I heard reference to something about how all anime are required to have good looking cabbage because of That One Time. So simply looking up "anime cabbage" I found the source.

Some harem anime way back in the day had an episode where the characters cooked, and they animated cabbage so terribly like this it left a bad mark on the anime community forever. Apparently this is part of the reason why all food usually looks good in anime, even moreso than the regular show sometimes. With cabbage being especially well drawn.

And high quality or low quality cabbage is sometimes referenced.

I learned of this because the most recent Hologra episode has noel eating cabbage, tearing apart a fine quality cabbage into two low poly halves.

pls give more details in rbs/tags im super curious about this!! ive been seeing a lot of people on the booktok side of tiktok talking about only ever reading one thing at once and its so odd to me.

i read several books at a time, on purpose, in all different forms! sometimes i just need a different vibe that what I’ve currently got. atm i am reading ACOTAR, a botanists daughter, one of us is dead, and lessons in chemistry! the last one i got from libby, and i ran out of time so im not working on it right now. I’m also listening to a kingdom of flesh and fire (sequel to from blood and ash), and im planning to start the enigma of room 622 as an audiobook, and start empire of the vampire, which i bought AGES ago, lost, and just found!

so thats five current, with two planned to start soon. im about a quarter of the way through kingdom of flesh and fire, half way through acotar, about 75% done with one of us is dead, and a couple chapters into both lessons in chemistry and a botanists daughter.

it does take me AGES to finish any one book because i jump around so much, but i find i dont struggle with remembering what had happened when i get back into a book i havent touched in a while

additionally, an odd side affect ive found of doing this is that i will associate random scenes from different books with eachother that i read one after the other, and i dont noticr it unless i do a reread!

unsung benefit i think a lot of ppl are sleeping on with using the public library is that i think its a great replacement for the dopamine hit some ppl get from online shopping. it kind of fills that niche of reserving something that you then get to anticipate the arrival of and enjoy when it arrives, but without like, the waste and the money.

had the incredibly unnerving experience of switching off the radio and getting out of the car only to hear the song keep playing before I realised that I wasn't in a movie this was just a petrol station also playing the same station and that is how radio works

love how Solar Opposites started out as a sitcom about two aliens who can't stand each other, stuck with their teenage clones (whom they also can't stand) & a toddler antichrist (whom they view as a sort of self-sufficient free-roaming hamster?) on a stupid planet they can't stand

and 4 seasons later it's a sitcom about a family of genderqueer aliens, headed by a gay couple in a happy & horny open marriage (with a graphic off-screen sex life, despite their canonical lack of genitalia?) teaching themselves to be okay parents to their 3 kids (whose Sci-Fi Antics now slightly-less-frequently revolve around wreaking havoc on human bystanders, and slightly-more-frequently revolve around alien-clone-sibling-bonding*), to the point that the central plot point becomes "We need to provide our toddler antichrist with a stable home environment."

(also the grumpy alien husband is too busy ingratiating his family with their suburban neighbors to even remember whom or what he dislikes. what is this show)

On anon but. I'm someone who has detransitioned. I just want to say that, I was on HRT for about a year. It changed my body in ways that I absolutely love. I have a deep voice, and sharper features, and I have new perspective on my identity and how it interacts with the world. Being trans is a journey. From when I was five up to when I was 17, I fullheartedly believed I was a boy. I was, in that moment. But now, I'm a girl, too. I feel better as a girl - prettier, comfortable. But when I was a boy, I felt good too - in that moment, I was handsome, and I felt so so strong. It's not as scary as it seems. People ebb and flow and change. You can be what you want to be, and if ultimately you want to go back? You can. Just don't discount your experience as a mistake. In the moment it felt right. In the present is what matters.. You'll reflect on it, and maybe you won't ever change. Maybe it'll be what sticks. And that's a lovely thing in and of itself. You will find the you that fits. You will become someone you love by letting yourself express. I promise. Holding back will just mute everything that makes you, you - don't feel like you need to medically transition, either. It was right for me, but research is key, in all things. You'll be beautiful no matter what. Your experiences will shape you - as long as you allow yourself the freedom of expression. I promise.

this is so beautiful. the word detransition does seem to have a negative connotation in certain spaces and im really happy to hear u sharing your positive experience.
