honestly, lottie would take what she could get. something resembling a laugh was close enough to a full one, which had a smile linger on her lips. "you won't fall," she reassured with a small chuckle. the wilderness wouldn't want him to, that much she was certain of. lottie didn't know MUCH, especially about these woods and whatever inhabited it -- she did, however, know strongly that it didn't want blood today. or pain. "are you having any luck with that?" a nod in the direction of the hole, eyes flickering from charlie to the water. the moose must still be down there, she figured. another reminder of just how little they have and how much they've lost. "it's nice of you to do this. even if you don't catch anything, i think it might still give everyone a bit of hope."

the little joke made him in take a breath that resembled a laugh. not that it wasn't funny, but charlie had never been much for showy displays. or what he considered showy at least. "at this rate, might have to-" he commented in reply, half serious. stifled. he could see that. even he got stir crazy, but she must have been far and above in that department- everyone was always looking for something from lottie it felt like. it was a enormous burden to bear. "stifled? well then, just keep yourself warm out here. i wasn't kidding about the sick thing," he glanced over his shoulder again. "true. me falling into the ice with someone else would definitely make people happy," and then cue the playful wink on a dead expression.

I. hi! my name is august (they/them, 21+). i am a nonbinary jewish person living in est with a job that sucks up my entire life, so my activity is low/sporadic. i have a few other blogs in different fandoms so i'm always hopping around. i have a discord if mutuals want to write, plot, be friends, etc.

II. i'm always down to plot but personally for me, the best way to start out writing with new folks is memes / quick starts to kind of get the feel for chemistry and flow. i'm all for jumping into plots but i am also nervous and anxious about bothering people too much, so i like memes and quick little fun stuff to break the ice first.

III. i've been writing on and off between tumblr and other sites since roughly 2012. this is a hobby. i don't tolerate hate, drama, etc. racism, antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia will not be tolerated here. i won't interact with harry potter muses -- do your thing, if you really wanna write them go ahead but unfortunately the whole thing has just been ruined for me. if you use fc's of abusers and known shitty people, i won't interact. i don't do call out culture, i don't get involved in shit unless something is actually harmful. don't spread your hate near me. i will hiss. and i will block.

"what are you using as bait? sticks?" a tease -- she still had a sense of humor intact. but at his comment, what was starting as a smile dipped into a frown. "maybe i'm outside because i'm a little... stifled by what everyone else wants." a reluctant admission. the quiet outside made her feel comfortable enough to speak truths. the wilderness kept her thoughts and her secrets safe from the rest of them.
