it like sort of kind of sucks how important production is to making a song or album good. like it can genuinely change your entire perception of a song and what’s fucked up is you don’t even realize it unless you know shit like Know Shit about production. like when there’s a good melody anyone can say oh that’s a nice melody but production is like the scary ambiguous wizardry zone i’m scared of it

ten is honestly the only pearl jam album i can listen to and it’s the only one the band says they can’t listen to because it’s over produced but the production is what makes it good all their other albums sound so sterile and like nothing more than the sum of their parts. i’ve heard maybe 3 others tho
