if someone had asked her a year ago where she would be now, lying in bed and talking about her future with tahnee bianchi wouldn’t have been her guess at all. she would have said her life was going to still be filled with parties, drugs, and random hook ups, but that seemed to be the opposite of where it actually had gone. she rarely went to parties, she was sober, and she was happy in a committed relationship that was moving forward. so much had happened in just one year, and she wouldn’t change any of it - even the bad - if it meant losing what she had now. tahnee was moving in. they were going to live together and be domestic and there wasn’t anything in the world that she wanted more than that. it seemed that things between them were only looking up. it didn’t matter what anyone else thought of them, it didn’t matter if there were accusations that they were simply pr, all that mattered was this time and intimacy and how it was propelling them forward. she loved tahnee and tahnee loved her.  she didn’t understand how she had gotten so lucky. looking across the pillows at the other girl made her heart skip a beat. there was no one more beautiful than tahnee, but she was so more than just that. she loved everything about her, from her melodic laugh to her tendency to be hot headed to the level of talent she had that put everyone else to shame. she loved the parts of her that others would consider to be faults, but she just saw as small blocks that made up a much larger and more intricate picture. tahnee wasn’t something to figure out, she was someone to treasure every single part of, because that’s what made her her.  she grinned into the quick kiss, wishing it lasted just a little longer. she couldn’t get enough of tahnee’s lips. “the best taste,” she agreed, her voice airy, “and you taste the best,” she said with a sly grin. “me too. i mean, the fight can’t possibly last too long when chocolate chips are in the equation. i think it’ll be the real key to all of this lasting.”

what was once her life was now billowing old hauntings that echoed in the wind on gloomy days, but it wasn’t the environment she lived in any longer. she had this new found shine of daylight around her when she was around isla. like she just knew everything was going to work out. and funnily enough through all the trials and tribulations, all of her mistakes and revenge plots it was this woman before her that removed that heavy care. she just didn’t mind people hating her anymore, anyone who had hurt her now became worth the end result because here within arms reach was her destination. and by god was it the most beautiful peak she could’ve ever imagined. it was the most pure form of love because they were both flawed but neither of them cared about any whispers in the streets or past accusations, no it was all acceptance and admiration for the strength they held. love came so easily to them and tahnee wouldn’t ever stop thanking the universe for bringing her in to her life.  every little affection and soft intimate moment was inducing butterflies in her stomach, a glitter on her skin that made her entire body sparkle. a smile on her lips that never seemed fade no matter how much she thought it’d have to dim at some point.  “me?” she asks cheekily, soft giggle as she moves in closer. her nose bumping against the others,  “mmm i don’t think so, i think that’s you,” it was cheesy and had old tahnee viewed this she’d be revolted. but the cliche couple moments that made her whole world cast a romantic movie glow was now all she wanted.  “damn we really have it all figured out don’t we,” she muses, but it wasn’t far from the truth. it seemed this time they both actually got it right.

she was in love. there was no other way to describe the constant elation she felt whenever tahnee was around, or even when she just thought about her. it was a feeling like no other and she wouldn’t have traded it for the entire world, because to her, tahnee was her world. she knew that eventually the newness of everything would wear off, but that didn’t matter because she was always looking forward to whatever came next for the two of them.  isla beamed when she said she wanted to move in. “really?” she asked, unable to fully contain her excitement as she leaned over and pressed her lips against the other girl’s. all of her nervous energy from before escaped her and she was filled with nothing but joy. she couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. there was a time when she genuinely thought she would become an old lady with a million pets rather than a partner, but this was a huge step against that. she could still have the million pets - 4 down - but now she had someone to share them with, someone that she genuinely loved and wanted to make happy for her entire lifetime.  a slight blush crept on her cheeks as tahnee listed off everything. it wasn’t that she wasn’t used to the attention, as a celebrity she got compliments all the time, but it was totally different when it was someone who actually meant something saying them. “i always knew i had good taste,” she said with a small laugh, “i just need to remember to keep chocolate chips on me in case i ever piss you off.” 

could you ever believe two of the most notorious and controversial stars of their time had found balance within each other? it almost seemed comical that too people with a lot of baggage and weight in their heart could find freedom together. but tahnee swore it was the universe bringing a glowing woman of understanding into her life so that peace could erupt from what was once burnt ashes of chaos. isla was her light at the end of the tunnel and she had never been so excited to step into the daylight. she’s nodding happily, a bubbly grin on her lips as she pushed herself up to lean on her elbow.  “yeah,” she says in confirmation as if the brightly lit look on her face wasn’t enough.  she giggles into the affection, kissing her back with as much joy as she was receiving. the brunette was getting pretty close to believing she wasn’t cut out for love or that it was only an idea allowed to be presented in love stories or songs. but everything she had written about was now in truth, she was happily in love with the girl who had always been right there in front of her.  her eyes are a soft glow of brown as she watches a pink flutter on to her girlfriends cheeks, she couldn’t explain it but that slight blush only made her more beautiful. the way her face seemed to beam as tahnee complimented her reminded her how desperately she wanted to be the one telling her those truths day in and day out.  she wanted to be the one whispering how beautiful isla looked in the morning before her head had even risen from the pillow and she wanted to be the one uttering how much she loved her before they went to sleep.  “the best taste,” she nods leaning in and placing a quick peck to her lips before a glittering laugh is falling from plump lips.  “oh my god,” she manages to squeak out,  “we have a fight jar just full of chocolate chips, i love that.”

her heart was full. she couldn’t imagine ever being happier than she was when she was with tahnee. it was like all of the bad went away and they only brought out the best in each other without making the other feel lesser than for having a negative side at all. they were somehow in perfect harmony with each other.  isla licked her lips and nodded, slowly at first. she was hit with a quick mess of nerves. it was such a simple question, but she realized that it might have been moving too fast. the two of them had only been official for a few weeks now, and she realized that a lot of people would call that way too fast. but something about it just felt right. and even if they had only just become official, there was something between them that had been going on for ages, and she thought that that should count for something with them. “yeah, of course,” she said, hoping tahnee was on the same page as her, “but only if you want to too, of course,” she added quickly to assuage any guilt or nerves the other might feel at the directness of the invite. “really? for the chocolate chips?” she asked with a small laugh, “and here i thought it was my charm,” she added. “but either way i’ll take it.”

there was a fluttering in her chest, but it wasn’t the kind of nervous butterflies that made her want to run. there wasn’t neon lights flashing in her minds eye in warning, no. the flutters were of nerves ignited by excitement for something bigger than she’d ever known. it was pastel skies telling her a new dawn was coming.  and she didn’t care what anyone else had to say about the way they were going about this love because whatever steps were being made were being made at their pace. she nods her head slowly, there was this content and airy look upon pretty features.  “yeah of course i want to,” because it felt right. the idea of sharing this space with someone who made her feel so good didn’t scare her because for the first time she had no second thoughts.  “your charm, your sense of humour, your intelligence, your talent, your beauty i mean sure they’re all factors and i really enjoy them but it’s the chocolate chips that really got me,” she jokes, the smile on her face glittering in the dark.

they both had so much in common, yet they still balanced each other and brought the best of each other. neither girl was perfect, but if you asked either, they would both claim that the other was. they knew about the worst, but still saw them as the best.  “good,” she grinned, “at this point, you might as well just move in,” she had originally meant the statement as a joke considering they had only been official for a few weeks, but as the words came out, she realized that that was what she wanted. she wanted tahnee as a permanent fixture in her apartment. “t,” she said more seriously as she grabbed the other girl’s hand, “you should move in,” she told her, all joking from before gone from her voice.  “obviously chocolate chip,” she said, “that’s only the best kind there is.”

she saw isla for who she was, this bright and beautiful young woman. isla was everything she never knew she needed. she had always thought her perfect match would be someone who was far more pure and moral than her. someone to pull her in to line or change her. the truth was she needed someone to understand her so all her invasive thoughts didn’t feel so consuming. isla never made her feel like a bad person and that’s what made her want to be a better person.  she laughs at first, it’s a small girlish giggle before her eyes started to drift up to meet those warm brown orbs she’d found serenity in. a tiny smile tugging at the corners of her lips.  “you want me to actually move in?” she asks softly, it wasn’t even up for debate she’d move in, in a heartbeat if isla was serious. but it felt too good to be true,  “like you and me here every day?” “see this is why i love you,” she says brightly,  “i’d be heartbroken if you didn’t like choc chip.”

whenever she was around tahnee, she couldn’t keep the smile from her face. the beautiful girl lying across from her on the bed made her happier than she had ever been in her life. she thought that she had known love in the past, but she was quickly learning that none of that had ever been real, and the only one that mattered was with her.  “you’re staying the night again, right?” she asked her hopefully. though she was already there most nights, she knew that she wanted her there for all of them. she lightly traced her fingers up the girls bare arm, “because then, in the morning, you can teach me how to make pancakes.”

things had really fallen in to place, it’s not like tahnee was some magically moral woman now who didn’t do anything wrong all of a sudden. no. it was more that those vengeful feelings had somehow been silenced by the feelings isla ignited inside of her. it was just simple bliss that overwhelmed her now.  “duh,” she hums with a cheeky little grin on her face,  “why would i wanna go anywhere else,” muses tahnee leaning in closer. she was practically living there now. not that she was complaining, it felt like home. being with isla felt like home.  “pancakes huh?” she shuffles in closer, tucking stray hair behind the others ear,  “chocolate chip?”
