I’m crying omg. My heart. How have I not seen ppl ship trey and riddle
Overblot! Riddle Translation (Very Bad)
I didn’t do this for anyone in particular. I wanted to make a rewrite of the scene, so I had to understand what everyone was saying and what was happening. This is how I broke it down. Google Translate (GT) sucks, but this scene wasn’t that bad (Minus my anger for Ace’s non-existent ability to read the room and salty attitude).
Crowley: Stop, Roseheart! If you use any more magic, the magic stone will be completely dyed in the “blot”!
Riddle: I am…I am the one who is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!
Trey: RIDDLE!!!
*Magic Stone is dyed black*
What’s that dark aura around his body?
His appearance changed?!
Riddle: *Evil Laugh* *Voice is now distorted* Fools who rebel against me. They have no place in my world. I am the law of my world. I am the rule of the world! I will no allow any answer except “Yes, Queen Riddle!!” All those who go against me will be beheaded! *Evil Laugh*
Crowley: What have I done?! How could I make one of my students overbold while I’m here?!
Grimm: What’s an overblot?! That guy just turned evil all of a sudden!
Crowley: Overblot is a state in which a magician can enter but must avoid at all cost. He is no trapped in a negative energy and has lost all control of his emotions and magic.
Grimm: I still don’t understand anything!?
Deuce: Same here!
Cater: To put it simply, it’s a state of beserker darkness.
Trey: If this emotion of magic power continues, Riddle’s life could be in danger.
Grimm: His life?!
Crowley: No matter what, a student’s life is he top priority. I will evacuate the other dormitories. We need to return his sanity before Roseheart’s magic runs out. Losing a life is the awful, but the worst is…Anyway, you must ask the other teachers and dormitories for their support.
Ace: Oh no! I’m so sorry! *Spells*
Crowley/Trey/Cater: EH?!
Deuce: Come now, Cauldron!
Grimm: *Tries to attack with fire*
Riddle: What do you think you’re doing?
Cater: W-Whoa! What are you doing?!
Grimm: Is it that big of a deal if he’s left alone?!
Deuce: As expected, it’s hard to wake him up. Also… *Looks at Ace*
Ace: Hey! I’m telling you, “I’m wrong and I’m sorry!”
Trey: *Not buying it* You…Alright, I can override Riddle’s magic for a while. In the meantime, please! I ask for the evacuation of the director and dormitory students.
Crowley: What about you? It’s too dangerous!
Cater: That’s right! What are you saying, Trey? I can’t beat Riddle!
Ace: He’s too strong to win against!
Grimm: Yeah! Not cool at all!
Deuce: This is the only way to bring him back!
Trey: I can’t afford to lose him. I have to tell him…
Riddle: I always have a good heart…but I’ll take everyone and cut off their heads! (?)
Trey: *Worried* This is getting out of hand. Riddle’s body can’t take much more. I have to stop him before it’s too late.
Fight ensues. Once they defeat him, Riddle dreams of his mother and his strict past.
Trey: Riddle…!
Riddle wakes up with a gasp.
Ace: Oh! He’s awake!
Cater: Oh! I was so worried if he didn’t wake up!
Riddle: *Breathes heavily* I…I’m
Crowley: Thank goodness. You’ve come back to your senses.
Trey: Please don’t worry about anything. Just sleep.
Ace is still grumpy and salty. Deuce is sort of with him about the carnage that happened to the maze/garden. Grimm says it’s bad to build up stress. Riddle admits that all he ever wanted was a tart on his birthday.
Ace: “Eh?”
Riddle: Roses can be white and flamingos can be pink. I like honey mixed with tea cubes and milk in lemon tea. I want to talk with everyone after tea.
Trey: Riddle?
Riddle: I’ve always wanted to play with Trey. *Tries to say more, but ends up crying*
Cater: *In disbelief* No way. The strong leader, Riddle Roseheart, is crying?
Ace: Hey! Don’t think I’ll forgive you if you cry!
Deuce: Read the room…
Trey: I’m sorry. I knew how much you were suffering, but I pretended not to notice. But I’ll tell you today, your way of ruling is wrong. You must apologize to everyone.
Riddle: *Still crying* I’m…I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.
Ace: I’ve always wanted to see you apologize to the dormitory for your actions, but…I CANNOT FORGIVE YOU!!!! YOU CAN’T JUST SAY “SORRY” AND GET FORGIVENESS!!!! (I was screaming at Ace while translating this. Ace and Deuce are partially to blame for Riddle going Overblot.)
Cater: Eh?! Can you not read the air?!
Ace continues being a salty boy about Riddle. Riddle asks what he can do.
Ace: It’s not my birthday for a while….
Deuce: What are you on about?
Ace: As revenge, I demand an unbirthday party and you have to bring the tarts. (The translation said “Nothing Party” so I assumed it referenced “Unbirthday Party” because, you know, Alice in Wonderland.)
Ace: And you can’t get help from Trey. Struggle yourself! Otherwise, there’s nothing to forgive. Got it?
Riddle: Got it.
End Chapter~

The Haikyuu!! Ghibli Zine PDF is available to download!
The zine ended up coming out to 370 pages, with 38 gorgeous pieces (individual and collaborative)! A HUGE thank you to @quantize and @negare-boshi for the immense and incredible job they did putting this together, and to @rynezion, for her stunningly beautiful cover.
And also to all participants, thank you so much for your incredible work. The reason we chose this title for the book (from the track of the same name on the Spirited Away OST) was because we thought it just made sense, with all the revelations and destinations visited within its pages. It was so amazing, seeing all these adventures and paths unfolding in words and art.
There are two versions of the PDF – a single page view and double page. Both are included at the link. It is entirely free of charge.
Download the PDF here! Safe travels <3
