“It’s my favorite part because you see- Here’s where she meets Prince Charming. But she won’t discover that it’s him til chapter three.”
My laptop situation is resolved, and I’m back to uploading pictures! Beauty and the Beast. My friends were charming as these characters, and I had a lot of fun coming up with really unique designs based one French court fashion. These were definitely the most difficult costumes to make, and I would like to go back an experiment with this era of clothing again to see what else I could do.

I love being an adult because you know what actually happens when you run your car into a curb and scratch up the bumper?
Nothing. You get it fixed, or you don’t. Whatevs.
You know what actually happens when you are depressed or sick or on your period and don’t cook dinner?
Nothing. You still get to eat something, nobody scolds you, it doesn’t have any real bearing on your future success, and you don’t get soft shunned for a week by your family.
You know what actually happens when you break stuff, forget stuff, get sick, fall asleep, are rude, miss a flight, don’t know how to do XYZ thing on fixing cars or canning food or whatever, lose things, get lost because you can’t read a map and forgot to charge your phone, buy the wrong groceries, plant the wrong plants, not make your bed, make your bed wrong, jump on your bed, sleep on your bed, eat crackers in your bed, have emotions literally anywhere?
Nothing.
Nothing happens.
No one is mad.
No one can hurt you, and if they do there are laws saying they can’t and that it’s an actual crime with legal consequences.
All there are are outcomes and different paths and different problems and different situations and you just bumble your way forward into dealing with those and that’s it. That’s the whole thing. It’s not the wrong choice, having problems isn’t indicative of your inherent badness or inadequacy or lack of applying yourself. It’s just life, and it’s happening to literally everyone.
I’m not even kidding.
You just do stuff and nothing bad happens. Walk around existing? Nothing bad will happen. Wild.
You can cry. In public. And the most likely outcome is not that you will get taken away to receive the beating of your lifetime, it is that people will mostly ignore you and some will be kinder to you. 🤯

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that Aurora’s dress was my favorite, and the idea of making my friend Brennan dress up as a princess wasn’t at least some part of the inspiration for this project. There was so much hand sewing involved, but I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Lawrence is also a perfect Prince Phillip, playing the role of a charming prince so well, giant puffy sleeves and all (which make me giddy. I love those sleeves so much)
The two of them together are enchanting. I hope I get to work with them both again someday in the future. This was another photo set where I just couldn’t resist playing around with the background in one of the photos. Firefly Photography just made it too tempting with how amazing these turned out.

“A whole new world…“
"A whole new life…”
“For you and me…”
I actually first met Nami when she was dressed as Jasmine many years ago. I knew she’s been wanting to make a version of the character inspired by traditional Indian fashion, so I reached out to her immediately to see if she’d like to be a part of this project. She designed her costume herself, and she was an amazing resource helping me design Aladdin to match, helping me find resources to create something was true to traditional Indian menswear while still felt like it fit with Aladdin. While I’m sure I could have done some things better, it was a huge learning experience for me, and I’m very grateful for it.
I did a little editing on two of the photos to change the background (probably easy to guess which!) The photographer was so good with lighting that it made it very easy to do.

Well, that’s the good part I guess. You get to go find a new dream.
These are two of the most beautiful people I know and if at all possible this won’t be the last time I find a way to talk them into fairy tale costumes. Amy is the one who designed and made the Rapunzel costume, and she did a breathtaking job. The two of them have such great chemistry, and Darrin was the perfect charming rogue in my Flynn Rider designs. These are just some of my favorite photos of the two of them, but there are SO MANY good ones. They just have so much wonderful energy that really made the costumes and characters shine.
I’ll keep updating with more photos from this amazing shoot <3

Cheyenne Lazore designed this ribbon skirt to say thank you to Ireland Lacrosse for its decision to withdraw from the 2022 World Lacrosse Games, ensuring the Iroquois Nationals entry the international tournament. (Jaiden Mitchell) An Akwesasne mom’s love for lacrosse inspired a ribbon skirt that pays homage to Ireland’s national team for withdrawing from the next World Games to make room for the Iroquois Nationals.

“I just want to thank Team Ireland for doing that. It meant so much to Indian country. It meant a lot and inspired me to do this,” said Cheyenne Lazore, a Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) crafter from Akwesasne, which straddles the Ontario, Quebec, and New York state borders.
The 11th edition of the World Games is set to be held in Birmingham, Ala., in July 2022, and it will be the first time men’s lacrosse will be included in the games. The Iroquois Nationals, which represent the Haudenosaunee Confederacy in international field lacrosse, were originally told they were ineligible to compete under International Olympic Committee rules.
After an international movement of support was sparked for the team, Ireland voluntarily vacated its men’s national team’s position in the 2022 World Games to ensure there were no barriers to the Iroquois Nationals’ entry to the tournament.
The bright green skirt is called I Dteannta a chéile - Together As One, after the slogan adopted by both lacrosse teams following the announcement. The skirt includes six panels with Irish influences and beaded celestial trees — a common symbol in Haudenosaunee cultures.

Lazore’s 11-year-old daughter is a lacrosse goalie and one day hopes to play for the Haudenosaunee women’s team. They’re both huge lacrosse fans.
“We never miss any local games. When we go to her tournaments, we watch all the other games. We’ve watched the Iroquois Nationals on TV since she was little, when they played in Syracuse,” said Lazore.
“When most kids run around the arena, she would sit there and watch.”
Lazore said in making the skirt, she was able to teach her daughter about humbleness and the importance of lacrosse. The sport was invented by the Haudenosaunee. It’s referred to as a medicine game, as a gift from the Creator, to be played for his enjoyment and for healing.
“It meant a lot for me to teach her that humbleness and how lacrosse is our game. We gave it to the world, and for Team Ireland to give that back to us, it just meant so much. I just wanted to teach her all about that humbleness, and just how much it means to us,” she said.
Sky Timmons, who modelled the skirt, echoed similar sentiments.
“It was incredible because how Ireland Lacrosse presented themselves and stepped down and gave the position to the Iroquois. That’s what is making this so big,” said Timmons, whose mom is from Akwesasne and father is non-Indigenous with Irish heritage.
“Everyone had so much respect for them. That’s her way of giving thanks to them, to showcase her work with their symbol on it.”
