Concept: A gender reveal party but AFTER the kid is born.
Like when the kid is 6 or 12 or 18 or 24. When the kid has decided what their gender is or isn’t.

mona awad’s bunny is fun and topical gender and class commentary specifically tearing apart that genre of woman intellectual who knows all the language of feminist theory and uses it to justify being viciously sexist and racist bc this world is sooo big big big and full of scary (poor) people who’d probably rape me and horrible (not girl’s girls !!) bitches who want to be raped and im just an innocent little girl (she is 25) trying to make something beautiful (she maims animals). unfortunately youll never guess precisely which group got extremely into bunny as a straightforward ‘yuck boys !!’ ‘feminine rage’ book

Analysed every colour palette of The Fall of the house of Usher and concluded that each tone has a lonely, faint, and void-like feel to it. Every colour has shades of different feelings, of joy and love and even intoxication but here, each shade is of isolation, the kind that you associate with abandoned buildings, fallen hospitals, smell of drugs. The colours evoked my anxiety, almost like I was hearing ambulance siren. As soon as the screen turned a particular colour, I knew death was near, "The Raven" was near.
Great fucking job Flanagan.

the whole "it's boring to have the characters end up in heaven at the end" like, no it's not a boring ending and it's not what happened. they aren't in heaven, they are back inside of jughead's narration. they're teenagers forever. they're inside the story again. this whole season has had each and every character fighting their way out of the narrative they have been trapped inside, that jughead trapped them in, let them finally achieve that and gain their freedom only to die and end up back in the narrative again. they are back where they started.

too sleepy to elaborate at this time but I miss the old fandom culture of interacting with fanfic writers and fanfic artists as members of the fandom community who enjoyed engagement and discussion and feedback instead of the modern trend of seeing us as content creators up on a pedestal who don't need positive feedback but DO need to churn out constant content to feed the a03 machine

the older i get the more frustrating i find it how little people recognize or acknowledge it when massive problems start to get solved... i get the concept of focusing on unsolved problems and injustices to keep up the pressure of public opinion, but we should also acknowledge it when great things are accomplished. we just started rolling out the first-ever malaria vaccine which will likely save millions of children's lives. about half a million people die of malaria every year and over half of those deaths are children 5 years old and under. ive seen literally no one i know talking about this huge triumph for humanity
