(they/she) call me Ebb :) I like pretty stuff and painful stories! All of my favorite characters are traumatized. Anyway im just here to vibe (currently stuck on tma and the mechs)
Loving how Butler spends the entirety of TLC not getting distracted from his job or protecting Artemis (not panicking when his charge and hand disappear courtesy of a rematerializing demon, stepping in front of Billy's rifle in the theater even when he has Holly's new helmet to play with, not taking his eyes off Minerva's chateau while Holly is infiltrating it, etc. etc.) and then the five seconds he does allow himself to be pulled from his responsibilities, everything goes completely pear-shaped for him. Those years in Duncade would've been brutal for him - if only he'd stayed focused, if only he hadn't let himself get distracted, if only if only if only.
Mildly unhinged 1 am thought: dealing with the fowls for fairies must be like dealing with villagers for minecraft players
Incredibly frustrating and disagreeable but also vitally necessary little creatures with important but annoying skills.
And you hate this awful little thing, it鈥檚 so infuriating and it just REFUSES to cooperate, it knows that you need it and it uses that to charge astronomically high prices.
But you have to be nice to it, cause if you aren鈥檛, not only will it hike up it鈥檚 already ridiculous prices, but the Indestructible, freakishly strong and fast GIANT that follows it around and seems to spawn out of nowhere will SMITE YOU air you so much as flick the annoying little shite.
Angeline and Butler's dynamic is soooo funny to me. What do you mean Butler flew a 12 year old Artemis to Vietnam so he could give a guy they met online thirty thousand euros (in order to find a fairy), rather than acting as the adult in the situation (i.e. spending that money trying to find a better psychologist/psychiatrist for Angeline, who was in the middle of a psychotic break). What do you mean that from Angeline's perspective, Butler was the last person to see Artemis when the Hybras incident occurred and Artemis was lost for three years. What do you mean Butler spent those three years trying to convince Angeline that "fairies were responsible for the loss of her son" while said fairies went radio-silent, making Butler look like he'd lost his damn mind. What do you mean Butler had a breakdown after TLG and Angeline had to go beg him to go to Artemis' funeral. What do you mean Butler then refused to show up to her son's funeral because he couldn't process that he was actually dead. Like... hello??
