Honestly, ever since becoming a fanfic writer myself I’ve become like 500% more understanding and patient about other authors’ update schedules. An author takes 6+ months to post their next chapter? Yeah, totally get that real life can get in the way. An author abandons a fic? Disappointing, but it happens- sometimes inspiration for a story just dies. An author apologizes about taking so long to post a 10k word chapter? Dude, that’s like 18-20 pages on Word single-spaced. It takes me at least a week to write an essay for school a quarter the length of that, and that’s with a deadline. 

It’s probably the most important thing writing fanfic has taught me, tbh. How to fully appreciate the hard work someone else has put into their story. How important the role of the audience is to an author. And that no matter what, you are never entitled to demand more of a story that you are getting for free.

sad reality of the fanfic-to-published work economy is that the weirdest people are willing to do it. that's why there's now hundreds of shitty no plot cishet hate-to-love enemies-to-lovers books that are ex reylo fanfic. and it's not even good. that's because the people who wrote book-quality steve/bucky and kirk/spock fic are too normal to think to themselves "i should get this porn published". they're too busy working in local government offices

Jeff and Yun-Jin gotta be having the worst time in the fog tho, right???

they knew their associated killers personally. Jeff went to high school with the Legion, and Yun-Jin was Trickster's manager. Everyone else is like "idk i guess that place was just haunted and the Entity grabbed me" but Jeff is like "...i went to highschool with them, they were this cringy little gang that vandalized an old ski resort and shoplifted" and Yun-Jin is like, "...i made that guy famous".

Not to mention the Legion and Trickster absolutely having all that ammo to taunt them while killing them.
