i’m the kind of pretty that people like to break glass doll upon a shelf,  invitation to cruel hands  coaxing apathy stained fingers to reach forth eagerness to be the one who left me shattered

“Hmm, I don’t think I’ve ever truly celebrated a holiday before.”
Tumblr media
"Caminus is a very religious colony. There's a number of festivals through a Camien vorn... the one just starting is a new vorn celebration. It celebrates the first strike of the sacred forge.
I haven't... really been able to observe it since I came to Cybertron. The Way of Flame isn't a popular religion on the homeworld."

That, at least, catches her off-guard somewhat. It seemed he didn't know what exactly the significance of the markings on her face happened to be, but that only served as more of a curiosity. Out of instinct, one hand lifts to touch the stained red marks that were burned into her face a lifetime ago.
"They're... ceremonial."
A half truth. Covering up her nature was something Elita had taught her ages ago, after the rest of her envoy had been killed in that raid. Surely other cityspeakers survived, but on Earth?
On Earth, it was a different matter entirely. She was just grateful her unique talents held little value at this point in the conflict.
"A religious mark. Nothing more."
The big smirks falls slightly, what an lackluster reaction. He gives a small puff or air, His expression ones more turning neutral almost bored. He had hoped for some fun action but this is turning out to be a rather dull normal conversation. But it's better then standing around doing nothing he suppose.
"No, Not really" He admits after a moment. The best lies does have a silver of truth in them and he had seen the colonies, but it was before he met Megatron. So while he hadn't seen them burn, his sure they where gone by now, few things survived the war after all.
"It was so long ago, I can't remember why we where there." He lifts a sharp claw, pointing at Wingblades face "But I remember bots with painted faces"

"I'd love to make a traditional meal for the Festival of the First Strike, but it's so much... who would I even share it with?"

Various festivals I've put together thus far:
Festival of the First Strike Effectively Camien New Year. It celebrates the first strike of Solus's forge. Most Camiens treat it as an excuse for creating a huge feast and setting off fireworks.
Festival of the New Dawn Literally a celebration of Solus Prime's death, on the date they believe this occurred. It's the "official" celebrated forging date of all Camiens. More ceremonial than anything.
Festival of the Torchbearers A festival that celebrates the work of the blacksmiths. It's basically an excuse to hit gongs with big hammers. Those with blacksmiths in their family often throw huge communal parties.
Lamplighter's Eve Celebrating the anniversary of the day the first cityspeaker heard the voice of the titan in her mind, which in turn saved the colony. Offerings are made at temples to honor the cityspeakers.

"Only an ambassador."
Not that the role of a cityspeaker carries much else these days, she realizes. The only titans are back on Cybertron, and human cities aren't exactly talkative in the way Caminus and Metroplex were.
Still, she huffs faintly, her expression just barely avoiding becoming a pout as she straightens, folding her arms again.
She reminds herself, quickly, not to rise to the bait.
Instead she takes in and lets out a soft vent, tipping her chin up again as she fixes him with as mild a gaze as she can manage. "I was unaware many homeworlders visited the colonies."
He studies the way she bows, a little surprised at even receiving one back, it makes something tickle the back of his head. Old memories of a past he rather stay forgotten. He gives her a proper look over as he crosses his arms, sharp claws tapping against his plates.
"Only Ambassador?" It's more an quiet observation then a question. He quickly moves on, a gruel glimmer in his eyes.
"Of Caminus you say? I remember that place, Many temples. Not as breathtaking as Vos" He tilts his head just the slightest, giving a smirk that is more then anything a show of sharp teeth "and a lot more fire last time I laid eyes on it"

Had to draw my Favorite Girl.
This was initially an attempt at a TFE version but uh. I can't mimic that style so!

Those bright blue optics stay fixed on his face, following him when he bows, back straight and wings pulled high on her back. At the very least, he seems polite enough... different than what some people liked to mutter amongst themselves.
She had always tried to listen to what Elita told her, so though she tried to seem a bit less bristled, she remained uneasy all the same.
In the way she'd learned in the temples when she'd been very young, though, she folds her hands to bow forward, wings spreading to the sides. An indication of an upbringing in the priesthood.
"...Windblade of Caminus. Ambassador."
No use giving away what she really was. If he recognized the significance of her markings, then he would know without her saying regardless.
Starscream gives a small amused chuckles. She clearly knows about him and starscreams knows what they say about him. Nasty things whispered between bots. Oh this will be fun.
"I mearly jest. Please, excuse this foolish seeker for his unbecoming behaviour" and with that he flawlessly slides into an old traditional Vosian bow. One of greeting and respect. For giving respect can get you far.
"I am sure you already know, but if you somehow don't" he raises again just as smoothly. "My designation is Starscream"

Thinking about temples and some minor worship aspects for those who follow the Way of Flame, because it's a neat thing to think about.
The Way of Flame is veneration of the sacred forge of Solus Prime, and the belief that all Camiens are descendants of her sacred spark. We don't get to learn much of the religion overall, but there's a distinct focus on creation and fire as a creative force, not a destructive one.
I get the feeling that the Way of Flame utilizes massive open spaces with very little natural light- most of the temples are illuminated not using artificial light, either, but instead hundreds of torches, maintained by the temple priests.
Many blacksmiths tend to work directly within the temples, as their job directly relates to the creation of new life.
Only the Mistress of Flame would be able to cross the threshold to the center circle, lined with "eternal" flames in a circle on the floor, with a central forge serving as the fire that feeds all the torches in the temple proper.
Adherents of the Way of Flame come to the temple on holy days to have a small torch lit to take home, often to light small household shrines for certain forms of worship.
The temples, I think, are also where cityspeakers may reside. The cities themselves, the metrotitans, are likely considered minor deities, and as cityspeakers come online with the innate gift of telepathy that allows them to learn to touch the minds of the giants and understand their ancient dialect, they're considered members of the priesthood.
Caminus has one central temple in the middle of the city, though there is one built during the reconstruction on Cybertron, which is where Windblade eventually comes to reside. While she does not take on the full title, she has the same role and duties here as the Mistress of Flame herself.

are there any glaring big differences from canon in your portrayal that you particularly enjoy, or anything canon didn't elaborate further on and you did?
Ask anything you'd like about my characterization or how I play my character.
Tumblr media
The biggest change I made, something that translates through every version of Windblade I play (including my original Aligned verse I developed in 2014!), is that I prefer seeing cityspeakers as having latent telepathy.
It always seemed strange to me that you had these people who apparently could communicate with Titans and their ancient language, but the fact that it wasn't something everyone could learn?
It being something that could be spotted from a young age made a lot more sense to me.
In all verses, Windblade is sparkborn as opposed to being forged, and her carrier was also a cityspeaker. Or at least had trained for a time- his gift wasn't strong enough for him to fully utilize.
Windblade, however, has a particularly strong gift. On the other hand, she's also very headstrong and can be incredibly stubborn when pressed, so they hadn't wanted her to train at all. But train she did, and she's a very accomplished cityspeaker, despite being relatively young.
I think that's the biggest change I made overall. I just like playing with the openings her being a natural telepath give me.
