any samtana or blainetana friendship headcanons?

I can actually see Blaine and Santana being pretty close, because I think that they're more alike than they think they are.

• they liked each other from the moment that they met each other.

• they just clicked.

• they're not besties or anything, but they are friends on Facebook, and Santana feels comfortable enough with him to spam like his page.

• granted, that might not have much to do with her comfort levels with him specifically, and more to do with her complete and utter lack of shame.

• anyway.

• he's one of the first people to know that she's a lesbian, because when she gets drunk she has absolutely no self control. she confessed to him through tears and sips of patron on the kitchen floor.

• Santana pretended not to remember, but both her and Blaine knew that she did.

• and after that they were just... friends.

• Santana is SO protective of him, to the point where he's had to grab her and walk out of stores because she was about to assault somebody.

• they text each other until 3am, and typically it's just complete and utter nonsense.

• Santana sends him videos of her singing sometimes when she doesn't really want to show Mr. Schue yet.

• he sends her music recommendations all of the time, which kind of sparked her interest in musical theater, which Rachel later aggressively fueled.

• Santana gay panics to him about Brittany constantly.

• Blaine gay panics to her about Kurt constantly.

• really a lot of their friendship is built on them being gay disasters with incredible voices.

• Blaine is lowkey her hype man, even if he doesn't really like the performance. he's gonna pretend that he does, because it's Santana.

• wheras Santana is brutally honest with him, which is something that he eventually comes to appreciate, even though it kinda irritates him the first few times that it happens.

• he was actually really upset when she got kicked out of Glee Club, and that incident is one of the things that makes him dislike Mr. Schue.

• when Santana got outed, he was one of the only people that she would willingly speak to, alongside Brittany, Kurt, & Quinn.

• Santana has tried to teach Blaine how to twerk before, with Brittany clapping on the sidelines. she was unsuccessful, but at least she tried.

• Blaine always tries to rope her into singing with him, and while she pretends to hate it, she always ends up singing with him anyway.

• she insults his clothes constantly.

• he picks up random mannerisms of her's, specifically her tendency to speak with her hands.

• Blaine is pretty good at knowing when to leave her alone, because she gets very angry, very fast. he's always been pretty decent at reading when her mood shifts, so he's really good at giving her space when she needs it.

• Santana is one of the first people that he tells about his new standing as a Cheerio.

• she thinks that it's funny, and she even jokingly wolf whistles at him when she first sees him in the uniform, but she also warns him to watch out for Sue.

• people don't really know that they're friends.

• they aren't hiding it, but it's just kinda their thing.

Rewatching Hand In My Pocket/I Feel the Earth Move made me think of another reason why I love this performance and particularly as one leading into the proposal:

It’s as simple as that, Santana leading them to sit in the back row for a bit. It’s such a random thing, isn’t it, to cut through the chairs mid performance just to hang with Tina for a sec. Except you know what it makes me think of if you’ve heard me talk about Brittana and it just reinforces how apt it is that the proposal takes place in the choir room.

She used to sit in that back row. And you can bet she’ll still be counting the number of times her wife smiles at her.

santana herself has admitted to being clingy with her “sorry i can’t go an hour without seeing you because i’ll just miss you too much xo” bs lmao. i think it’s super adorable, and i love that brittany finds in endearing rather than being annoyed by it, or feeling suffocated.

she’s just a softie (who pretends to be cold and nonchalant) who enjoys spending time with her gf, whether that be bubble bath dates, hugs, cuddling in the back of the choir room, linking pinkies/holding hands etc.

Omg Santana during A Wedding is just unabashed "I love my wife!!!" and I love that for her, needy bitch can finally show her true face. And yeah exactly, they're perfect because Brittany doesn't mind at all and the only issue is that she has her own quirks which Santana loves but also knows when to put a stop to. Santana will be like, I'm gonna sit in Brittany's lap right now and curl into her, and Britt won't mind because duh, the floor is lava anyway.

I really like looking at Santana internal conflict in the "softie wanting to seem real tough" kind of way because it's so amusing. Sure it's also tragic because so much of that toughness was instilled in her and it's hard work to unlearn the harmful ideas she gets from mainly Sue and Alma. Though I also like that Santana will always have an edge to her, it's not like her cruel tendencies are entirely because of nurture (or the lack thereof). Anyway this is about Brittana fluff, yes, Santana constantly craves affection and Britt doesn't mind.

Who do you see as the more affectionate one in Brittana?

I think they're probably equally affectionate but maybe in different ways? Or with different intervals and intensity.

Brittany is more casually affectionate as a constant, both with words and physical touch. Santana is more needy or at least that's my headcanon lol, so she gets into these moods when she will not let go of Brittany and just be really sappy. I'm talking literally clinging to her. I'm talking watching her smile and randomly bursting into tears. She's just so happy, okay?

They're both canonically affectionate though, like their choir room cuddles or some mild PDA. They really don't overdo it in public which is understandable but they have that constant level. Pinkies, smiles, nicknames, so I think they match each other's energies pretty well.
