a simple spell to bring forth motivation to overcome obstacles and reach your goals ✨

what you’ll need:

🌙 last quarter moon | overcoming obstacles, motivation

🌙 orange candle | energy, change

🌙 paper | to write down goals or corresponding sigils

🌙 firesafe dish | to dispose of burning paper

steps:

🌙 cleanse and consecrate your spell materials

🌙 on the night of a last quarter moon, preferably outside, light your orange candle

🌙 by your candlelight, write down your goals on a small slip of paper (you can also use sigils, if you prefer)

🌙 meditate on feelings of motivation and high energy, as well as the completion of your goals. read over your paper a few times if you’d like

🌙 pass your paper through the flame of your candle until lit, then place it in your firesafe container to burn it. scatter the ashes outside

the next morning you should feel energized and motivated ✨

Dollar Store Witchcraft

Dollar store candles are the best, and I absolutely adore them! Tealights, votives, tapers, jar candles, etc are all at dollar stores. Electric candles are also good choices for people who can’t have things burning.

Incense is also a popular find at dollar stores now. To avoid buying an incense burner, I fill a jar or cup with rice and place burning sticks inside.

Buy a letter opener! It can be used as a cheap athame, and it can look really nice if you wrap twine around the handle ;)

Some dollar stores sell cute teeny-tiny wine glasses. These make great chalices!

Use fake flowers to decorate your altar.

Buy little bowls to use as offering dishes.

Fragrance oils can make lovely gifts to deities. They can also work as consecration or blessing oils if needed.

Little dollar store notebooks can be decorated to be used for grimoires/ books of shadows.

The air freshening sprays can be used to cleanse and area (especially if they have corresponding scents)

Roses can be used in place of any flower

Clear quartz can be used in place of any crystal

Other tips

Download a dice app on your phone for easy yes/ no answers (1-3 is no, 4-6 is yes)

Print out a deck of tarot cards for free online (look up tarot pdf)

Buy candles from dollar tree, dollar general, etc.

Dollar stores also sell incense

Use birthday candles and tealights for candle spells

Instead of buying an incense burner, you can just place the end of the stick inside of a jar filled with uncooked rice

Visit some thrift shops/ flea markets (you’ll thank me later haha)

Use an old kitchen knife, pocket knife, or letter opener for an athame

Use a decorated chopstick or regular stick for a wand

rice water toner🌾

I’ve been meaning to share this recipe not only for its magical properties, but  because it’s honestly changed my skin in ways no store-bought toner has

rice is associated with mother-type deities and feminine energy. it can be used in spells for protection, wealth and blessings. when applied to the skin as rice water, it has anti-inflammatory and brightening properties

keep it in the fridge and apply with a cotton pad after the shower, it feels so so good. on lazy days i’ll just use this as my face cleanser, but keep in mind I have fairly normal skin🌜

Materials

·      organic white/jasmine/basmati rice·      bowl·      water·      container

Steps

·      add a handful of rice to the bowl and rinse it first, disposing of the water

·      add your desired amount of water to the bowl and set aside

·      let it soak for 1-3 hours and bottle the water in a separate container, then refrigerate (the rice can still be used for cooking)

·      optional add-ins: rose petals, lavender, calendula flowers 🥀
