Idc if this comes off as "harsh" but imma say what needs to be said. There's no fucking excuse for digital artist that white-wash/lighten brown and black characters. I'm tried of all the "it's just the lighting😿" and "it's not that deep☠️" because we know damn well it ain't the light and it is in fact "that deep".

Digital artist have access to millions of colors and resources to the point it should literally be impossible to white wash darker skinned characters!!!!!

Then on top of that we only have so many black/darker-skinned characters as is and for you to go out of your way to significantly lighten these characters shows your lack of common fucking sense.

In addition, I also wanna talk about the black acoss the spiderverse characters specifically bc thats the whole reason im making this post. STOP TAKING AWAY THE 4C HAIR TEXTURE THESE CHARACTERS HAVVE. I recently came across a drawing of hobie brown on Twitter with "wet hair" and tell me why tf the artist drew him with golden retriever straight hair💀. When he literally wears WICKSSS!!! Plus the artist gave a shit ass apology and said "if you dont like it scroll away".

IN CONCLUSION, if you can't draw darker skinned characters properly then don't draw them at all‼️‼️

I am pissed.

So this homeless man, Jordan Neely, gets on the New York City Subway and has this mental health crisis. He is complaining about being tired of being hungry. He was having a mental health crisis. Talking to himself.

So instead of fucking helping him, this fucking demon chokes Jordan out. Puts him in a sleeper hold/rear naked choke for longer than 15 minutes. Kills him. All the other bystanders watched and cheered on the execution because Jordan was “unhinged.”

This is fucking New York!

But wait there’s more. The NYPD comes instead of arresting the killer. They let him go and say the kill was justified. They then release Jordan’s priors to the public and boy, let me tell you. The media has a fucking field day.

They victim-blamed Jordan. And treat his killer as a hero.

Who was Jordan Neely?

Jordan was a busker in the 80s who made a living dancing to Michael Jackson tunes and doing MJ impressions in the subway….until the NYPD swept all such gatherings up. That led to this man’s death.

You cheered on this man’s death. It was a public lynching, you fucking ghouls. You suffocated his expression and then you cheered as you literally choked him to death. Fucking white people.

I think a big reason why "children are an oppressed group" gets (wrongly!) read as a "pedophile talking point" is that everyone treats children so terribly that actual child molesters can speedrun winning a kid's trust by like, actually respecting their needs and perspective, at least at first. Which means that the only way out of this mess is for all of us adults to treat children with respect, so that abusers can't use the rareness of that respect as a weapon.

My university got bombed this morning

This maybe sounds mean, but I think we should be able to send doctors “hey, you were wrong” letters.

I was misdiagnosed with asthma when I was 12 and took asthma meds daily for seven years, and then it turned out I hadn’t had asthma in the first place; I actually have a different breathing problem. I don’t think the doctor who told me I had asthma (my pediatrician, who I was no longer seeing by that point) ever found out she’d been wrong. (This is one of at least four misdiagnoses in my life, from a variety of doctors, that I can think of off the top of my head.) Similarly, my first therapist told me she didn’t think I was autistic because I wasn’t obsessed with trains. I don’t think she ever found out that I am, in fact, autistic, because I wasn’t seeing her by the time I was diagnosed.

I get that it might be demoralizing to have someone contact you specifically to tell you that you messed up, but I think it would be useful for doctors to have data on how often they misdiagnose patients, especially since some doctors tend to think the patient is generally wrong when attempting self-diagnosis. It would be useful for my former therapist to move me from the mental column of “people who erroneously think they’re autistic” to “people whose autism I did not notice when they were right in front of me.” It would be useful for my pediatrician to realize she needed to look more closely and listen to kids when their breathing symptoms weren’t the classic asthma ones.

Doctors can get on their high horse and refuse to believe patients a lot of the time, and the power dynamic makes that dangerous in plenty of situations. I think it would be helpful to have a way to at least alert doctors when we have proof they messed up.

The worst thing you can do, as someone who has recently realised they are transfem, is to let terves and transphobes convince you cis women will never accept you.

I was told that when I came out everyone would reject me. That I would find myself isolated from the world, and from other women especially, who would react to me with horror and revulsion.

In reality, within the first months of coming out, in no particular order:

My sister's reaction on my coming out was, "Right, so I have a sister instead of a brother. Cool. I'm taking you clothes shopping tomorrow."

A friend, when she learned I am a woman, immediately invited me to her women-only, girls-night-out birthday party the following week.

Another friend, when a friend of hers expressed doubts about my gender, immediately shut them down and reaffirmed I am a woman.

I went camping with a group of friends, and we had two tents, one for the boys and one for the girls; I was unsure as to which I should enter, to which a girl friend responded by grabbing me and physically dragging me inside the women's tent.

In the women's bathroom at a movie theatre a random woman, whom I'd never seen before and haven't seen since, stopped me as I was going into a stall, to warn me there was no toilet paper in there, because she'd just used the last of it.

All of these, and more, some from friends, some from complete strangers. All within a few months, as a trans woman who hadn't started medical transition yet, and was very visible as being a trans woman.

I've had some people reject me, true, but the vast majority, including almost all cis women, accepted me as a sister with open arms.

Cis women are cool. It's terves who are bigots.
