𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁
‎The Prophet ﷺ said,
‎People whose hearts are like the hearts of birds, will enter Paradise.
‎[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2840]
An-Nawawi commented, writing:
It is interpreted to mean they are those who rely upon Allāh, or those who have soft hearts.
[Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn 1/45]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
“And here we see the condition of Umar bin al-Khattab رضي الله عنه. On one occasion he recited the chapter of At-Tur until he reached the verse:
“Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will come to pass." (At-Tur:7)
It caused him to weep, and his weeping became so severe that he fell ill, and people began to visit him due to his illness.
He would recite his daily portion of the Qur'ān through the night sometimes and pass by a particular verse and it would affect him, so he would remain in his house for days until the people would visit him because they thought he was ill.
He had two visible black lines under his eyes from the effects of crying."

عظّموا مقاديركم بالتغافل
Magnify your own worth by being able to ignore [and overlook].
Al-'Arāqī (d.806H) said:
وهذا الكلام مما كان والدي رحمه الله يؤدبني به في مبدأ شبابي حين يرى غضبي من كلمات ترِد عليّ
This is a rule my father (Allāh have mercy on him) would cultivate in me in my youth, whenever he saw my anger due to [distasteful] words others directed at me.

"What reassures our heart the most in the face of all that looms ahead is knowing that Allāh's Will is above the will of humans, and all that humans can do is to fulfill Allāh's decree. We are faced with such a fate that is surrounded by wisdom and sufficiency on every side, and covered by kindness - even if we are wholly unaware of the consequent outcomes."

Be thankful to Allāh during times of prosperity, patient during hardship, maintain good thoughts about your ربّ
Accept what you dislike with patience, for this is sometimes a test and trial, and at other times a means of purification and an expiation of sins.

I withdraw from people and places from time to time. I need space from a world that is filled with millions of mouths that talk too much but never have anything to say.

The Messenger of Allāh Ṣallallāhu-'Alaihi Wa Sallam said:
By Allāh, if Allāh guides a single person through you; that is BETTER for you than (a whole lot of) red camels.
● [رواه البخاري ومسلم]
Imām an-Nawawī Raḥimahullāh said regarding the parable of 'red camels' in the narration:
That is because red camels are from the most valuable of properties to the Arabs.

To be free, we must understand that the only One you need to impress and prove yourself to is Allāh The Exalted. If you try to live for the people, you will be left soulless and abandoned.
