Part of me thinks They should have just ended When Calls the Heart after Daniel left. Prolonged love triangles are NEVER a good idea. It split the fandom permanently and led to really wacky writing and characters that became very cringeworthy. Late In season 7, I started to get on board with her choosing Nathan, because it seemed like they were headed that way and I liked the chemistry. (However, the behavior of the nasty part of the Team Nathan fandom toward Chris/Lucas was always a huge turn off). When she picked Lucas, I was shocked and rather pleased that Hallmark dared to be a little different. (That bridge kiss was 🔥🔥). Of course, that was all thrown away brutally in season 10 and I now feel like this show has painfully overstayed its welcome. I’m to the point now where I’m like, just get Elizabeth and Nathan together and end this ridiculousness already! I hate soap operas and that is what WCTH has become. The actors deserve so much better!
