STRANGER THAN FICTION
Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard, two of the pre-teen starts of Netflix original ‘Stranger Things’ (and my future best friends, hopefully) feature on this month’s cover of Dazed’s winter issue!
Photographed by Collier Schorrand and styled by Robbie Spencer, Dazed wanted the shoot to remain youth-focused and simple, with subtle references to the show through small hand-written elements and collaging.

Zaha Hadid’s 2017 BRIT Award statue revealed!
The design for the statues awarded to the winners of the 2017 Brit Awards has been unveiled - the five trophies were designed by the architect Zaha Hadid who sadly died this year...NOT Gigi Hadid, like I originally heard. Gloop!
Tumblr media
Hadid is the seventh designer to have redesigned the Brit trophy following the likes of Vivienne Westwood (2011), Sir Peter Blake (2012), Damien Hirst (2013), Philip Treacy (2014) and Pam Hogg (2015).

COME TOGETHER
THANK YOU Wes Anderson for making 2016 just a little bit better. The four-minute ad, staring Adrien Brody, is meant to be promoting the high street retailer’s Christmas 2016 collection, but it is basically just a homage to the creative genius of Anderson.

KRISTEN STEWART x ROLLING STONES
Oh Kristen. You’ve come such a long way from those awkward teen years in Panic Room.
Tumblr media
The Rolling Stones released their new video for their Eddie Taylor cover ‘Ride Em On Down’ and wooowie, is it a good one! Kristen features taking a joyride around LA in '65 Mustang, and the action is so mesmerizing that the song itself feels incidental to the shots.
The track is lifted from the Stones’ new album of blues covers, ‘Blue & Lonesome’, out today (December 2).

H&M’s ‘SHE’S A LADY’ ADVERT
youtube
Soundtracked by Lion Babe's cover of Tom Jones' classically misogynist song "She's a Lady",H&M's new ad redefines society's traditional image of a woman, celebrating femininity in all its forms.
The ad includes actress Lauren Hutton, model Adwoa Aboah, trans actress Hari Nef, Design Army's chief creative officer Pum Lefebvre, and Lion Babe's Jillian Hervey, all of whom are "entertaining, opinionated, off-beat and fearless. Bad-ass, independent and free-willed."

THE WHITE STRIPES’ CITY LIGHTS VIDEO
youtube
Michel Gondry has directed the video for White Stripes’ new single City Lights. Filmed entirely in front of a steamed-up pane of glass, an unidentified character draws a series of images accompanying the band’s lyrics.
I’m all for drawing in the bathroom mirror, but for five minutes?? Surely that character is going to be late for work?!

ART VS. FASHION
Fashion has fueled creatives for decades, giving designers inspiration for their craft. The rise of popularity with DIY collage has enabled designers such as Kalen Hollomon, Davide Bedone, and Ava Nirui to combine fashion with classic art in an interesting way. Here’s a few of their looks posted via Instagram:

ART EXHIBITION FOR DOGS
youtube
Artist and inventor Dominic Wilcox has designed a contemporary art exhibition for dogs, featuring interactive installations created specifically for the attributes of our furry friends. Each piece is based on an activity dogs enjoy, such as smelling shoes or chasing balls. Dominic has also curated a series of paintings by other artists that employ colours within the animal’s visual spectrum, and are hung at dogs’ eye level.

Likeminds
A new creative conference called Likeminds invites artists and designers of all backgrounds and specialties to a summer camp in New York for a weekend of food, drinks, live music, and a schedule of speakers. (they had me after food and drinks!!)
In preparation of the creative conference, two of the speakers Leta Sobierajski and Wade Jeffree took charge of the art direction, and alongside photographer Meredith Jenks, created a series of high-colour visuals that are eye-catching and successfully showcases collaborations between creatives in the industry.

Red Bull Music Academy Tour posters
Tumblr media
Red Bull has teamed up with design studio Another Kind and furniture designer Dale Kirk to produce a series of colourful posters advertising Red Bull’s Music Academy Tour.
The arrangements of shapes are actually blocks of wood, composed to create iconic landscapes that match the cities of where the tour is visiting. Once photographed, the colours were digitally manipulated to create four different city identities; London, Leeds, Liverpool, and Glasgow. Check it out!

Stormzy’s Ultimate Fan
Stormzy’s collaboration with Subway and Pepsi MAX gave him the opportunity to search for his biggest fan; inviting 30 of his most loyal followers to a Subway branch in North London, the grime rapper appeared on screen challenging fans to get the lyrics right to ‘Know Me From’. The results are actually really impressive, check it out! (Obviously it doesn’t hold a candle to my ‘Superbass’ karaoke, but it’s alright.)

Interactive “who-dunnit” murder mystery music video
An immersive interactive music video (featuring the track ‘Next To You’ from German rapper Kontra K) allows the viewer to watch a storyline and switch between the present and the past by holding down the space bar.
Look out for hidden clues that are highlighted through visual clues - but only if you’re in the right dimension where and while they appear! Very thrilling to watch!
