Hiya! It's been a looong time since I made a post so I feel it's time to talk about what's happening and what will happen with LADI. I owe it to all of you that have been kind enough to follow, reach out, and support! 🧡 I was pretty young (21) when I made this account to share the works of fellow Latinx designers. The problem is, very quickly, I made a lot of mistakes, namely making a lot promises that I underestimated the undertaking of. While I had every single intention and belief that I could see those promises through, I was naïve and unfortunately involved individuals and their trust in me. In addition, I had a lot of housing and familial problems that took me away from LADI. The worse of it was imposter syndrome, after I did a really bad presentation on LADI's branding. Although no one has directly criticized my effort, I do feel responsible for being away without explanation.🔹️ For the last 1-2 years, I have been doing my best to support myself, and that's all it is. Sparing all the personal details, 2019 was a very important year in which I ultimately realized what spaces I felt unwelcomed and which I just plainly don't like. This made a really profound impact on how I view my worth and what design spaces I want to work in, and it didn't feel right going on here giving guidance when I wasn't guiding myself. 🔸️ I'm taking a different path in design and illustration, one that's very different from what I'm used to. I'm honestly so very excited for what I'm creating in this new sector I'm working in, and I've never had such clarity. I dont know when I'll be active again, but do know I see ALL OF YOU doing such great things and I'm still here to lift y'all up and support you, even if I cant post. I'll never stop trying to making space for us in design, illustration, and art. At this time I'm just learning how to make my own brand new space, instead of squeezing in oppressive ones, for my personal survival. 💜💚 If you've emailed and haven't heard back, please understand! The Position This tenure-track position includes instruction in Visual Communication Design—specifically in motion and sequential graphics, interface and experiential design (UX/UI), and typography—for undergraduate courses within the Department of Art. This position requires teaching, advising, as well as professional and creative  activities in Visual Communication Design or a related area.  The faculty in this position would also be involved in department, college, and university service. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications M.F.A. in Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, or a related field completed by time of appointment. Demonstration of ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, creative activities, teaching, advising, and service.
