Attina did not think that it would enough to convince Arista so when the door opened, she was relieved that she did not have to go for her plan B. “Thank you.”, she said with a smile on her face before entering the house and taking her seat on the couch as well. “Before I go ahead and say it, I want to know how you’ve been first.”

“I’ve been okay, I guess.” Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at her older sister. “I’m still mad at you by the way. Like I get it...but the whole thing is still frustrating.” Sighing she gestured to the kitchen. “Did you want anything to drink? Water? Tea? Wine?”

Leaning with one hand against the doorframe, and the other on her swollen stomach, Arista flashed a tired smile towards her husband. “C’mere. Come feel.” She gestured for him to come closer, taking his hand and placing it in the spot where they could feel their child kicking up a storm. “Baby girl is gonna be active like her daddy.”

“So…Attina?” Sulley teased with a laugh. “I’d say Arielle but she turned my socks pink on purpose for April Fool’s Day and I’m still kinda salty about that, she’s sneaky, you know,” He chuckled at the memory and shook his head. “Okay, but that was four years, two months and a day,” He calculated and then continued, “Trixie and Mike have known each other for how long now and haven’t acted on it? Alex being a 16 year old flower girl would be kinda awkward, you know what I mean?” He shook his head with a sigh. “That damn homecoming from hell where I came back with Taco Bell nachos disheveled and you still decided to talk to me…I swore that was a miracle that night.” 

“She did offer to help. I just don’t want any of them to feel like I’m taking advantage of them.” Arista grinned. A laugh escaped her as Sulley shared the story of Arielle. “That does sound like something she’d do. But at least you know she likes you. She could have done something much worse.” The blonde smiled. “I don’t think they’ll wait until she’s sixteen. But if they wait a little bit longer, they can have two Sullivans for flower girls. How cute would that be?” Missing the dance had been the best accident of her life. It had finally ended the dance that they’d done for years and started them on an amazing adventure together. "Well, yeah. I finally got a chance to talk to you without the Sullivan fan club,” she teased. “And even disheveled, you were still the hottest guy on campus...but the biggest reason I talked to you that night was because you had nachos and I hadn’t eaten dinner.” The amusement in her eyes made it evident that she was joking about the last part.

“Ohh a walk home? I knew I was cool. Only cool people walk with friends.” She said with a gleeful smile while tucking her hair behind her ear. It just made her happy that people even cared this much around town to first of all recognize her and second of all to take care of her when she got lost. Every day was like a blessing in this town because every day people knew who she was…even when she could remember who they were. “Do you know where I live? Asking for a friend.” 

The woman smiled, glad that she’d found Dory as opposed to someone else who might not have known her. It had been years since Arista had first met her water loving friend though. “You’re very cool, Dory,” she said sincerely. A soft laugh escaped her and Arista nodded. “Yes, I remember where you live and I’ll make sure you get home safe and sound.”

Jane took a quick sip of her tea before smiling at Angel again. The young woman always held a soft spot in the brunette’s heart, feeling a bit like she had to look after her, make sure she was okay. “Good, that’s good.’ She nodded, noting her shifting a bit. ‘You did? That’s great! What did you decide on?’

Even though Angel wouldn’t admit it, Jane had become another sort of older sister to her. Not that she really knew what to do with sisters, but she was trying to figure it out. She had been talking to Lucy more. “Uh, social work...I know I can’t keep every kid from going through what I did...but maybe I can help someone.”

“As the youngest, I feel like I’ve been on everyone’s bad side at least once and have seen some terrifying sides,” Arielle pointed out with the biggest of smiles. “Okay so you give her sweet potatoes normally and then blend up everything else into her favorite food and then, she’d never know until you break the heartbreaking news when she’s 16 like you all did,” She teased with a giggle, but she still held the same sentiment and regard to help out her niece. “YES!!! To think Gossip God is still on his fishing trip and I beat the old man to the punch. I should be deemed a hero in this town,” She puffed out her chest proudly. “Our goal is to make sure those four wind up together. Harrison and Attina, Mike and Trixie. That is our summer goal.” 

“We’ve probably all been on a bad side at one point or another. Probably more than one point, honestly.” There hadn’t been nearly enough bathrooms growing up to keep the girls from silly arguments. “You’re a genius, Arielle. I don’t tell you that nearly enough,” Arista grinned. “Although I might not ever tell her,” she added with a soft laugh. “You’re certainly doing a service to us poor gossip-starved inhabitants.” The blonde nodded her head, expression turning serious. “So what’s the game plan?”

“You’re probably right,” she smiled, she truly was lucky to have so many wonderful sisters in her life. “Poor thing, it’s hard enough to manage emotions as an adult.” Though she joked, it was true. Alana was usually an upbeat, optimistic person, but there were times that life just weighed on her, and after all these years, she still didn’t know how to combat it. “She’ll figure it out, she’s a smart girl.”

“I usually am,” she teased with a soft laugh. Having a big family had always been something she’d loved. “Right? Still, it’s made things a little tough.” It had definitely stretched her skills as a parent but they were all learning together. And Alex was still the sweetest little thing she’d ever known. “Luckily she had plenty of smarts on both sides of the family,” she laughed. “How are you though? Anything new in your life?”

“Aqua’s not THAT scary,” She huffed. After all, it was pretty entertaining watching Arista and Aquata go at it at times. Both of them had completely opposite personalities and they were always taking each other’s things by mistake, although she was pretty sure Aquata liked blaming Arista on the matter. “You know you could always mix in the peas into the mac and cheese. Isn’t that what mom did when we were little? Either way, what little Alex won’t know, won’t kill her—until she’s like 16,” She retorted with an encouraging smile. “YES! Okay okay okay, so Trixie, we both know she digs Mike but, you know how she said when she got her mani/pedi with her Grandpa Lou that she chose her favorite color? Well, I saw the nails in person. It’s Mike’s favorite shade of green, not Trixie’s,” She pointed out. “AND THEN!!!! Harrison…he got all flustered when I mentioned asking Attina if she was single, y’know, spice up the pot a little. He still digs her, it’s gross. They need to get married, but that’s what you missed on Glee!” 

“Have you been on her bad side? Absolutely terrifying.” Arista grinned. Despite butting heads with Aquata, she did love her. “I’ll have to give that a try. Really, with any vegetable. Although she does love sweet potatoes.” The woman grinned. Her smile only grew as Arielle dug into the gossip. “Oh my God. Really?” Her eyes widened. Between her oldest sister and her best friends, Arista wasn’t entirely sure how she’d gone so wrong with helping them realize the person they were meant to be with was right in front of their eyes. “Trixie and Mike are a mess...well, Harrison and Attina are, too actually. I mentioned dating to Attina the other day so maybe we’ll at least get the ball rolling on that one. Especially if Harrison is back.”

“See, it’s almost as if I can read your mind.” It was nice to know someone liked her products enough to finish them… even if it wasn’t exactly an unbiased party. “Oh, you know. Good, stressed and busy — the triple threat.” Alana laughed softly. “How are you? How’s sweet little Alex?”

“I think it’s a sister thing,” she laughed. Despite the fact that all of them knew how to drive the other’s crazy, it seemed like they almost all had the ability to heal each other, too. Arista might have been Alana’s sister, but she was always supportive of those she cared about and she did genuinely like the products her sister was making. “Ah, yeah. I understand that completely.” Running after Alex had become quite the chore. “Uh, I’m the same as you, I think and Alex...less sweet, more...well she is sweet, she’s just learning how to manage emotions.”

“Of course not,” Alana was quick to assure her, “oh, gosh, you know I didn’t mean it like that.” Arista was the kind of person that was beautiful without having to try, she might just be the last person that needed any beauty products from her. “I thought you would like that. It’s really nice, I promise. I made sure to perfect it this time.”

“Relax, I was only joking,” the woman laughed. Arista always loved trying out her sister’s creations. It was the perfect bit of self-care to incorporate into her busy life. “Well, I’m excited to try it. I just finished the last one you gave me.” Putting it into her purse, Arista turned back to her sister. “How have you been?”

It was a simple question and yet it caused Attina’s cheeks to heat up and turn a dark shade of red. “Me? Heavens no, do you not know me at all? My only love is marine life. I’ll be old and grey before I’m able to pursue a dating life.” Brushing off her sisters comment with a chuckle. Attina wasn’t wrong but she wasn’t quite right either. Sure, her job took up a lot of her free time but surely she could fit in dating somewhere. “It’s up to you, really! I don’t want to to be bother, but whenever you guys do need that extra sleep or want to go on a getaway I’ll be here.”

She picked up on the change in her sister’s cheeks, causing her to grin. “Alright, if you say so.” One day, that would change. Probably with some interference from the rest of the Triton girls to make it happen. “You’re not a bother. You’re my sister. I don’t want to bother you, you know...since work it taking up so much of your free time.” The corners of her mouth curled up in a smile.

“The motivation was having one clean pair of socks left,” Sulley laughed, shaking his head. This is exactly what life was like for Sulley. It was running around, getting things done around, raising Alex, and work. Sure, it was tiring, but he wouldn’t change it for anything else in the world. “Exactly, especially because they’re always making some sort of excuse if I even insinuate they should go out and dress up for the evening,” He sighed, pressing his lips to the blonde’s forehead. “Really? Even after nearly 3 years? That’s pretty crazy.” 

“Maybe if we bribe one of my sisters with a home cooked meal once a week, they’ll help me with laundry,” she laughed. Despite how tired she was, Arista loved their life. She she had learned quickly that it was okay to ask for help. “We can’t give them too much grief. It took us how long of crushing on each other before we ever even tried dating?” She had had a crush on him since high school and it wasn’t until college that things had started for them. Arista grinned as his lips pressed against her forehead. “I still can’t believe it’s been three years. Feels like just yesterday.”

“Thank you Twista” She said as she took back her keys and recognized the other blonde. “Aww you were following me. That must mean you love me. I love you too buddy.” When it processed that she had her pajamas on she laughed it off knowingly. “Oh I’ve been sleepwalking lately. I made it all the way here! I must have been swimming really fast.” 

A soft smile quirked up the corners of her lips as Dory called her the wrong name. It was a common occurrence, but she had learned not to mind. It wasn’t as if she’d called her by one of her sister’s names instead. “Will you let me walk you home? I just want to make sure you get home alright?”

“She’ll liiiive,” Arielle drawled out with a giggle. “Oh? Yikes. What was it this time? Was it the peas? Cause I can definitely understand, they taste pretty gross,” She admitted, scrunching her nose in disgust. She admired Arista’s parenting skills, between her and Sulley being happy parents, but also going through work and life, the way they worked as a team together—she admired it all. “Oh oh! Well, since you, mentioned Mike, I have Trixie intel…AND AND I also have Harrison intel.” 

“Or she’ll kill me,” she grinned. She had butted heads with Aquata often growing up. Of course, Arista had a habit of helping herself to Aquata’s things every now and then. “Yes, it was peas but it’s important to introduce her to new foods or she’ll only end up eating mac and cheese or chicken nuggets.” She didn’t force Alexandria to eat things she didn’t want, but she did encourage her daughter to try new things. “Trixe AND Harrison intel? C’mon! Spill! You know I love gossip.”

“Are you implying my hands are starting to look aged, Lana?” The blonde teased her sister. She knew that her sister was all about beauty and did what she could to avoid wrinkles and age spots before they happened. Truth be told, Arista had neglected her own beauty regimen in the last few months. “You know I’m a sucker for anything hibiscus scented, though.”

“Would you like a sample of my newest hand cream?” Alana was often seeing what she could whip up when it came to homemade creams, face masks, or beauty products of any sort, and she was proud of her newest product. “It’s all natural, hibiscus and green tea scented.”

“Mostly?” The woman teased. “You starting to get a dating life?” Growing up, Arista had always wished that Attina would loosen up and pay attention to her own life and stop trying to parent the rest of them. At the time, it was because Arista wanted freedom but now she just wanted her eldest sister to be happy. All of the girls were grown now, Attina could have her own life and she should have her own life. “Well you can babysit whenever you’d like. I’m sure Sulley and I could always use a night off to catch up on grading. Or sleeping.”

“You know if you ever need a baby-sitter I’m mostly always available.” Attina cooed as she held baby Alex. She was so ecstatically happy for her sister. Babies were always a blessing and to see Arista so happy made Attina feel like she didn’t do such a bad job at taking care of her siblings. “If I didn’t love my job so much I think I’d quit just to help you take care of her.” Attina giggled with a beaming grin.
