The Deal With the Devil
No, this post is not about the circus. I just have been thinking about how everything is so shady in this music business and that’s why Lauren’s “Read your contracts” means so much more than we can tell from outside the industry. I’m only researching for a little more than two years, but ever since I wonder about 5H contracts and why it’s taking so long to the four of them to release their solo projects.
Tumblr media
First I had to go back and learn the official timeline we can easily find online. After the 3rd place in 2012 X-Factor, the group signed with Epic/Syco/Symco in January 2013 and released an EP on October of the same year. The group’s debut album (LP) came only in 2015, followed by the the second in 2016, still with the five of them. After Camila left, the third one came late in 2017. Exactly 7 months prior to the hiatus.
Tumblr media
Why am I bringing this up? Because I don’t know if their image contracts were signed during X-Factor or after they signed the recording contract with Epic/Syco. If someone knows please tell me. I also never understood the hiatus and not ending it, like they own them something contract wise. Marketing wise they could still use one another, the band and tease/promote a reunion despite the end, so why a hiatus?
Tumblr media
I read a lot of blogs saying from the start C&L had different deals, which makes a lot of sense in terms of image at least, since they’re the only ones doing PRs. Some say Camila somehow took the albums 5H still owed to the label when she left, but nothing of it is really confirmed. We can only know the narratives they want us to know. However, it seems more and more that LDNA’s albums are being held on purpose (Asks from @saythemthetruth on Curious Cat).
Tumblr media
I definitely agree with the insider on the four of them knowing previously that would take longer for them to release something, despite being signed to major labels. I searched before about Lauren’s label here and here, but it was Ally’s label situation that actually caught my attention. She was out of Sony, which could explains the no interactions thing, but still her album situation looked the same as NLD until now.
Tumblr media
So she was signed to Atlantic for two years and their contract was terminated without Ally ever releasing her debut album? What I take from this: they can tour (remember L’s Would-Have-Been-Tour T-Shirt) have singles and collaborations, but specifically releasing the album must be the hold off. We all know how much COVID-19 changed things, but the stalling of their projects seems to have started way before.
Tumblr media
We have Normani, with billions of streams and the support from heavy weights yet to bless us with her debut after many postponements. This without even mentioning DJ, who definitely got the shortest side of whatever deal was made. Except for Dinah, all of them have contracts with big management teams and labels. Since Hitco is independent, LA’s pretty damaged image adds to DJ’s Calvary unfortunately.
Tumblr media
Only time will tell us what was planned. Remember they all said they’re coming soon. Even though is hard to understand the constant neglecting of them, makes a lot of sense they signed up for it anyways, just like C with the shitty circus she’s dealing right now. For me, if they had an option they wouldn’t have choose this, but when this is all you have then you’re bound to do as they say and follow their rules.
Tumblr media
And guess what? Ally’s new label is connected to Sony somehow. Also, with this thing about Normani not being scheduled for the VMAs the holding back keeps showing. @underthatimpression made two great posts about contracts here and here. The part on how C doesn’t have legal ground to start a battle to get out of her contracts are a must read. Seems we’re heading to CC3 era before LNDA’s debuts and by the looks of it as intended and signed before.
Tumblr media
World wide fame and fortune comes with big prices and lots of strings attached no matter how much the demons wanna sell it like a fairytale. It’s not a deal with the devil if you don’t lose a little bit of soul.

Don’t Go Yet. Keep Cool!
Tumblr media
That’s definitely a good caption for what I’m going to talk about. So, today this insider on Twitter said L is close to signing with Keep Cool (Normani’s label), also a Sony Parent Company, smaller than Columbia and more focused on R&B artists. The label is described as ‘the creative safe haven for artists and creatives alike’, but they have N for about 3 years and she’s their only signing without a release.
Tumblr media
I talked about this subject before here and I said that she could leave Columbia, but she would still be under a Sony label, so if the insider is correct it’s not big news. Especially if we think that even a smaller label like Keep Cool has their biggest star without an album release for such long time. Why would they prioritize Lauren?
Tumblr media
Everything looks the same on their official channels. She’s still a Columbia artist according with their catalogue. Same situation as RecordsCo, the other label she’s also signed despite never being on their list of artists, as mentioned before. The thing that did change is that Lauren unfollowed not only Columbia, but also Ron Perry, their CEO. Her manager Elena, on the other hand, keeps tabs on them both. It doesn’t say much for me anyway.
Tumblr media
The only thing we know for sure is that we don’t know anything about what’s might be going on behind the scenes. She may flirt with being an independent artist, but in the end Lauren must be still tied to a bunch of contracts.
Tumblr media
They simply won’t let her go just yet!
Maybe we’ll get it someday…
Femme it Forward the new Neon16
I looked Femme It Forward on Google out of curiosity and caught my attention that they have plans to be a indie record label or something and instantly got me Neon16 vibes. Still I don’t see none of them linked to Lauren more than side projects or producing.
Tumblr media
A good thing is FiF looks really connected with a lot of music venues and they’re promoting the album, so we might get to see her perform at some point.

This!!!
What happened to Britney and her statement in court proved a very obvious truth
Real fans know very well to their favorite artists and they (we) cannot be easily fooled. Britney's fans knew since the beginning she wasn't well or happy at all and now she just said it. She confirmed it. Everything her fans already knew.
So, for the bastards I know read our blogs, be careful... We are watching, always 🖕🏾
(I'm talking about our girls too)

℗ 2021 Lauren Jauregui x Columbia x Records x Neon16 Parallel
Tumblr media
Since Temporary was out days ago I’ve been seeing speculations about Lauren leaving Columbia and I did some digging trying to understand a little about her mysterious current label situation. Despite the ‘℗ 2021 Lauren Jauregui’ being credited in this single she still one of Columbia’s artists according to their catalogue as many have checked. Then what the fuss is all about, right?
Tumblr media
We all know that Columbia is not promoting Lauren. We suspect something shady is happening behind the scenes, because the album is about to come for a few years now. Not only Lauren’s, but all of ot4’s projects. The times she contradicted herself about the album being done, then being redone and almost done to still writing tracks and the ep+album last news made everyone’s suspicious even bigger.
Tumblr media
The fact her new website has no reference at all to Columbia as her label could mean something on the other hand. It only shows Sony’s copyright. Even if you want to be a registered fan of hers the site sends you to Sony’s fan formulary page. So far so good? Ok. Let’s go ahead in my findings.
Tumblr media
When I checked her label situation I found this article from Billboard about Barry Weiss’s label RECORDS and how he had just signed with Lauren and would be alongside Columbia one of her labels.
Tumblr media
In fact after Expectations and More Than That her next singles showed RECORDS credited as well. Their artist’s catalogue does not include Lauren, but they sure mention her and Columbia.
Tumblr media
When Lauren signed this deal with RECORDS she was still under Larry Rudolph’s management. I didn’t find anything about her contract with Columbia or RECORDS, if it’s about a number of albums or years and if it could be near to the end, but what we do know is that she changed management a few times, from Maverick (Larry/Tara) to Brenda/Elena (Tiger’s Eye/Moonshot Management) and is unclear how that could’ve affected her label situation if so.
Tumblr media
The Neon16 Parallel
Could Lauren be moving to Neon16 after Columbia? I don’t think so. I know since 2019 she’s working with Tainy and other Neon16 artists. They’ve released Lento together through Columbia and Nada through Neon16 and he also produced Lento Remix with Rauw, but that’s all, just collaborations. I don’t know if this would be a smart move even in a few years, after her EP and debut album, to be honest.
Tumblr media
So far Neon16 has only male signed artists: Tainy, Alvaro Diaz, Dylan Fuentes e that Kris dude. Cris Chil being their songwriter is how far their connection with Lauren goes. No contracts just yet. Tainy’s recent collaborations with Selena Gomez and Dua Lipa seem more a way to promote the label than actually signing big stars, since their main goal now is to find new talents and work with them while producing more established artists, in my opinion.
End of Parallel
With that being said I wouldn’t worry about Lauren leaving Columbia. She’s a Sony artist above all and I’m sure they can move her under their umbrella labels all they want as long as she’s tied to a contract (or several). The real problem for me here is how an talented artist with basically two labels still doesn’t get promoted. The group is in hiatus since 2018 and Lauren only has four solo singles and we all know how she had to fight for them to be released.
Tumblr media
Feel free to comment and correct me if anything here is wrong or to add some more info about this shady conundrum if you know and verified first.
Ps: Incredible how big bosses are all connected and control together the biggest assets in music industry according to their own agenda, just like they’re products and independently of their art and talent.

Funny coincidence that Carlos Vives is also a guest in this A Tiny Audience’s Season 2 just like Lauren. It’s a small world after all.
Also, it was produced in Miami during quarantine. Once again proving we can only know things when they want us to know.

The Lion’s Cage
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Framing Britney became the documentary to watch this year and I was really expecting Lauren to say something about it. I’ll never forget that Attunment episode 8, the Dark Diaries one with the Amy Winehouse parallel. But the thing is, although I knew Larry Rudolph is Britney’s manager and that he had worked with 5H, I just didn’t make the connection because I know nothing about his ties with the girls besides his link to Maverick.
So I ’d really like @stuckinapatriarchalbullshitland and @emisonme opinions and knowledge about it if you can, obviously. Some serious allegations are being made, but I found only 3 posts related and maybe there’s more to know. I thank you both in advance.
Also, if someone like to check Stuck has this amazing post on Attunement 8.

What’s going on? So many leaks happening can’t be random. At least 6 songs. 7 if you add Thinking ‘Bout One from a few weeks ago.

THIS
Well, Anyone being “leaked” just blows their WHOLE public narrative out of the water, doesn’t it?!!!
The Boy, is priceless. this is a great depiction of what she really feels about her “straight” image. She don’t give a rats ass about “the boy”, or any boy for that matter. They are like Industry props on a shelf. They get dusted off when they are needed for her damn public image. When done, they go back to collecting dust, while she “switches sides” and goes back to her ANYONE, that she’s been in love with ALL THESE YEARS!!!!!! !! !!!!

I agree with everything except that it’s random. They have 21 billion reasons to keep things this way. Gets worse if you think that the Big Three (Warner, Sony and UMG) control 80% of that industry and its artists.
Tumblr media
Is she really aware of what we are talking, isn't she?
