'Dystopian History" (2023). Garment made of several pieces, experimenting with shape and form demonstrating an exaggerated representation (polyester satin, wire, boning, calico and ribbon)
Mood Board for the project "Place" which I interpreted as "A Place in Time", including reference (Jean Beraud, Vivienne Westward, Gaultier) research, illustration and shibori heat manipulation (2023).
Construction of sleeves, to continue this exaggerated theme I developed shoulder puffs, this included techniques such as pleating and gathering. Polyester satin, lined with calico (2023).
Calico hip pad; stuffed with wadding, to create scaffolding to hold the weight of fabric, while creating an emphasised shape. This image also shows, research, drawings and process (2023).
"Monster Project" (2023). The brief " Art as a Good Deed" was translated into creating a picture book where an imaginary monster friend came to life to comfort children. These are initial plasticine figures created to base my outcome around (ht: 40cms).
"Monster Project" (2023). Including some images from the storybook plus the process and outcome of the monster that came to life. Plaster, faux fur, marbles, styrofoam, wire- all from found waste material. Illustrations created in fine line and watercolour.
Mood Board for the project "Manifesto". This sheet includes research, drawing and ideas towards the creation of sustainable dungarees focussed on Welsh miners. Illustration, colour and fabric swatches, along with historical references (2022).
Canary bird pencil drawing and woodcut printed onto pocket. These birds were specifically used in mines to alert the presence of toxic gases, this seemed appropriate to include in my manifesto (2022)
Denim sampling in preparation of patchwork dungarees. I decided to go with the frayed patchwork (top middle) as it gave my desired look of a worn workwear garment (2022).
