Agonising your taste buds with a taste you’d never had before; bitter, and heavy; weighting on your tongue and slinking down your throat like something foul had leaked into your body. You couldn’t decipher it, it skulked its way down your oesophagus and into your stomach, fleecing its way into your bloodstream to hum under your skin.

But it riveted its way back out, clammy skin that looked like tissue paper pulled over a wireframe; soaked in a dewiness of rot, a slick of pain, the beads of salt weeping from the pore. You were disgusting, but he thought you were the most beautiful person on this earth.

He looked death in the eyes, and it stared back at him in a pained adoration with all it had left to give; it wheezed words out to him, lulled him into the idea that your sleep would be plentiful and healing, it told him everything would be okay; there’s honesty death for everyone, but at that moment, nobody told him that death was also a liar.

“Did you think it would turn out like this?” The words bled through the cracks of your mouth, subjected to the last bit of air your lungs could hold, that faithful rattle in your ribcage like something was clawing its way out, “When you met me all those years ago, did you think we’d be sitting here like this now?”

“No,” He sobered, his body wouldn’t forget the dampness of this ground anytime soon; clammy and frozen beneath him like the reaper’s fingers clinging to his thighs, “But I guess there’s a lot of things I didn’t expect would happen.”

“I’m sorry Shua…”

“I know.”

you're not pushy dont worry, curiosity is natural! im working on BTD on and off with something else at the moment, im trying to write chapters in bulk instead of one at a time! when those will be out? im not sure yet, im hoping to at least have something out by May though!
