the thing is that for many years, it was always thrown in taylor's face that she "couldn't keep a man", that her relationships were short and intense and didn't warrant the way she wrote about her muses. "who could stay?" then she finally finds someone who is willing to stay with her, but not marry her; eventually, staying becomes boring and complacent and being stuck in an endless loop of sadness together with no trying.
