Amalgatons

Skeleton-formed Amalgamations, created by Dr. Escrow.

Based on the research of Royal Scientist Dr. Alphys and deceased colleague Dr. Zapfino Dingbat

Subject 1: “Thook”

Composed of former soldiers Thor and Ooky.

Brutish in nature, likely do to their shared past as made skeletons soldiers. Unable to speak, constantly leaking a black ooze from their mouths. Ooky’s head appears to be crying. Very dangerous, especially if provoked. Thor’s head is always growling and his fists are clenched in rage. Do not get too close, they still have good faculties over their magic. Easier to control, likely because of Ooky,

Subject 2: “Kompacer”

Composed of former soldiers Kompakt and Lacerate.

Incredibly violent, moreso than any of the other creations. Seems to be in a perpetual state of rage. Lacerate’s mouth is fused into Kompakt’s skull and Kombakt’s mouth is full of the same ooze as Thook.. Lacer’s arms are alight with magic at all hours, where as Kompakt’s seem to twitch in desperation to land a hit. They must be sedated and restrained for my own safety. Will make a great impact upon my return to the Capital.

Subject 3: “Caskerville”

Composed of my former colleagues, Baskerville and CAS. Surprisingly violent despite the fact that the pair were never violent. CAS’ head seems despondent, perhaps it remembers its former life. Baskerville’s head seems contemplative, as if he’s trying to plan something. Because of this I keep them in isolation. Their faces are merged in such a fashion that even if they had the mental faculties to speak, they would not physically be able to. This was intentional. I wanted to see if their intelligence would be combined, but I did not wish for it to speak. It seems I was wrong. They cant do anything.

Subject 4: “Capelisecori”

Composed of citizens Capoli, Elise, and Aon Cari.

A great success, I was able to fuse three bodies into one being. At what cost? I fear that the subjects were not ideal for the experiment but at this point, I am nearly out of capable fighters. Perhaps it can learn. It is nearly always crying and wailing, clawing at walls and at itself. It has three mouths and only seem capable of a single word. “Baby” is all I hear from them in a gloomy dirge. It’s annoying. Maybe I’ll fix their jaws shut.

Subject 5: “Henniweather”

Composed of citizen Hennypenny and my faithful assistant, Merriweather. Merriweather outlived her usefulness, since I now have my creations to aid me. I have had Henny Penny in my care for some time, so it seemed like a good use of resources to merge them. Ever faithful, Henniweather follows me everywhere I go, just as Merriweather did. It’s a little tedious, and I am tired of Henny Penny’s crying. I learned from my last creation to modify the mouths to hinder their ability to make sounds, but nothing I tried seemed to work on that stubborn skull of hers. Not a very useful creation, but it still may be useful in protecting me.

Subject 6: “Desdarella”

Composed of citizens Barbarella and Desdemona. I never liked Desdemona. She worked for a monster family and she brought that thing down with her. I knew it was only a matter of time before I could capture her alone. I have been keeping Barbarella in suspension, waiting for another subject to work with, and my patience was rewarded. Desdarella is fiery, difficult to control, and powerful. I keep it away from the others as I fear their spirit may inspire rebellion. I could simply terminate the subject but honestly where is the fun in that? I greatly enjoy seeing that bitch suffer.

Subject 7: “Chiple” Composed of local idiot Chipper and his pathetic mother, Chicle. They were brought in by my magnum opus. It was good to know that it could follow orders and remain unseen, as no one has come looking for either of them yet. It’s a shame M.O couldn’t get her other two children, I would have liked to go for a group of four. I decided to reverse my order of operations and injected them both with the determination before i made the alterations to their bodies. The result was… Depressing. Chicle simply held her son as they merged into one being. Truly, my worst creation yet. All they do is stand there, cry, and moan. At least M.O got some practice out of it.

Magnum Opus’ file is still to come, I still have a lot of tests to run before I am ready to use its full potential. All I know for certain at this moment is that Zapfino really was worth something after all. Parts.

A human fell today.

I hadn’t seen one since I was on the surface. I almost didn’t know what I was looking at.

As far as I could tell, the human was a girl. I came upon her in the very last moments of her life. She looked so young, too young to be dying. I didn’t catch her name, since she died in my arms. She was crying. She could not speak. It was... It was incredibly sad.

I have contained her soul. I was tempted to absorb it, but it felt so wrong. Back when we first came to forge our city, there was talk of a plan to gather our own souls to break the barrier... But that is a long forgotten dream now, since it’s clear that we’re all destined to die down here.

I couldn’t bring myself to let her go. She looked so scared as she stared up at me. She was probably scared of me, which is understandable. I tried t tell her that it would all be okay...

Her soul is small, violet in color. I was able to salvage one of the old soul incubators from Z’s lab... Maybe I should find more, in case if this happens again.

I gave her body to Sedgwick, who has grown so lonely since his sister and Nephew... Well. It will of course take some time to ready the body to join us. I hope that Nova can heal her properly. She was in rough shape.

A fresh face in the city. Maybe that will brighten spirits. In any case, I will hold onto this soul until It feels right to release her. I have an odd feeling that she needs to stay, to process.

Today was particularly difficult. Since MV’s brother was lost, she hasn’t come by nearly as often. I worry about her, and I miss her company. She and her brother brought some joy to my life. Today, I longed for company more than usual. However, my lonely stupor was short lived.

Another human fell today. It’s been some time since the last one. The last one is nearly ready to join us, Nova has worked very hard to repair her and Sedgwick has made a great soul-giver so far. He pretends that it does not matter, that he’s doing it because he hasn’t done it, But I’m sure he’s excited to have a kid around again.

Today’s human was also a child. It pained me so to look upon him. His body looked so broken, as if he’s had a very difficult fall. The fact that he still clung to life was nothing short of a miracle. He will take a lot of time to repair, the poor thing.

I was once again able to contain the soul. His was larger, orange in color. Difficult to contain, since it was very... Lively. It seems that it really didn’t want to leave it’s broken body, but it had no choice it seems.

The violet soul glows brighter now that it has company. I am sad of course that a life was lost, even if it was the life of a human. At least the violet soul isn;t so lonely now. This makes me, in turn, feel less lonely.

I am at a loss for words.

A child so dreadfully young fell last night. I heard a cry in the night and when I went to check, I found a grizzly sight.

This child was younger than the other two, and he was very much alive, more than the others. He was crying, begging for mercy. I felt just awful. I brought him inside, tried to get his name. I figured if he made it through the night, I’d find some way to get him properly healed. In years since being trapped down here my hatred for humans has subsided. I could have given him a home here.

He... He was missing an arm.

I’m unsure if that happened before or after his fall. I tried to ask, but he was so weak. He was more injured than I initially thought, and he died, like the others. His soul was so small, pale blue in color. It is with the others now.

Nova will be here for the body soon. She had great success with Mania and Vine, both are healthy and living in the city. I hope she can do the same for this one. Even if his human life is over, maybe he can have a new monster life.

I wish they’d visit. Mania and Vine... Of course, they wouldn’t remember me. They wouldn’t want to remember me.

I feel like I need to tell someone about the souls. Nova doesn’t know. I feel that there is no one in the city who dares come near me now, except for MV. She is still young but.. I think I can trust her. Her father was the head of the research on souls after all.

That poor child.

A miracle occured today. For the first time since Dokdo’s body fell, a living human fell into my abode. Like Dokdo’s body, he was surprisingly alive but strangely silent. I managed to heal him. He is resting now.

MV was here for the whole thing. She seems pretty taken with this child. He’s very small, maybe six years old. He hasn’t woken up yet, but I have confidence that he will wake, and soon. MV said that she’ll take him. It’s probably for the best. It is not safe here where I live. But, someone must watch for falling humans. Someone needs to be there to catch the human souls.

MV is very much like her father. Curious about the souls. She asks me a lot of questions, but unfortunately I can’t answer. I[m just a lowly soldier, after all. Maybe someday she’ll be able to get us out of here with those souls. MV is a special kid. I bet her parents would be very proud of how she’s grown, if they were still here.

I must go, it seems the child is waking up.
