GREATEST CHALLENGES FACED BY LOGISTICS INDUSTRY

Nearly a quarter of the jobs in India are linked to the logistics industry, with road logistics occupying the majority share and India spends roughly 13% of its GDP on logistics, which is higher than the US, Europe, and Japan. While more spending would appear to imply improved logistics, this is not the case.

Total logistics costs in India range from 14 to 16 percent of GDP, compared to 8 to 10 percent in other developed economies. The market is highly unorganized and fragmented, there are no industry standards in place. Due to the involvement of middlemen, the cost of distribution rises for which the shippers are ultimately responsible for the total burden, and for carriers the lack of visibility on front-loads and return loads, eventually increases inefficiency.

Small business owners provide approximately 75% of the truck supply (with five or fewer trucks). Similarly, the vast majority of transporters in India are small and medium-sized transporters. According to some estimates, trucks can be idle for up to a quarter of the time due to inefficient demand/supply matching.

Freight waste contributes to higher costs in nearly every industry. However, the stakes are even higher in the freight industry. Waste in freight means that more fuel is consumed, more carbon is emitted, and drivers spend more time sitting idle. Empty miles are the primary form of freight waste. The preceding two points lead to the same conclusion i.e.

Changing lives of  Truck Drivers and their Families

Today’s is a corrupted world. Doesn’t matter if the industry is largest or smallest, there is a dark and ugly side behind every successful business. This side is usually overlooked, which closes the door to improvement and growth, thereby deteriorating the prevailing conditions.

‘Trucknetic' is a startup in the Logistics sector, w.e.f 2019, with an eternal aim to untwine the scrambled operations and policies of the Freight industry. Not only that, in addition, the aim is also to uplift society in all ways possible.

In the same spirit, team ‘Trucknetic' witnessed the condition of Truck Drivers in the Indian Freight Industry. It is disheartening and extremely unacceptable to pursue such practices. Truck drivers are usually deprived of fair compensation (in exchange for their tireless assistance, just to make sure the industry isn’t compromised), appropriate diet and rest along with physical and mental peace.

After long hours of research and meeting, certain policies were formulated to ensure relief for Truck Drivers at the same time, maintaining a good balance between the accounts. Therefore, it was aimed to hit two birds with a stone. That is, emancipating the lives of truck drivers and concentrating on the business at the same time. Our ‘No empty miles' program made sure,

It is an initiative by Team Trucknetic to empower the lives of Drivers, Fleet Owners and their Families. Through What The Truck we tend to show the dark and ugly side of the freight industry. We want to represent the driver and fleet owners and show their side of the story.

The idea is to raise funds through NFT(Keep calm and keep trucking) which depicts a few hundred drivers and their families associated with us. #whatthetruck is an initiative precisely aimed to cultivate the lives of the less privileged ones. Being a part of the society, our team addresses the following question: Why shall one category prosper at the cost of the other category?

Henceforth, through NFT, we are aiming to amass funds to brighten the darkness in their lives and raise the standard of living. As embarked on this journey, the funds will provide ignition to attain what we aimed for at the very beginning.
