reading dune is so fucking funny bc (spoilers) they reveal paul has limited visions of the future and i truly cannot wait to see how badly they portray that in the movie
i mean best case scenario we get timmy chalamet voice over about the different fuckin time branches meanwhile the shot is just him like. walking
this shit is 800 pages long plus several appendices and a glossary of terms. delivering this shit in less than 3 hours is a fucking herculean task i cant wait to see it fail

hello hoes and homies i have cracked the one piece arc formula
i may be wrong but thats for me to decide 300 chapters from now (im on volume 39 now uwu)
1. travel: establish straw hats' goal or one established main character's personal involvement on the island (sometimes both). oftentimes, one or more shorter arcs take place on islands that set up a larger arc. shorter arcs include: at least one battle, separate worldbuilding for that island, and no civilizations (almost always solitary individuals)
2. peaceful exploration: establish setting and important figures/structures there. Money earned in the last arc is spent now, and tone is just fuckin wacky goofs and whatever
4. disruption: straw hats are victimized, often by local law. at this point, the straw hats have few allies if any, and are hated by/avoiding the vast majority of the islanders
5. minor climax: demonstrates the power of the enemy. straw hats and/or friendly islanders get Fucked Up but dont die. tone is for sure in serious shit territory.
6. escalation: the stakes rise as the enemy's specific plam becomes more clear. Lots of shit gets done but order varies from arc to arc. Typically includes the following events:
A. peaceful islanders may flip over to the straw hats' side, but they're still underdogs because the enemy is OP
B. straw hats (other than luffy) may take part in small battles with members of the enemy's crew
C. extended flashback sequences (several chapers long) for islanders met in phase 2. These islanders will usually either die or never be seen again
7. major climax: battle with the main enemy. sometimes begins as a fight with other characters, but always ends when the enemy is defeated by luffy after he discovers their weakness. Ideal for spouting some BS about dreams/friendship/trust, and short, single-phrase flashbacks of things from earlier within the arc
8. resolution: straw hats collect their goal, with the gratitude of the islanders. They may gain new abilities, tools, or shipmates that appear in later adventures, and they set sail once more. tone goes back to silly bullshit
