A. PRE-COLONIAL LITERATURE - sabi (maxims), bugtong (riddles), epics, and myths abound in pre-colonial literature. Most ethnolinguistic groups had folk tales, epics, poems, and marathon chants that were passed down through the generations.
SPANISH COLONIAL LITERATURE -
At the time of the invasion and conversion to Christianity, the Philippine ethnic groups' literature was primarily oral, consisting of epics, legends, ballads, riddles, and proverbs.
