     WHAT A PECULIAR situation that he had fallen into, subjected to navigating the shadowed corners of a particularly ruined spirale. hubert was adaptive to the sort of environment, easily managing to calm himself down enough to try and think rationally about the situation at hand. he hides himself within the nearest building that was surprisingly not completely destroyed, shielding himself from the chaotic, unpredictable weather in the process. here, he attempted to develop any sort of plan in order to get passed the demonic creatures blocking his path.    

     however, he indeed spot a hint of a shadow, one which outlined the position of another within the world seen through his eyes. “you...” he spoke, being careful as possible not to alert the monsters that lurk within the darkness. while hubert was hesitant to ask anyone, especially a complete stranger for assistance, it just may be the most logical choice at the moment to call out to someone, if he ever eventually ended up in a tight position. whether or not this manifested world was real or not, either by magic or by other means... hubert could not afford to die here or ever. “do you perhaps see anything on your end? as reluctant as i am to ask a complete stranger for assistance, i may not have much of a choice on the matter.”

BASICS !

Is your muse tall / short / average?

he’s fairly tall, standing at at 6′2″!

Are they okay with their height?

hubert thinks it’s normal for his age, so it’s not a big deal. for the most part, he hovers over most people and that’s most entertaining. some do point out how tall he is (probably) but he does not care too much for that, but he does think it’s the good height to intimidate others.

What’s their hair like?

his hair is almost the same length as before five years ago, until he decided to brush it and make it more... clean. it’s much wavier as well. most of his hair falls down towards the right side, covering his right eye and the back is much shorter in comparison.

Do they spend a lot of time on their hair / grooming?

before anyone asks, hubert does indeed brush his hair with a comb so his hair is particularly smooth even though it may not look like it at all. i would like to say that he uses a specific hair products (mainly soft gel) for his hair to treat it but only the minimal amount which explains how wavy his hair got. it is also to keep the strands from the back of his hair... somewhat neat and in tact.

Does your muse care about their appearance / what others think?

it may surprise a few people but hubert does care somewhat about his appearance mainly due to the fact that he’s lady edelgard’s retainer and he wants to look as presentable as possible. and well, you sort of have to take your appearance onto account especially when you’re the minister of the imperial household with important duties. 

then again, he still holds the responsibility of disposing unsavory burdens for the emperor so i will say that keeping up a great appearances is not to be solely his goal. but when it comes to what others think of him in general, yes and no. hubert von vestra is generally feared and that’s how they should feel, he thinks but at the same time, he’s not easily bothered or shaken by mere rumors either.

PREFERENCES !

Indoors or outdoors?  outdoors Rain or sunshine?  rain Forest or beach?  forests Precious metals or gems?  metals Flowers or perfumes?  flowers, mostly. Personality or appearance?  personality! Being alone or being in a crowd?  being alone. Order or anarchy?  anarchy. Painful truths or white lies?  painful truths. Science or magic?  magic, obviously. Peace or conflict?  this is hard because hubert’s life has always been involved around conflict but guess it’s better to live in peace than to live within a war. however, he feels that the world will never just remain peaceful forever. Night or day?  night. Dusk or dawn?  dusk. Warmth or cold?  cold. Many acquaintances or a few close friends?  a few close friends because at the same time, hubert does not easily make any friends due to his... trust issues and his inability to initiate long lasting conversation. hubert hates rambling on and on. Reading or playing a game?  oh man, he does both. he reads for a good amount of time throughout some days of the week but he enjoys games too (not any game that a normal person would expect, however). no preference, really!

What are some fond memories your muse has?

to be honest, hubert does not have many fond memories to begin with. however, i would say that hubert was mostly? fond of the memories of being in the garreg mach monastery with the black eagles as well as the rest of the students. that was around one of the first times that he got to spend leisure time even if it was fleeting, getting to talk about normal topics with his classmates and etc. apart from his sometimes peaceful days at the monastery, i would say spending his time with edelgard at the palace, guarding her while he was a child and seeing her grow. 

Is it easy for your muse to kill?

yes and also no? it’s fairly easy for hubert to kill but at the same time, he’s also a reasonable man so one would have to one, be a threat to edelgard or cause corruption within the empire’s anarchy.  i mean, hubert murdered his own father because he played a hand in said corruption.

What’s it like when your muse breaks down?

hubert’s breakdowns are... dramatic to say the least. there are no intense verbal outbursts, rarely when he “breaks down” but more so he’ll go on some silent rampage against the culprit who caused him emotional turmoil. this may or may not involve him cutting a bloody path in his wake but no one ever really sees hubert break down out in the open. 

if it does not involve anyone but his state of mind, he’d say awake for long hours at a time, more prone to subtly... threatening anyone who gives him a hard time in this state. he’ll overwork himself to the bone, almost sacrificing his own health and that’s how he usually deals with stress and more.

Is your muse capable of trusting someone with their life?

hubert thinks that he does kind of have to sometimes when they are at war but also when he’s planning house vestra’s war at the same time. he’s a secretive man, he does not trust people easily but hubert would actively seek out those that he can trust, slowly but surely. already he does put trust in a few of his former classmates so there’s also that (mostly due to their usefulness or genuine likeness).

What’s your muse like when they’re in love?

hubert is not the biggest flirt by any means but that does not mean that he’s incapable of teasing which would sometimes come off as flirting to some (every so often he means it). he has never been intensely in love nor would he ever admit to being in love, at least not now but hubert does blush every so often. once he’s in love, he would do anything for his loved one, as in kill for them and protect them from harm by any means necessary. he can also be rather touch starved (but he’s always the one initiating it when he’s in love).

is this a rp ad for the event? yes! i recommend reading this first before liking but other than that, please do like this post to interact with hubert for this event. i’ll cap this off at 3 but castmates can like over if they so wish. i will message you accordingly to plot out what they will be doing. just so everyone knows, this may just be short starters, generally but we can expand throughout time. hubert will mainly want to wreck havoc and destroy some monsters but he will defend anyone he teams up with as long as you keep up.

     “indeed it must have been. for you and i both,” 

hubert spoke, past tense as he also thought of his own family. his mother had mostly been absent and being forced to be in the presence of the despicable man he called a father. every time he had to look at the man, the angrier he felt in his presence. would she have felt the same? however he has abandoned such occasions a long time ago so perhaps it was all a fleeting memory now. such family occasions in the vestra household were entirely different, as hubert had barely known peace before he lived a life at the monastery but even then, that was also short lived. 

     however, it was certain that he knew of her situation in regards to her own parents, one of which he would never bring up out of… politeness. 

     “perhaps we were both cursed with blundering encounters with our families. but i guarantee, those days may be over soon.”  .

WHAT HUBERT SEES: when it comes down to environment, it is perhaps fairly dark in his eyes with the largest trees to hover over the open sky, with the moon settling above as his main source of light. overall, it seems to look as if he’s barely beneath the ground. the surrounding buildings and apartments have been severely damaged and others burnt, rubble and debris scattered throughout the streets. several corpses could also be seen, hidden in some areas.

EFFECTS ON HIM SPECIFICALLY: hubert may possibly hear unsettling shrieks through his ears that may cause him to believe that demonic beasts may inhabit his city. on top of that, he could might as well hear the shrieks of mere humans as well but they come and go. as the hours pass, thunder may come to strike by once and awhile or if he is not careful, some areas may be prone to catch aflame. 

POSSIBLE SCENARIOS: 

hubert knows that he cannot defeat these monsters on his own, and he has come to realize that he does indeed need assistance from the capable. hubert is currently classed as a DARK BISHOP user and he specializes in dark magic to boost his offenses. he is willing to team up with other people so destroy the monsters scattered around his city.

the monsters in his city may represent simple beasts or even demonic ones (in appearance) of various forms. it could be in the form of a fairly large beastly dog, wolf or giant birds. i concluded that they do need to be attacked multiple times in order to defeat as they do appear to have very tough skin. 

as his city is shrouded in darkness as i have mentioned, it may be just slightly difficult for him to spot you but it’s not so much as a big problem as hubert does have a particular skill to identify shadows as long as you’re in his vicinity. overall, hubert is pretty calm and collected for the most part.

if there are some who are not aware, hubert’s physical strength is not the best in comparison to perhaps his classmates. in the game, his strength may be the lowest out of the black eagles so i imagine that any excessive running may be difficult. while he is down to destroy his enemies and the beasts in his city than run, he’ll find it better to plan things out accordingly before executing. thus, they could always get refuge in one of the buildings and strategize.

with the lack of his magical abilities, hubert is not as strong as he should be and that definitely does frustrate him so yeah, he would need all the help he can get. also, it’s so much better for him if your muse can also protect themselves as well since unfortunately hubert will not prioritize someone else’s life. however he will try his best to defend his partner to the best of his ability.

you can try killing hubert or he can try killing you if you want but this will downright make you an enemy of hubert’s and you don’t want that.
