Into the unknown

“Ah, Halloween. It makes the heart happy.” Patton turns the lollipop in his mouth, savouring the sweet taste, before removing it with a popping sound. He smiles. “There’s something about it.”

“Oh, there’s many things about it.”

Leaves crackle as Janus saunters past him. As always, he is impeccably dressed, a long coat, hat and yellow gloves. He stares into the distance and Patton wonders what he is seeing there through the autumn mist.

“Yeah, I guess you’d like it.” Patton shoots a smirk at him. “Everyone all dressed up… disguised as someone else.”

Janus spins around, eyebrows contracted in honest disbelief. “How is it that we’ve had so many of these visits and you still know so little about me!”

“Uh… ‘cause you don’t tell me anything.” Patton shrugs, his chest feeling strangely tight.

“You’re right, I don’t.” Janus’s face is illegible, and full of so many changing emotions that Patton becomes dizzy as he tries to decipher them all. “No one is disguised here. It’s just a little… make-believe.”

Janus starts to stare into the distance again, into the unknown. Silently, Patton nods, somehow uncomfortable near a Janus who is suddenly tame and attentive, not sarcastic or sharp-tongued as usual. It is so incredible, so unfamiliar, so not Janus at all, that for seconds it feels as if reality has received a crack, like a broken mirror that can only depict a distorted picture of reality.

And as if that wasn’t unusual enough, Janus begins to sing. It’s soft and gentle and Patton feels (against his will) very receptive and exceedingly charmed by so much beauty.

‘It’s exactly that,’ thinks Patton stunned. It’s the soft and gentle underneath the impregnable fortress that makes it so hard to resist him. If Janus were just cold and insensitive through and through, how much easier it would make this whole situation.

But he is not. He’s just pretending. Make-believing…

Janus lies to the whole world, just as Patton does, because what is their silence, what is their not naming their feelings other than that? A huge lie that piles higher and higher the longer it remains unspoken.

“You know, maybe things are going to be okay,” Patton says in a voice filled with hope that is bubbling hot and consuming inside him. “Maybe they aren’t… just a fantasy.”

Janus turns to him and a single painfully convoluted emotion glides across his face. “Yes,” he says, sounding softer than usual. “Maybe.”

The loveliest lies of all.

i have like four exams this week but it’s also logan sanders’s birthday today, so.

The artblock won’t go away so I’m trying to mine some sketches out of it and sometimes it works. I was trying to get some pre-AA Virgil vibes, but I mostly ended up showing off my love for “putting layers over layers of clothes”. Which is very fine too.

I seem to be on my way to do all Major Arcanes, and, for some reason, also the Suit of Swords. Ah, well.

Today, I drew the Seven of Swords ; and who's better to incarnate a card about betrayal, deception, lies et keeping secrets than our one and onely Lord Of the Lies, Janus Sanders ?

Believe it or not, the swords were actually not easy to draw. I am no sword-person. So why draw the Suit of Swords ? Eh.

Upright, this card indicates theft, trickery, among other things : you may be trying to get away with something, or are being sneaky. You use cunning and deception to get the advantage in situations. On another note, it suggests that you may need to put yourself first to get that stuff you want, and grossly, don't hesitate to, ya know, attack the Piñata. Sometimes, you need to put your own needs first, even if other may not agree with you.

Reversed, the cards implies you feel like a fraud, that you are deceiving yourself, attempt to fool yourself that everything is okay when it's not. Il represents keeping secrets hidden from others, which may bring you stress, tension, along with guilt and shame.

I think you can see why I picked my favorite snake to represente the card !

That ask has been here forever :O I'm sorry for not answering it sooner. And, actually, I did not draw Nico- but I will, once we get to know him better. I already like him, but it's hard for me to draw a person without much vision on their personality :) Sooo I did took this for a free space ! And I draw a side that really grew on me over time, and steadily became one of my two favorites-

And yes ! I made a t a r o t card- I wanted to play on the constant Orange Side teasing (a little late, I agree, it's been forver since i last drew something for Sanders Sides) and it was the first idea that came to me. That, and also, I love designing card, and especially tarot card.

So ! I chose the Hermit. I don't think it's the best card to describe Logan (for a while I thought about the Chariot), but that's the one that inspired me the most.

Upright, the Hermit card is a sign of contemplation, search for truth (especially about oneself), inner guidance, and teaching- which is quite close to Logan's role on the serie. It does not encompass it all, but it's a beginning.

Reversed, the Hermit speaks for loneliness, isolation, and mostly : losing your way. It means the knowledges you have on yourself are shaken and challenged.

Turns out Virgil and Janus don't get along bc they both wanted to put the last piece in a puzzle they were working on and they couldn't stop arguing so Remus swallowed it when they weren't looking. They make up tearfully over champagne. Roman listens to Bubblegum Bitch and it fixes his self-esteem. Logan reads a self help book and has open and honest conversations about his feelings. C!Thomas gets a prescription for Adderall.

Ok gonna take a stab at this because there’s a bit more here than meets the eye!

Hello! I’m back with another theory that probably reads way too much into things!

Today’s analysis is Janus’ Patreon art! I‘ll attempt to interpret the art based on what we know.

And what we know is that Janus runs the Patreon page! So that means that Janus is behind the eerie style and aesthetic of the art!

Based on that, we can actually interpret that the designs are all Janus’ point of view! Meaning that each piece is how he interprets the sides!

And we can come to the conclusion that what Janus sees in all the sides is the things they want to hide about themselves. He is the liar, he knows when they lie.

So, let’s take a quick look at each piece!
