the other day in BG3 i used karlach's superior strength to jump her up to a rafter and collect some loot, which would've been fine, except i'd forgotten to turn off group mode so astarion somehow followed her up there and got stuck. we left without him. i didn't even notice he was gone for a full half hour. was just like "wow it's real quiet around here all of a sudden." like leaving a baby at a service station

I don’t want to see a single person complaining about Wyll fans being too whiny about this latest patch. Everyone got new stuff for their romances. Everyone got new content. Except for Wyll. What did Wyll get? His main quest reduced to a side quest with no new content or main quest to replace it or make up for the content disparity. Still no romance dialogue. Bugged kisses. Just once again being completely and totally sidelined by Larian but this time the disparity is more blatant than usual. Because, again, everyone got new content. Theres not like a slowly increasing gap between each companion where Wyll just happens to have the least. The gap between him and Astarion is huge and just becoming bigger. And other companions content is getting closer to Astarion’s and Wyll’s just isn’t. Even the gap between him and Karlach is noticeable. People love to complain about the lack of content Gale gets (I am a gale romancer don’t even think about trying to lecture me on this istg) yet the gap for content between him and Wyll is fucking huge and you can’t even pretend it isn’t. If Gale needs more content then wtf is going on with Wyll? Why are fans and Larian themselves so happy to sideline him? It’s completely fucking ridiculous and no one has a right to tell Wyll fans to shut up or that they’re being too negative or their complaints are invalid

Edit: even though nobody is looking at the original post and just rbs. Part of his main quest was not turned into a side quest. It became a sub quest. Still sounds bad. Aka they reformatted the journal. Larian just does not know how to word things. Still upsetting to me because the content disparity is ridiculous but I did want to clarify for those who have played the latest patch and noticed what Larian actually meant by the “we changed part of Wyll’s quest to a sub quest”

the person who made the improved UI mod for bg3 has a doc with all the current known bugs in patch 6 , which are base game related and

honestly , i am so fucking tired of larian.

this is why you fix existing bugs first instead of constantly churning out new half baked content.

im not gonna go into who calls the shots on priorities, i dont work for them, but i do work in gaming and i know ideally you're supposed to fix stuff first cause, every time you add something new, there's a chance something old will break.

i also understand that some bugs are hard to fix, but its ok to take time..

i guess it doesnt really matter tho, ppl are eating up whatever they put out so who cares... but i just wanna also share what Peach said in their doc at the end cause they are completely fking right

it is, i think, symptomatic of the way larian has built this brand: bg3 was always marketed as being mature (read: sexual), and that was one of the big draws for players - myself included! especially as media pulls more towards extremes, with mainstream video games starting to get increasingly graphically sexual, graphically violent, and the vogue for 'grey morality' becomes the norm, those boundaries get pushed, and it becomes more and more of a selling point.

larian obviously focused on this, along with the How Do You Do, Fellow Kids brand, the increased accessibility of game devs on twitter, and adopted it heavily into their marketing strategy, and are now pretty reliant on the horny gamer crowd for a lot of their audience, and more importantly, they're doing this on purpose.

which is how you end up in situations like this.

characters (white men) the players want to fuck get centred: they get updates, they get more content, they get favoured. halsin's gone from a side character in EA to a half-fledged romance option, to a full romance option: he shows up in the promotional material, is larian's poster boy for the sex scenes, he gets more content with every update.

now gortash gets more heavily implied situationship lines with the dark urge, because players are horny for him. nevermind that some people aren't playing that way, or that he was originally set up to be a lower-level antagonist; nevermind that if the durge's storyline needed expansion, it should've been with orin and sarevok and bhaal, or that it muddies the writing for the rest of gortash's arc + characterisation: people want to fuck him, so it gets put in the game. it's not even to do with karlach, whose quest so desperately needs expansion! it's specifically catering to the people who want their character to have a Relationship with the slaver, because they're either not interested in or not able to focus on strengthening the weak spots in the narrative: they're just doing things that will net the 'my favourite dating sim' people lmfao.

meanwhile, literal main character wyll gets his quest demoted to a subquest, doesn't get bugfixes, doesn't get a single unique romance greeting after 6 patches and months of requests. he's not a Horny character, so he doesn't get the focus: he's not a player favourite, so he gets nothing. it's just... so unbelievably, indisputably racist, and it's incredibly grim and disappointing to watch it happen in real-time.

Hello writer at Larian its me jigsaw. In front of you is a pen and a writing pad. You will write a revised set of endings for wyll, add more scenes and unique interactions, and write more origin specific lines that trigger when you play as Wyll. If you cannot do this within four hours- roughly the disparity in scenes between Astarion and Wyll- I will latch this ravenous leech directly onto your eyeball. Not such a big fan of bloodsuckers now, are you?

another patch another day in which Wyll is set aside to prop up the white male characters. another patch in which he is reduced an even smaller role despite arguably being one of the most important characters central to the plot. another patch in which pleas from fans are ignored in favor of giving more content to the white male characters.

disappointed but not surprised. if you haven't already, please reach out to larian and voice your disappointment and concern. so many of us already have but the more the (hopefully) bigger the impact.

People do not talk enough about how amazing Lae'zels voice acting is. Devora Wilde put her whole ass pussy into some of those lines but nobody pays attention and calls laezel one note and angry. But have you listened? Have you heard her voice shake as she cries "what good - this heart of stone - for it to be shattered?" Have you heard the conviction where she declares that Vlaketh has sinned against her? Have you listened to the fear in her voice, the slight tremble when she is talking of becoming a mindflayer and the way that she has utter awe in her tones when she experiences something that is truly spiritual to her? Like. It's such a subtle and great performance.

1) You should assume good faith (good intentions, the most flattering interpretation of their speech) when taking with people, 2) it is normal to do so unless you have a serious, ongoing reason as to not do so, and 3) if you do not regularly approach people, especially strangers, in good faith during discussions, then that is a sign of something wildly unhealthy within your psyche.
