:
"When at last she slept, she dreamed of home. The kingsroad wound its way past Winterfell on its way to the Wall, and Yoren had promised he’d leave her there with no one any wiser about who she’d been. She yearned to see her mother again, and Robb and Bran and Rickon . . . but it was Jon Snow she thought of most. She wished somehow they could come to the Wall before Winterfell, so Jon might muss up her hair and call her “little sister.” She’d tell him, “I missed you,” and he’d say it too at the very same moment, the way they always used to say things together. She would have liked that. She would have liked that better than anything."
and:
"As he rode, Jon peeled off his glove to air his burned fingers. Ugly things. He remembered suddenly how he used to muss Arya’s hair. His little stick of a sister. He wondered how she was faring. It made him a little sad to think that he might never muss her hair again. He began to flex his hand, opening and closing the fingers. If he let his sword hand stiffen and grow clumsy, it well might be the end of him, he knew. A man needed his sword beyond the Wall."
their current companions remind them of eachother:
“NO!” Arya and Gendry both said, at the exact same instant. Hot Pie quailed a little. Arya gave Gendry a sideways look. He said it with me, like Jon used to do, back in Winterfell. She missed Jon Snow the most of all her brothers.
and romantic interests too:
Ygritte trotted beside Jon as he slowed his garron to a walk. She claimed to be three years older than him, though she stood half a foot shorter; however old she might be, the girl was a tough little thing. Stonesnake had called her a “spearwife” when they’d captured her in the Skirling Pass. She wasn’t wed and her weapon of choice was a short curved bow of horn and weirwood, but “spearwife” fit her all the same. She reminded him a little of his sister Arya, though Arya was younger and probably skinnier. It was hard to tell how plump or thin Ygritte might be, with all the furs and skins she wore.
and i want to end with one of my favourite arya's quotes:
“I know where we could go,” Arya said. She still had one brother left. Jon will want me, even if no one else does. He’ll call me “little sister” and muss my hair. It was a long way, though, and she didn’t think she could get there by herself. She hadn’t even been able to reach Riverrun. “We could go to the Wall.”
so... no, the idea of jon x arya is not strange at all actually

I know I talk about it a lot, but it's the heart and home stuff that really gives me pause in regards to how much Jon and Arya mean to one another. It's not just the comparisons between Ygritte and Arya, or Arya constantly being on Jon's mind and vice versa, or even the fact that George intended for the two of them to dream of each other, but the fact that she's called a dark heart and he calls his own heart black.
"You are cruel to come to my hill, cruel. I gorged on grief at Summerhall, I need none of yours. Begone from here, dark heart. Begone!" (Arya VIII, ASoS)
--
There is no way I can help her. I put all kin aside when I said my words. If one of my men told me his sister was in peril, I would tell him that was no concern of his. Once a man had said the words his blood was black. Black as a bastard's heart.
...
"The heart is all that matters. Do not despair, Lord Snow. Despair is a weapon of the enemy, whose name may not be spoken. Your sister is not lost to you."
"I have no sister." The words were knives. What do you know of my heart, priestess? What do you know of my sister?
Melisandre seemed amused. "What is her name, this little sister that you do not have?"
"Arya." His voice was hoarse. "My half-sister, truly…" (Jon VI, ADwD)
But the dark heart has another significance as well—it's a connector to Rhaegar. Robert said Rhaegar had a black heart and yet the one who made him happy enough to label the tower the tower of joy was Lyanna, who is very much so Arya's precursor.
It's the connections. They are fascinating.

Things Sansa stans need to stop doing:
-Downplaying Sansa’s bullying of Arya by calling it “just siblings being siblings” -Saying Arya would never have survived in Sansa’s place -Blaming Arya for Mycah’s death because “she shouldn’t have attacked the crown prince” or “she shouldn’t have been playing with the butcher’s boy” -Saying Arya is ugly because Sansa and Jeyne call her “horseface,” even though several other characters have called her pretty -Saying Arya is too damaged/broken to fit into normal society and have a family after the WftD -Saying Arya should die and live on in Nymeria so Sansa can have a direwolf again -Trying to make Jonsa happen in the books -On that note, stealing Jonrya quotes and making them about Jonsa -Saying Sansa was an outcast at Winterfell because she’s traditionally feminine -Saying Sansa is only disliked because she’s traditionally feminine -Saying Sansa is guaranteed to become Queen in the North in the books because she did in the show -Treating Sansa like she’s worthless unless she becomes queen and/or marries Jon -Comparing Dany to Hitler or any other RL dictator -Defending Sansa’s xenophobic attitude towards Dany -Calling Dany a tyrant for wanting to rule the 7k or because she killed rapists and slavers -Calling Dany a slave owner when her entire entourage is freedmen -Saying Dany was foreshadowed to go mad all along and refusing to acknowledge her actions in the last two episodes as OOC -Trying to give Sansa dragons or compare her to Targaryen queens (all the while bashing Dany) -Saying Dany not crying over her abusive brother’s death was a sign of her madness but not applying the same logic to Sansa smiling as her abuser was eaten by dogs -Celebrating Dany’s death and saying Jon will murder her in the books because he did in the show -Saying Dany abused Jon -Celebrating Missandei’s death because she had the nerve to criticize Sansa -Leaving negative comments on positive posts about Dany/Arya/any other female character -Sending anon hate to stans of Dany/Arya/any other female character
I could go on but I’d be here all day. If y’all really stan Sansa for her compassion, try showing some compassion to stans of other characters.

"He has lost the north," insisted Hosteen Frey. "He has lost Winterfell! His brothers are dead . . ." For a moment Arya forgot to breathe. Dead? Bran and Rickon, dead? What does he mean? What does he mean about Winterfell, Joffrey could never take Winterfell, never, Robb would never let him. Then she remembered that Robb was not at Winterfell. He was away in the west, and Bran was crippled, and Rickon only four. It took all her strength to remain still and silent, the way Syrio Forel had taught her, to stand there like a stick of furniture. She felt tears gathering in her eyes, and willed them away. It's not true, it can't be true, it's just some Lannister lie. - Arya X, ACoK

The illustration of "Front cover of La Vie Parisienne, 6th March 1926." immediately made me think of Arya in her mother's colors.

"Sansa bullied Arya? Oh so you think she's worse than Tywin Lannister, Gregor Clegane and Ramsay Bolton??" is such a hyperbolic, insincere and ultimately non-existent argument. Literally name one person who says this shit with any sort of sincerity, if at all lol
This is up there with "Talking about Arya's importance to the North means you think Jeyne Poole's life doesn't matter!!!" in terms of disningenous talking points.
It's only ever used to shut down any attempts at considering Arya's feelings and well-being when discussing the girls' relationship.
and no offense, but why are 🫵 YOU🫵 equating the acknowledgement of a fictional child's flaws with calling her a war criminal? why are you treating it like that?? 👀👀👀
I mean, this fandom regularly says Arya lacks morality for surviving war zones with violence. They consider her a walking tragedy whose story is about losing her humanity and becoming the ultimate killing machine. Everyday Dany gets called a N@zi Barbie for not abolishing slavery perfectly. But Sansa gets clocked as a mean girl bully in the first book and y'all fall apart at the seams at that?? C'mon now
