it takes her about twenty minutes, considering that she has to first get out of the sewers and then drive the short distance between the entrance and her uncles’ penthouse. but she arrives, gucci shades hiding her eyes and a sweater far too large for her hanging off her shoulders.

He had wanted somewhere quiet to play today, though he stopped. He could hear a familiar tune, hesitating for a moment before readying his hands waiting for a chance to strum and along, singing as he did so. "Play a song for me, Applejack, Applejack~ Play a song for me and I'll sing~ Play a song for me Applejack, Applejack, play a song let your banjo ring~" He probably should have made himself known or at least get to a point where the other could see him.. But he was caught in the moment.

Not malicious! Never malicious. But Jackson was a teenager, in that phase where he was easily embarrassed, and easily found reasons to be embarrassed for others. Maria and Ray teased, playfully, and so did Felicia, little comments about his upbringing, about characters they’d seen on TV. Kitten was the only one that just sat and listened – but she was little. It was only a matter of time before the others’ words sunk in.

So when he felt the wont to play, he often did it outside the old warehouse they’d made a home out of, in an alley or somewhere else secluded. Somewhere he could just pick the strings and hum to himself – he didn’t have much a voice for singing.

When another banjo joined in, when a voice soon followed it, he almost thought he was hallucinating. But it continued, and his mouth pulled back into a smile as he played along, still absorbed in his music, but now with company.

“Not a lotta people up here with taste, y’know,” he rumbled, not even looking up from his instrument. He didn’t fear a lot any more – not many people were truly dangerous to him – so if this person was a threat, he’d deal with it as it happened. “‘Specially not taste f’r the banjo. That’s real rare.”

☽–;; for the record the reason adding muses to the muses page is taking so long is mostly that this one’s a lot more labor-intensive than that last one was

there’s a LOT more things that go on it but it helps me condense the amount of pages this blog needs to function. with all the character tags ON their actual listing i don’t have to make two whole separate pages of tags.
