     “So,  big favor.   Two,  actually,  BUT !   I’m ready to pay you for both,  however you’d like!“     Dewey slides further into the booth at the diner so he’s sitting in the corner between the chair and the wall.   It’s almost as if he’s trying to make himself look smaller,  or more vulnerable.   Dirty tricks to get what he wants.     “Parents’ Night is coming up super soon,  so this might be a little short - notice,  but I was wondering if we could ask Lulu’s pie shop to cater a few pies our way!   I’m not super sure about how many,  but you’ve been to Parents’ Night,  so you get the idea of how that all is.”

     Dewey sighs,  expression shifting to more of a sheepish one.     “I don’t know if you were planning on going to Parents’ Night this year,  BUT,  I was also going to ask if your and - slash - or Lulu would be able to watch the twins for the night?   I was gonna just keep them with me,  but Rosie reminded me I have an actual class now and not,  like.   An elective.   So that’s a bust.” 

    ‘ dewey finn, how dare you                 ask  so  politely  to  send  some  big  business  my  way.  ”       she  tsks,  a  smirk  tugging  at  the  corner  of  her  mouth  as  she  reorganizes  the  utensils  at  the  booth.   in  all  honesty,  jenna  was  shocked  that  it  took  him  this  long  to  ask.   she’s  become  prone  to  catering  a  striking  amount  of  horace  green  events,  or,  at  the  very  least,  nearly  all  events  that  lulu  herself  was  involved  in.   and  her  daughter  is  an  overachiever   -   so  that’s   A  LOT   of  pie.   but  it’s  no  trouble  for  jenna,  a  virtual  pie  factory  who  can  whip  them  out  in  no  time  at  all.       “  you  know  i’m  on  it,  doll,  no  need  to  worry.    you  tell  me  what  kinda  pies  you  want  and  i’ll  have  them  to  you  in  time  for  the  big  night.  “

    and speaking of the big                 night,  jenna  isn’t  quite  sure  just  where  she  stands  yet.   she’s  attended  parents  night  in  the  past,  and  ranks  it  as  almost  more  enjoyable  than  a  trip  to  the  dentist’s  with  a  mouthful  of  cavities.    lulu  has  sensed  her  mother’s  disdain  for   YEARS   now   -   and  finally  told  her  mother  that  both  her  and  her  pristine  reputation  would  survive  if  she  didn’t  sit  in  a  classroom  with  her  teachers  breathing  in  chalkdust  for  an  hour.   still,  jenna  feels  some  sort  of  obligation,  both  to  her  daughter  and  her  own  odd  -  thumb  shtick.   no  one  else  is  gonna  do  it.    “  -  i  am,  uh,  still  thinkin’  about  whether  or  not  i’m  gonna  show,  honestly.   but  no  matter  what  i  decide,  i’m   SURE   lu  would  be  up  for  watching  the  twins.   she  always  jumps  at  the  chance  to  earn  some  cash  outside  of  the  diner.  “

       ‘  is he... oh !   no, nothing              like  that,  no,  uh   -   he’s  fine.    just  had  other  stuff  to  do.  ”       since  having  lulu,  jenna  has  obviously  been  around  children  moreso  now  than  ever,  but  neither  her  daughter  or  any  of  her  friends  have  struck  her  quite  like   THIS   girl.    the  waitress  gives  a  nervous  laugh  after  the  assumption  of   poor  ogie’s  demise   and  then  fumbles  a  bit  more  with  the  pies.     “  -  oh,  uh,  just  to  carry  them  inside  if  you  wouldn’t  mind,  hon.   don’t  want  them  to  splatter  on  the  floor  before  y’  have  a  chance  to  taste  them. “

A LITTLE UPDATE RE: ACTIVITY.      first of all, hi !       thank u to all my new followers who i somehow keep gaining despite my low activity  /   to my old followers who help me keep the ball rolling around here.        i am going back to school for a new semester next week, meaning activity will be increasingly spotty.       i will be trying to split my time between here and @signspin  (  fred from big hero 6 !  ),  as i’ve truly enjoyed my little reintroduction to rp over my break  <3            i can also occasionally be found on @nervecheck  and  @altarshine.

       delivery duty is jenna’s          least  favorite  aspect  of  running  the  diner.   normally,  it’s  ogie  that  handles  the  deliveries,  but  she’s  well  aware  that  the  diner  isn’t  his   ONLY   job.   with  the  place  hustling  and  bustling  enough  as  is,   jenna  had  thrown  her  apron  to  becky  for  double  duty  as  she  ran  out  to  do  away  with  their  last  pie  order  of  the  day.   with  a  deep  breath,  jenna  steps  forward  to  knock  on  the  door  with  her  free  hand,  but  gasps  when  it  opens  before  her  knuckles.   standing  before  her  is  a  young  girl   -   dressed  entirely  in  black   -   and  she  doesn’t  say  a  word.   the  waitress  clears  her  throat.         “  -  oh  !   hi  !    i’m  here  to  deliver  three  rhubarb  blackberry  pies  from  lulu’s  ?    “
